The grotto was great. During summer time I found it very nice and special. The amount of food was enormous- after the primmi piatti for 4 people that included cheese - 2 types of ricotta, 2 of other local cheese, and a humongous amount of meat- porchetta being one of the best I tasted, we could not eat anything else. Much than 100 euro I think, with dessert, coffee and plenty of wine included. Apparently it is s=hocking to take home food but I could not leave there all the delicious salami. Parking is a nightmare, like in all urban Italy, so park 1/2 mile away and walk. There are only 15 spots in the cul- de- sac in front of restaurant.

Our International Archeological Society of Naples was in Tivoli on Saturday, 20 May, to visit the wonderful Villa Adriana. The enormous villa complex of the Roman Emperor Hadrian. We made reservations to eat and drink Frascati wine after our tour of the villa at this Osteria. Our group consisted of 29 Americans, Italian's, and Brits who live in the Naples, Italy area. We were extremely pleased with our dining experience here. This is not a restaurant, but a true Italian Osteria, where the tasting of different meats, cheeses, antipasti, wine, lasagna, etc. is the norm. The porchetta was just mouth watering, as well as the other meats, cheeses, etc. The lasagna is homemade, but is heated up to serve and we ate both the lasagna with the red sauce and white sauce with porcini and truffles. The white and red wine was really tasty. We drink a lot of Italian wines, and these were very good. The two sisters who served us were really wonderful, and the owner was gracious and very kind to us. We would certainly eat here again. We were eating in the scavi and tables are set up in the structures underground. A true unique experience. We had heard that they also serve homemade Amaro made by the owners uncle. The Amaro was really tasty - made with herbs and spices - a liquor. Our group is very grateful to the staff and the owner. A wonderful experience for all of us.

We stopped here after looking at TA and were not disappointed. We are travelling round Europe with our dog and they were friendly allowing us inside which was beautiful . We had the sharing platter cheeses the ricotta was to die for , pork was beautiful and cooked salami's and meats lovely watch out for the hot one ! We couldn't eat another thing so can't tell you how good the lasagne was but if anything like the platters it was missed ! If you in Frascati go here !!

We were told to stop for lunch in this town for the best porchetta ever, and boy did we get lucky. We wandered into this tucked away spot for lunch and are still salivating over the food. We ordered the sample plate which consisted of 3 different salamis, prosciutto, porchetta, four kinds of cheese, olives, eggplant, artichokes, and sundried tomatoes. every bite was better than the last. I can't stop thinking about the ricotta cheese. If we make it back to Italy, we'll be sure to swing back here--for the ambiance, food, and great service!

Fantastic ancient roman site! On a par with Pompeii in my opinion, close the Flumicino airport.

Parking is free, cheap entry, there is a cafe inside which provides adequate refreshment and food, also a little gift shop.
