“More here than bike trails”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 July 2014 via mobile

Came here to ride the bike trails, which were both fairly good. The cafe was reasonable and the service was very pleasant.
The parking cost £3 for the day. I was quite impressed by the forest drive. A really nice place to come for a BBQ or picnic. I'll be returning with my bike and my family.

“Great MTB trails and looks like a nice walk”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 June 2014

Predominantly talking from a mtb point of view the two main trails on offer (not tried the black) are 'amazeballs' really great trails very fast and well thought out great on a hard tail or FS :) well worth a crack at them :) the new trail has a bit of a punishing ascent but the descent is well worth the effort and do do the extra forest bit and not trundle round the fire road. car park at the bottom has a bike wash which is great if its muddy. twrch the main trail is good both wet and dry its quite sheltered and under tree cover most of the time, I think the other trail may get a bit claggy in the wet

not done the walk but looks alright :)

happy trails

“Forest Drive is Fantastic”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 June 2014

We had a couple of hours to spare. As the weather was showery we decided to do the forest drive. The staff at the visitor centre were helpful and told us all about the different places to stop en route. The seven mile drive was in a figure of 8 through stunning forest mountains. Several car parks along the route have different reasons to stop including sculptures, views or play areas. We only saw three other cars. It really felt like you were in the wilderness when really we were only a few miles from the nearest town.

“How to get lost with a map!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014

Mobility problems for both my Mum and I, led to a drive around on Bank Holiday Monday.

One does not really appreciate the full extent of the forest, even getting lost on the car trail!!!

A very interesting visit - but be aware that if you do use the BBQ bins, one should make sure that your BBQ is fully OUT and not burning. At the time of our visit, it was, to say the least damp, but soon it will be tinder dry.

It is £5 for the forest trail.
Car parking is EXTRA if you stop outside the visitor centre.

Tea room is good value for money - large mug of tea = 85p
