“Great food and location in a nice town in mid Jutland”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 August 2014

Stayed here for 2 days on our tour of Jutland with our Danish friends. Hotel and food package was comfortable and great value but be aware there are numerous accommodation blocks so you may not end up staying in the main hotel complex as was the case with us. It wasn't a problem for us and we had an outside balcony so was a good place to relax with a cool beer at the end of the day but no lifts etc. so may not be so good if you can't cope with flights of stairs etc. Town is charming and has a nice harbour area but seagulls can be noisy in the morning if you need to sleep with the windows open. Overall was a great choice for us and the DB&B option certainly made it more affordable. Denmark isn't the cheapest place for food and drink. Overall would recommend this place.

We stayed there 1 night, the check-in were quick and friendly, and we got a room in the building next to the hotel (1min walk from the reception). Room were large an fair, but for a non smoking hotel there shall not be any burn marks in the bedding, there were.
We took a look at the dinner menu but it wasn't us, a bit to ambitious in our opinion and the waiter didn't stop and tried to introduce it for us he just handed it to us and turned his back, so price vs. unknown kitchen = we found another place to eat.
That said we would probably stay there again if we are in that area. And the town is small but cozy.

This was my first stay in this part of Denmark, and while I don't know the area well, I hope that better accommodation exists nearby.

Location:
The hotel is located in the centre of town, which is a location that offers few benefits. We heard clattering on the cobblestones late at night and early in the morning since the double windows offered little protection from the noise. Also, this village is so small that one can be on the outskirts of it but still walk to everything within a few minutes.

Rooms:
The room was adequate if set your expectations reasonably low. The furniture is very utilitarian, and our double bed was nothing more than two singles jammed together, with separate sheets for each of us. This meant that sleeping next to my partner necessitated one of us lying in an uncomfortable gap in the middle.

Service:
We didn't ask for much, and we weren't offered much.

Food:
Breakfast was a very sad affair. The dining room is unappealing, and the few breakfast offerings were tasteless. It was so bad that my partner and I simply laughed, happy that we had only booked for one night.

While the hotel is fine for a night, I recommend booking elsewhere. The utilitarian rooms, mediocre service, and terrible breakfast offerings leave little to recommend a stay here.

Visited on business and stayed one night. An old, small, privately owned hotel with buckets of charm. Very traditional Danish architecture and helpful freindly staff. It was very busy, even though it was mid-week. They have a mid-week offer for DB&B which the retired community take up in their droves!. Ringkjobing is a very pretty, well matinained and smart town - it remids me of some of the nice Cornish towns, focussed on tourism, fish and good dining. Many smart object d'art shops and cafes. Hotel is very clean and tidy and welcoming - the location in the town square is very good and ideally placed for a visit. I did not eat in the restaurant, but the food coming out (to a full restaurant) looked to be very well presented and plenty of it. Everyone eating apeared to be having a good time.

Room Tip: Try to have a room in the "old" biulding on the town square.

It is typical Danish hotel - slightly lack of style and careless. An advantage is the hotel building itself. It is old one and with an old story to tell.

We lived in an remote building (100 m from the main one). Ground floor is occupied by private users and companies. Second and third floor consist of renovated hotel rooms.
Rooms are clean, light and spacey. Some may be surprised by microscopic TV sets.
Tip - take a room with view on the main square. It is nice view and nights are quiet, even on weekends.

Pluses - very good location in the middle of the old town.

Minuses
- not handicap friendly (stairs)
- it is necessary to walk 100 m to the restaurant for breakfast
- waiters are complete amateurs: I can provide many details, too many to write shortly. They acted according to 'first day at work' comedy pattern. I can only believe that today is much better and these nice girls have got improved significantly.
- no real parking place and not too much place for cars, especially out of the weekend when all restrictions works against motorized tourists.

Room Tip: If you get a room in new building ask for main square view.

Good basic hotel, nothing flash. Rooms a good size although didn't like being at street level with sidewalk right by my window. Bathrooms very average. Breakfast adequate but nothing wonderful. Good wifi. Very centrally located in the village.

Room Tip: not at street level or back in another part of the hotel
