This little gem you find on the country side close to a small village with a supermarket. Vilma and Gerard have restored this lovely place into a little paradise. The rooms are nice a spacius with a modern touch and Vilma serve a delicius breakfast with homemade confiture. You can order a 3 dish home made dinner, which was excellent. Vilma is very helpful with information about what to see and local restaurants and and how to get there. Good value for money.

We have had two superb visits (so far) to Casa do Alferes Curado as we looked at properties in the area. The accommodation and facilities offered are top quality and well appointed in modern style. The welcome, facilities and meals offered by the hosts are truly excellent.

The area is very pleasant with good local restaurants. Beautiful historic cites, mountains, lakes and even the sea are all within easy reach for day out visits.

We are so happy to count Wilma and Gerard as friends as they have helped no end with opinions, advice, introductions, translations, negotiations and viewings. It has been home from home for us and hopefully, they will become not too distant neighbours in the near future.

We spent a three-days stay at Casa do Alferes Curado in August 2011 and we had beautiful time there, thanks to the hosts, Gerard and Wilma, who gave us a warm welcome and make us feel at home, really.
The house is located in Maças de Dona Maria, a nice village in the Portoguese countryside, and is surrounded by quiet woods: there you can find complete calmness and spend some time in the pleasant pool, but in less than one hour by car you could reach many beautiful places to visit, such as Leiria, Coimbra, Tomar, Batalha, Ourém; in a little bit more even Alcobaça and Nazaré.
Our room was located at the first floor, with stone walls and wooden beams; it was very large, well lit and perfectly clean. The furniture was completely new and the bathroom had a wonderful modern look. The breakfast was large and tasty.
We really loved our stay there.

We have stayed with Wilma and Gerard on many occasions. Every time we have enjoyed a relaxing, enjoyable stay. The area is beautiful with plentiful cheap/good restaurants nearby.
Gerard and Wilma are very friendly and helpful and Wilma in particular has a wonderful mastery of many languages. Nothing is too much trouble - do not hesitate to book a stay!

Casa Alferes Curado is a splendid place - the peace and quiet of the countryside, gorgeous pool and comfortable, well furnished accomodation with a modern edge. Wilma and Gerard work hard to make their guests feel at home and produce beautiful meals. We loved it.

As we wanted to explore Portugal from the inside we decided to stay at Casa Alferes Curado, which is an ideal place for visting the neighbourhood. It is very tranquil, in beautiful surroundings, and you are treated like real "guests". The room (+ annex sittingroom) was very clean and spacious, the breakfast copious, the hosts were very friendly and helpful, and the little kitten oh so playful!
We really liked it there and would recommend it to everybody.

We had a wonderful time in Casa Alferes Curado. It's very spacious and has all the facilities you could wish for. It also has a nice swimming pool where you can relax after visiting the beautiful surroundings. Many thanks to the lovely owners for showing us around and introducing us to the village and portugese life!
