The room was basic to say the least, the only upgrade or renovation since the 1980s was a flat screen TV bolted onto the wall where there was space. The small room had a fridge, which took up a lot of the room’s space, and the fridge was an hourly alarm clock as each time it started up it rattled and groaned. It got unplugged during the night.
Someone else in the party had a room with a window that did not close properly which caused a draught, while my room was too hot. A couple of missing light bulbs here and there, with the non-responsive air con controls hanging from the wall. The bed curved like a banana. Pillows lumpy - filled with what I can only think is old rice pudding.
The bathroom was decorated in a dark blue colour scheme; you’ll need a minor’s lamp to see what you’re doing.
If you’re looking for the cheapest room in the town this hotel may be for you, but at the cost of comfort and the ability to relax.
Breakfast was a basic continental buffet style of cereals/yoghurts and pastries/breads, and some hot offerings.More
