Friendly people, terrific local food - fish called "cherne" which is hard to relate to anything known to the rest of the world (it's not seabass for sure, they claim it's cod related which is nonsense). The bottom line is that you choose a specimen from the display, it's impeccably fresh and beatifully cooked. You get tomato bruschetta while you wait enjoying the sea view, then you devour the huge fish and go away happy... Note that it is possible to get a mediocre dish out of a fresh fish; these guys are really good at what they do

Hidden away amongst the Pizza / Irish bar / Steak places right by the beach (find it by walking along the beach, it's next to an Irish bar called, erm, Paddy's), this has a great sea view.

The staff are friendly and attentive, the food is fresh and prices are reasonable. We ate there several times this month, either a mix of starters or fish and meat mains - all good. Typically we paid 40-50 euros including a beer and coffee, and would go straight back there if we visit the area again.

We liked the very friendly staff who made you very welcome but who were also very good at their job. The food was delicious especially the aged ham and the fish dishes.

It is difficult to find a good restaurant in Maspalomas. Don't try those places where they show you a picture of what you are going to have in your plate. It is generally disgusting and never looks as appealing as in the picture, anyway.

The Velero is certainly a bit noisy, but the food is always fresh and it is more authentic than anything else I have tried. If you want a Paella, go there and try theirs. They will ask you to wait for about 30 minutes, because they prepare it for you. It is not pre-cooked, unlike in most places. That I really appreciate.
