“Nice business trip”
Reviewed 6 October 2013

I was here for a training with a big group, very friendly staff, good service, good rooms and bed, food was very nice even in buffet shape as usually in Belgium.
The hotel is on the road to Spa, to far to walk to the vilage which is small but nice.
it has a nice garden And great Ardennen view from all rooms on the south side.
It is easy to reach and find from the highway.
Ample parking space and good facilities but did not have time to try them.
It is also close to the Francorchamps racing track.

Room Tip: Ask for one of the rooms in the new part

We have spent a full weekend at the hotel, with my wife and 2 boys.
The staff whether at the main desk or in the restaurant has always been very nice and helpful. They have tried their best to suit our needs. They are friendly and flexible. So rare nowadays.
Enjoy the swimming pool whatever the season as it is inside, and if you are brave enough, you can run outside and enjoy the Jacuzzi. Then finish with the great steam room… The facilities are great.
We also add some body and shiatsu massages, which we enjoyed very much. To be honest, I had better ones but they are still very much relaxing.
In terms of food, I guess that the best was the breakfast. Great choice of good quality products. The lunch and diner were also very good. I recall that duckling with vegs and potatoes….hummmm gorgeous
The cherry on the cake, was our trip to the spa racing circuit, which is only 20/30 minutes away. A great experience to live!
So, I would definitely recommend this hotel, and come back myself.

Room Tip: I believe there is 2 types of room, the new ones very much up to date and trendy design, and the old...

We stayed here for one night for a convention at work and I must admit I was a bit by the hotel. The rooms are very large but they are really old. It is like getting in your time machine and coming out in that 70's show... Except from this, the rooms were very clean, breakfast was good and staff was friendly. We didn't use ths spa.

Room Tip: Ask for a new room/if they have that...

The pictures with the very cool pool and nice view are not part of the hotel. They actually belong to the Thermes Spa http://www.thermesdespa.com/en/. So, just go directly there for that.

My husband bought a very expensive package for our anniversary that included the hotel room, candle light dinner and spa. The room was nice, we got buffet like all the rest, not a romantic dinner and the spa very disappointing. They have a small pool with cold water.

When we asked for our candle light dinner, they said that they don't have it every day. You are not told that when you book.

Then, we asked them where are the nice spa facilities they advertised on their website, they said that although they are misleading they do it on purpose, because all the other hotels do the same.

If they belong to Thermes Spa, they could at least specify that on the pictures. Thermes Spa is 5 minutes drive from the hotel and it has an extra cost.

If we knew all these beforehand we would have never picked this hotel. I don't recommend it, since they purposely lie!

Room Tip: Make sure that you don't go for the Spa. Pictures are misleading

We stayed in the hotel for a 2-days business meeting. Mixed up with some tours around Spa and the surrounding area, does not force to sit in the hotel.
Location is great. Air is fresh. Stuff was friendly. Well ... not 5-star hotel, but worth the money we paid. Food - not bad, though nothing outstanding. Good for week end stay.

Our stay was in conjunction with a tour trip through Europe so my rating is only based on an overnight stay. After several stays at other cramped hotels, I found the sleeping accommodations and bathroom at Spa Balmoral spacious and decently appointed. The beds and linens were comfortable. There is a lack of coffee service in the room but that is really the only complaint related to the accommodations. The views from the rooms on the back side of the hotel are serene and beautiful.

There is a full-service bar at entry level of the hotel, as well as a comfortable lounge area. Our tour group was provided a pre-determined dinner meal and early morning continental breakfast, so I cannot comment on the food service at the restaurant on site.

Room Tip: Rooms situated on the back side of the hotel offer a picturesque view.

We use this hotel on our annual trip to visit relatives in Germany. Just far enough for an easy journey from the Zeebrugge ferry. We have had the rooms overlooking the road with a balcony.
Very comfortable but lack tea & coffee facilities, so we bring a travel kettle. Minibar is pricey but there is a Delhaize supermarket up the road.
Evening meals were good but slow.
Corporates like Danone & Deloitte had sessions here and were noisy, Motor groups use the hotel for racing at Spa but mainly weekends. Could be a problem if your room overlooks the patio when the corporate.barbeque is in full swing.
Car parking OK but disabled bay often taken by perfectly fit motor sport competitors.

Room Tip: Avoid overlooking the patio despite the good view
