“Nice place”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 April 2012

nice place to stay for couple of days, friendly and courteous staff. They have lot of space available but maintenance of property is poor. Quality of food is average.

I visited Yelagiri and stayed for 2 days in Hotel Landmark. The only good thinng about Hotel Landmark is the spacious room. Rest all are below par. There is no proper fecilities there. What is there in the menu is not available. The Current cut happens very often and you need to repeatedly call the reception to switch on the generator. Lots of mosquitos in the room. The hotel does not provide repelants in rooms. Lots of noice because of construction.

Yelagiri has very few "good" places to crash and Hotel Landmark is one of them. The hotel is located about 100m from the far side of the lake, away from the crowded main entry. This makes it a good choice if you are looking for a laid-back weekend. The hotel and rooms are spacious and well maintained. They have a huge play area for kids, lawns and an open air theatre where they screen movies in the nights in front of a bonfire, which is really enjoyable. The food is good and more or less manageable. The service is mostly good except for a few newbies not wanting to help you. If you have any request, try asking the senior members and they would make sure they get the best for you. The manager taking care of the hotel and the people at the reception are extremely accommodative and are focused on giving you the best experience. And most importantly it works out to be economical.

We went to Yelagiri (two families) for one night (Sat) from Chennai. We had emailed GM Mr. Narayanan in CH who is a very nice man and very prompt in blocking 2 rooms in the Landmark. The route to the hotel is easy to find with sign boards along the way and also with a writeup that we received from Mr. Narayanan.
We reached there around 1pm and checked in within five minutes. The rooms cost you 2200 + tax/night. The rooms were spacious with a large king size bed, a dining table and a balcony + bathroom attached.
There is no A/C(you don't really need A/C here) but there are two fans in each room which should suffice.

There is a well maintained lawn and play area for kids. The place is silent and is good for birding. It is close to Murugan temple which is one of the key attractions in Yelagiri.

The lunch buffet was okay (south indian) but the dinner buffet and breakfast buffet were really good. The buffets are reasonably priced at 150, 200 and 125 respectively. For dinner, you can also have the same items for the buffet as al-a-carte. We ordered pakoras as snack for the evening and it was fresh but the coffee was not good.

The service is pretty good and the staff are courteous. Around 7pm they screened a movie in a giant screen near our room which we could watch from the corridor. However after the movie there was loud music and partying + campfire for a group of people.
This went on till 10:15pm which made us a little uncomfortable. There was some problem with the power going on and off during the day and evening and the cable tv wasn't working for couple of hours in the evening. If these are also taken care of it would be wonderful.

Overall it was a pleasant trip and a good break from hectic city life. I would recommend staying at Landmark for future travelers to Yelagiri.

Jolly place to visit with friends and family. We were a group of 40 people, so we took the conference hall which was fully equipped with music system, mike and white board which let us play lots of team building activities. Also the entire team in the hotel made sure our group was attended well and we appreciate the promptness. We loved the food over there compared to O'Nila, and Peters park. Not much of variety in the other hotels but Landmark offered Chinese, Tandoor, South and North Indian. Also an other important factor was the overall abundance in space which a normal hotel doesnt offer. It was a treat to live in such a green place. Our company has decided to keep our annual sales meet hereafter in Hotel Landmark, Yelagiri because of their location, ambiance, service and value for money.
