“Exactly what it said it was”

There was 2 of us staying at the Mar Bella and we got exactly what we had been advised. The room was compact but enough room to get about. It was clean and towels/bedding done every day. Are out meals and drinks in the sister hotel that was 2mins around the corner also very clean and polite staff. Very close to the beach and easy walking distance to the old town. Plenty of restaurants if your self catering and supermarkets. All inclusive is good in the sister hotel there was a different range every night although not a great change if your vegetarian. Entertainment was a bit iffy but you don't need to stay there. Not a lot in the way of night life. We found a few little bars that are open later in the old town. Other than that don't plan on a party all nighter! Only 1 bad thing I could honestly say is that we had no balcony and the window looked onto a wall and it was so hot at night! We bought a fan for 12€ in a supermarket best buy ever!
All in all great little place to wind down and relax!

We knew what to expect when we booked the hotel so wasn't disappointed. It is more like a hostel than a hotel but we did get a wristband to use the facilities and restaurants etc in the sister hotels around the corner. It was nice to be able to choose which bar/pool to sit by and not be stuck in the hotel. The rooms were very clean and we got fresh towels etc and beds made everyday. The room for 4 people is literally a room with 4 beds all pushed together with no spaces, so if your going on holiday with people your not overly familiar with, you certainly will be by the end of the holiday! The walls are very thin, you can hear people quietly talking. So if your a light sleeper and don't like to be disturbed then maybe this hotel isn't for you. Luckily we were staying next door to our friends and there wasn't many other guests at the time of our stay. All the staff were really friendly and the receptionists were extremely helpful, even phoning us taxis etc when requested. The hotel was perfect for what we needed it for and it's right in the center of town and a two min walk from the beach. Overall we had a great stay and I would definitely return.

This is a 1 star hotel situated in the middle of the town. Rooms were cleaned, towels changed and beds made six times in eight nights. For those on all inclusive there is no restaurant or bar on site, meals are taken at the 4 star Tossa Beach and drinks at either the Tossa Beach or Tossa Center hotels which are about 3 minutes walk away. (I have left reviews regarding food and drink etc for these hotels on tripadvisor.) The Mar Bella hotel has three floors (54 stairs) and there is no lift. Rooms were basic but clean. Staff friendly and helpful. There is noise from the roads outside mainly from pedestrians talking/shouting etc but also traffic, this is similar for all hotels in the middle of town. Ear plugs are a must.

Just got home from this hotel. We were also there when the fight broke out. Turns out they were Russian. They were fighting again a couple of days later. Should have been evicted tbh.
This is not a Hotel, it is a Hostel. It is a building containing rooms and nothing else. No bar, no restaurant, no anything! Every single footstep reverberated all around the building. Very noisy guests. Uncomfortable beds. Very basic rooms. Single glazed on a busy street. Asked to be moved to sister hotels but told "No possible" Staff friendly enough. Food good. Would not stay in the Marbella again for free. Would probably stay in Central or Beach but not here. PS The Amstel is awful bordering on undrinkable.

Firstly we got dropped of at the top of the street, the bus driver didn't speak much English luckily we had read the reviews and knew it was near a bridge. On arriving to hotel/hostel we were told we had a balcony and given our key once we got to our room there was no balcony but just 1 small window which lead into another persons room in the middle of a tower which was used for sewage waste. We went to complain but was told we had to pay another 25 euros per day if we want a balcony and we couldn't move room. There is no air con and we didn't have any fresh air coming into our room which made it very difficult to sleep at night. There was no fridge in any of the rooms so its hard to keep water cool.
One night we were awoken at 1.30 in the morning by the next door neighbour kicking all the doors, beating his girlfriend up. We were trapped in our room bearing In mind we are 2 women with a man fighting outside. We went to complain (once we finally escaped from our room) the staff did nothing at all, they wouldn't move us to a different room, the guests who were fighting didn't get kicked out and we were told if we wanted to calm down then to go for a walk at 2 in the morning or be quiet and go back to our room!
Overall the treatment that we got was awful and we felt very intimidated and frightened to stay in our own room and staff did nothing to help us at all!
Food - wide selection mostly fish and pork everyday.
Drinks - very generous on the alcohol, however at 11.30pm drinks stop and you get thrown out of the bar in both hotels.
Pools in the 2 other hotels are very small and cramped and only get sun for small part of the day as the pools are surrounded by the hotels which have 4/5 floors,
Tossa de mar is a beautiful place with alsorts to do but I would recommend you do not stay at Marbella hotel!!

Firstly, let me confirm that the Mar Bella is certainly not posh. It's okay as somewhere to sleep, and luckily we had read reviews on here first and taken a fan which is essential due to the lack of air con. We did think the hotel was quite difficult to find after getting dropped off at the top of the road - just walk down until you reach a bridge and then cross over, the Mar Bella is just opposite. If you are all inclusive, all meals are served at the Tossa Beach and you can use the pool and bar there and at the Tossa Centre. The staff are generally very friendly and speak a lot of languages! One girl called bingo in English, French & Spanish and then the next night did a quiz in English & German. The drinks are very good quality and the food is nice, the sort of thing you expect in an all inclusive (salad, chips, bread, a lot of fish...). We spent most of our time at the Tossa Centre, which is a bit quieter and the smaller of the two main hotels. They usually have a quiz or bingo on a night, which attracts mostly British tourists. At the Tossa Beach, there is usually a show - when we were staying there was a parrot show, a Spanish musician and karaoke. There are not really enough sunbeds, or pool/restaurant space, for three hotels although if you get down at 9am when the pool area opens you should be alright. I would recommend travelling outside of the school holidays if you don't have kids, as we found the behaviour of a lot of the children staying quite bad. Overall, we enjoyed our four night break and felt the hotel was fine for a stay of less than a week. Tossa itself is a really nice, quiet place with two little beaches and a lot of history.
