“Hotel does bad business!”
Reviewed 7 September 2013

This hotel was erroneously booked through bookings.com. I never received any sort of confirmation from this hotel nor bookings, however, I was assessed a fee of 522 Euro for a no show. I had booked another hotel in Blankenberge for the same time frame and had a lovely time. I've used bookings plenty of times in the past and they are trying to make good on the error but this hotel's poor customer service is unwilling to work with anyone...beware! Spend your money at a hotel where it will be appreciated, not at the hotel Aazaert!

When we eventually found the hotel (using sat-nav), there was no parking available in the adjacent secure parking (I believe they only have 4 spaces, but not certain), so we were recommended to park at the railway station and walk back (approx 10 mins). However on getting to the station car park, it too was full so we had to park further out of the town and walk about 20minutes to the hotel.
Our "Comfort" room was very small although perfectly nice. It overlooked the church and street.
About 7pm we moved our car from out-of-town to the station car park for the overnight stay, only to be told we had to pay €8.50 to park until midnight then a further €8.50 from midnight until we left the next day, so €17 in total for an unsecured piece of open waste ground parking.
The rooms do not appear to be air-conditioned, this was a problem over the weekend of 6-7 July as it was very hot, consequently we had to sleep with balcony doors open which meant we were constantly woken through the night by noisy passers by.
Breakfast was excellent.
So, all in all, a good hotel let down by lack of air conditioning and lack of parking.
My advice would be to find a B&B out of town, say in De Panne and use the excellent coastal tram to get into Blankenberge.

My wife and I planned a trip to Belgium with our first night stay at the Aazaert hotel. The hotel is situated among a maze of one way streets. Parking in this area is difficult.
We were met by an extremely efficient, helpful and likeable receptionist, who explained everything about the hotel and the parking options. We opted for a space in their private parking lot (additional charge) but this was very safe and convenient.
We had a junior suite overlooking the church and the square. The room was excellent and the bathroom luxurious with separate shower. The TV's are now flat screen and show English channels.
Used the smallish inside swimming pool and wellness area Very clean and modern. It is somewhat against our British nature to be nude in the sauna and steam, but quite simply this is the Belgian culture and no one bats an eyelid!
Plenty of restaurants around the area. Breakfast was top class - good hot food choices, pastries, fruits and meats as well as sparkling wine. Again the staff were on the ball, very pleasant and helpful and no waiting for teas and coffees.
A very well run professional hotel which could teach higher rated hotels lessons in customer service and professionalism.

Room Tip: We had a spacious Junior suite, overlooking the church and town square.

We spent 3 nights at the Hotel Aazaert and had a wonderful time. The rooms were very nice (lots of room to put your stuff) and the bathroom quite spacious. Breakfast was excellent. First time ever we saw a buffet with a bottle of champagne to make yourself a Mimosa!
The staff was extremely courteous and ready to do anything to make your stay enjoyable. We really recommend that hotel. The beach is wonderful, long stretches of fine sand. Eventhough the weather was cool, we were able to walk on the beach for hours. There is a tram that goes along the coast and it was very convenient hopping on it after a long walk. Lots of very good restaurants around the town as well.

We stayed at this hotel for one night (31/03/2012). The receptionist made us very welcome, explained the (free) wellness details and everyting else we needed to know - very professional. The same courteous and professional service was provided by all staff we came into contact with.
The junior suite we had booked distinguished itself from a normal room by having a seating corner and a seperate shower as well as the bath. The room was spotless and all common areas were the same. Our room faced the front, which meant that the church bells could be heard despite the double glazed windows.
The buffet breakfast was good and varied with diet options being available.
The location of the hotel is very central (less than 5 minutes walk to the beach and casino), and there is no shortage of restaurants and shops in the area.
Negative points - a wellness hotel should not have fitted carpets in the rooms and the old style television is just cutting unnecessary corners. Also the doors do not insulate sound very well, as we could hear late arrivals talking in the corridor.
We had no time to explore the wellness area (unfortunately). The price of 149 Euros p/n (Junior Suite) + 16 Euros for parking is good value if you take advantage of the wellness area, so if we return, it will be to do precisely that.

Very good 4 stars hotel for reasonable price. Very helpful personel help with every request. Medium choice breakfast menu.
Very good kitchem - every day new full menu - no other choice, but excellent quality. If you like French cousine its worth to go there.
In hotel is 11m swimming pool available for all guests for free.
Excellent meeting room with its own small terrace and open terrace open for all guests. Nice to reste there. Good choice.
Hotel rooms are without minibar, but equiped with fritch, so you can bring drinks from bar next to reception at any time.

Beware, most rooms have no air conditioning and rooms at the front are too noisey to keep the windows open at night.

Staff very helpful and polite. Nice 11m swimming pool.
Clean and comfortable, no drink facilities in the rooms.
