We ate here last week & were disappointed with the service. The waiter took 20 mins to take our order even though place was quiet. He wasn't friendly at all & I can't say it was a memorable visit. The Patio burger was good (delicious meat & well presented) but for 16 + euros it was dear. My wife who is a veggie was catered for & had a nice salad of mixed vegetables. It is a very modern decor but feels cold. There are much better & cheaper restaurants in the town.

The restaurant is a lovely place in summer; where you can sit outside in a nice garden beside the river surrounded by the old buildings. But the lunch menu is expensive for what you get. I ordered "pavé du brochet" and the small piece of fish was overdone. My three other companions had various types of burger and chips - each for about 16 euros - far too expensive for a small burger. The half litre of Bordeaux Ordinaire in a pichet was 9 euros. A small beer 3.50 euros. We were also overcharged by 5.90 euros (for a cafe gourmand which should have been incl in the Patio Express meal of the day with my brochet. although I didn't find out until we were on our way home so haven't complained to the management. There are far better value for money restaurants in Aurillac, although the setting may not be as nice.

We tried this restaurant on recommendation, and were very disappointed. We may have chosen a bad night as there was a large party eating later, although there were very few other customers dining whilst we were there.

The welcome was not encouraging or warm, and we found the decor rather cold, although obviously very trendy, minimalist I think it could be described as. We felt the menu was not inspiring, and what we chose was very average. The carpaccio of beef was watery and tasteless, with overpowering amounts of pesto, dressing and balsamic vinegar - which may have been used to disguise the lack of flavour of the beef? Followed by what was described as a salad de mer, which was a huge amount of overdressed and very gritty lettuce, with a bout 4 scallops and some croutons. I could not eat it.

Generally disappointing, may be we chose a bad night, but we came away disappointed especially after such a good recommendation from locals. We could not see the great attraction, and the food was poor for the price. The staff were not interested in trying to promote their image either.

Lovely setting, great atmosphere, superb food and extensive wine cellar which you walk round to select your bottle.
The menu is extensive and reasonably priced, especially for the quality of the food. Service was lovely given that none of us can speak very good French and the staff that were on that evening made a great effort with their English. Thank you!
Would recommend and return without hesitation.

Food really good, service pleasant, try to get there early for lunch to get a good seat on the small terrace. However, avoid hot days as it is a real sun trap. Relatively large portions so be prepared.
