Leaving hotel bookings until the last minute, I struggled to get anything nearer to Mont Saint Michael, so when a Best Western hotel cropped up I took it, booking a bridge view room.
The hotel is smaller than expected which was nice, the husband and wife team that checked us in run the hotel and were extremely helpful, explaining every detail we may need including local restaurants and even booking tables for us.
They even showed us to the secret island for our use as we had 2 nights there and it might be handy and told us the history of the hotel with is former use as a mill with evidence of its wheel and weir.
Breakfast was very good with a good choice and fresh products.
At night the bridge view came into its own with blue lighting.

Stayed here at the beginning of our tour of Normandy, planning to start off at Mont St Michel and work back towards Calais. What a charming place, we had a room with a river view and it was wonderful to wake in the morning to the sound of the river running by. The private island was a little haven of tranquility after a day's sightseeing. Hotel did not have it's own restaurant but were happy to recommend local establishments, both of which were spot on . High quality breakfast provided in the breakfast room with a view of the river thrown in for good measure. Would definitely come here again

Room Tip: Be sure to ask for a room with a river view

Stayed here for three nights whilst visiting relatives who live locally. The hotel is in a wonderful setting on the river Selune. If you want picturesque, then this is hard to beat. Our room although small looked out over the water, towards the island which I believe is owned by the hotel. It was spotlessly clean and comfortable and the breakfast ( at an extra cost of 11 euros per person) more than adequate. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The town of Ducey is not very big but has all the facilities you may need - bars, restaurants, chemists and a reasonably sized Carrefour. Apart from the lovely walks in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, Ducey is very well placed for visiting many other notable places in the area - Mont St Michel, Avranches etc. Will definitely return!

Room Tip: pick a room over the water.

As other have said the hotel is fairly basic, but deserves its 3 stars because of its pleasant location and friendly staff.

We paid a supplement so that we could have a view over the River Sélune and we thought that this was worthwhile, as the view from our window was pretty. It was also pleasant to wake up at night and hear the sound of the river running alongside the hotel.

The rooms, however, are small and our bathroom lacked good finition. The carpet and furnishings in the room are very traditional and sombre. We found the bed head particularly uncomfortable, if you wished to sit up in bed to watch TV, the wooden mouldings stuck into your back. I felt that the curtaining improved the décor of the room. The room has no air conditioning and it was necessary to have the windows open all night in order to be cool enough to sleep. Though our room was some way from the main road, it was still possible to hear traffic noise early in the morning.

On the plus side, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel has its own garden on the island in the middle of the river and there are garden chairs available to relax and enjoy the view. The public areas are far more contemporary than the rooms. These are pleasant and light and airy. The breakfast is also well worth the supplement of 11 euros a head. There was an excellent selection of sweet and savoury dishes.

The situation of the hotel suited us, being within easy reach of Mont St Michel, yet far enough away from the crowds.

On balance, we enjoyed our stay, and we would recommend this hotel.

Simple but lovely hotel in an old mill above a small river. My room was small but clean and comfortable with a nice view. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Our group arrived at the hotel by 11 pm and the receptionist was still waiting for us to let us in instead of leaving our room keys at the desk for picking up.

My husband and I stayed here for 1 night in order to go see Le Mont St Michel the next morning. This charming hotel exceeded our expectations. Our room had a lovely view of the watermill and this very quite town was absolutely adorable. We walked to the crepes place down the road and had a delicious meal and enjoyed the live piano player.

The staff was friendly and the free parking was definitely a perk.
