Wow! I cannot put into words to express the most wonderful time we had in Sardinia and especially from the comfort of our wonderful home for the week in the charming town of Chiaramonti!
The house we stayed in was charming, spacious and had everything we needed for our holiday. One of the bathrooms had alternating lights and an inbuilt radio which ensured we had to drag a normally shower shy boy out of the bathroom . All of the local amenities were within a 1min walk away and we enjoyed in the day a trip to the local shops and in the evening a trip to the local bar which overlooked a children's play area, enduring both adults and children were relaxed.
It doesn't matter if your Italian is limited or very basic ( as ours was, I am ashamed to say.) People are friendly and want to communicate - by the end of the holiday, my 7 yr old son was confident enough to walk in the village on his own to order the most wonderful gelato, buy fidget spinners and play football and other games with the local children ( who viewed him with great interest and with the help of google translate joined the junior mafioso!) His particular highlight was ordering pizza locally ( 4euros for a large Margarita) and having it delivered to him personally.
You can pick up homemade wine locally for a 2.5euros for a litre and the most wonderful Sardinian peretta cheese of which we drank and ate aplenty and enjoyed local choir entertainment in the evening.
Although we spent most of our time exploring the most stunning beaches that Sardinia had to offer ( Costa Smeralda, Stintino etc) we were also able to relax by the pool 2 minutes away from our accommodation which we had to ourselves!
Angela was a wonderful hostess and kept us up to date throughout our booking which was reassuring and ensured there was a contact locally ( if needed) should any issues arise.
We have been fortunate enough to visit many places this Summer but my son has ranked his time in Chiaramonti and Sardinia his favourite place. I have recommended the accommodation and Sardinia to many of my friends who are couples and who have families upon my return... and I have booked a return trip already next May half term!
Thank you again Angela for providing a wonderful experience for our family and we look forward to seeing you again in May!
We were welcomed ,warmly,by Angela and were delighted with the accommodation which was traditional, clean and spacious ( with 4 huge double bedrooms, two large bathrooms ,a quaint kitchen, large dining area and enormous lounge to relax in after each days adventure. We felt at home immediately!. The village is beautiful, the residents so friendly who patiently coped with our attempts of communicating but we got there in the end. There are local shops which are discreetly situated, Reds bar where we relaxed in the sunshine, the children's park, opposite , where friends were made and Italian learned and nearby the ice cream parlour where we learned the meaning of a true home made ice cream!. The beaches were a delight , each one with different sceneries, experiences and the children swam in safe ,clear waters reluctant to leave but looking forward to the next day. This was our first experience of Sardinia and the only thing that we regretted was not having booked an additional week as there were so many other places to visit. This will be rectified when we come back next year and we cannot think of a better place to stay than this. Thank you Angela for your hospitality, translation and sharing your beautiful home with us . See you next year.
Chiarimonte is a lovely place to stay. We would definitely stay again at Angela's. The locals are incredibly friendly and hospitable, and the house is stunning, in a beautiful setting in the village. everything is a 2/3 minute walk from the house and you don't need a car once you are there, but we would recommend one for getting around to see the rest of the island.
It's a great location for touring the hundreds of beaches in the area and they are all about 40-50mins away (less if you can drive faster!). It is an excellent place as a base for touring the north and west of the island- and if you are more organised the north east. The children were so comfortable that they all had lie ins most days and any parents reading this will understand the importance of that whilst on holiday!
Angela as a host if very communicative and has a list of handy hints and tips. The neighbours are also very friendly and with all that advice you will certainly have an authentic Sardinian experience. We travelled with a 13, 11 and 2 two year old. The house was very comfortable and the host even put up stair gates before our arrival for us. The house has been recently renovated and is stunning inside- but thankfully still child friendly.
We will definitely try and stay again in the future.
This house is large and spacious and well equipped. It is situated in the beautiful hilltop village of Chiaramonti and is ideal for a group of adults or large family as a base to explore northern Sardinia. The accommodation has two great shower rooms and very comfortable king sized beds. Chiaramonti locals are very friendly and helpful and Reds Bar in the centre is the focal point for people throughout the day. The village has a small supermarket, butchers and a very good pizzeria. You will need a car to explore and get to the beaches the closest of which is about 35 minutes drive. Thanks to Angie
I loved the house spacious and beautifully decorated in keeping with the town. The locals could not have been more friendly or helpful, they would drop in with fruit and cakes. There is everything you need within a five minute walk. You do need transport for the beeches, but the bus is only 2 minutes away. We chose to have someone drive us and visited 8 different beaches, each one more beautiful than the last. The food is stunning and restaurants so cheap. A whole pizza 14" for 4 euros, unbelievable. We woke every morning to stunning scenery, amazing sunshine and best fresh squeezed orange juice I have ever tasted. Cannot rate this highly enough, going back again next June. But this time I am taking my friends as well.

Well what can I say.. My family and I book for a two weeks holiday in early July. It was my first time visiting Sardinia so was very curious about finding the right location to stay at.. I then stumbled across this gorgeous LARGE house on bookings.com for such a reasonable price, considering how big the house is, it's a complete utter bargain. The homeowner Angela contacted me after the booking and reassured me that everything will be there ready for me and my family. Towels, bathroom supplies! There was even a little food pamper for us when we arrived.. It was very much appreciate as we arrive a little late in the evening.
The house is located in a lovely town with the most kindest neighbours who really look after the everyone. There is a few bars and restaurants just a walk away, lovely way to spend the evening with family.
To come back to the house and sleep in the huge king size beds with nothing but peace and quiet outside was pure pleasure.
Beaches just a short half an hour drive was so worth it, I've travelled a lot in my time but these beaches we came across were by far the most breathtaking, surreal I've ever seen.
These two weeks were by far the most relaxing and most enjoyable I've ever had.
Thankyou again to Sardinia and Angela the fabulous owner whose created a warm, welcoming home!!
