We stopped in with friends who live in the neighborhood last week for a bit of Indian food. From our entrance into the restaurant, the server/owner was less than engaging, treating us in reserved fashion that made us feel almost uncomfortable. We ordered two starters and four main courses and when asked about rice stated we wanted just two servings, as it appeared they charged extra for it.
The food upon arrival was good and overall we had no complaints about it, but when I got the check we'd been charge for four servings of rice at 3 Euros apiece, that's 12 Euros for rice on top of main courses that ran 10-11.5 apiece. We each consumed one Kingfisher beer apiece and the charge was 5 Euros for a ,33l bottle, steep by any measure.
Given the almost surly wait service and the price we paid, nearly 100 Euros for a simple indian meal, I don't think I'll ever return. Oh, we were the only ones there throughout the whole experience. i guess that says quite bit.
