This holiday was a real treat for my family as we have not done an all-inclusive package since having children. Previous holidays have been a nightmare with many hours driving and constant counting out the euros to check if we can make it to the end of the holiday!
From the moment we arrived (and our luggage was taken from us and put in our suite) we received excellent customer service. From reception, to dinner, to by the pool-side the staff were friendly and informative.
The entertainment crew were outstanding and although they encouraged guests to participate, they also understood the meaning of the 'head is buried in my book' gesture. (Lorenzo and Mary (or Maria?)were particuarly fun).
The accommodation was clean and although not huge, a villa was plenty big enough for our party of 4 (2A & 2Ch), beds were turned down daily and towels replaced when asked. We had one night when an air vent faulted but this was resolved immediately and the technician came back the next day to check it was working properly (which it was).
The spa, something I never treat myself to, was wonderful and a full back massage was the icing on the cake.
Food, wow! Food was just brilliant. Plenty of choice (some themed nights (i.e Oriential night and Morrocan night) and an abundance of it. On the one day we did an excursion the chef even made up a packed lunch for us!
All in all a wonderful break, we will return...

We stayed here 1 week in a family room. Rooms are super : bungalow with living room , 2 seperate bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Terrace with small table and 4 chairs and a little garden. The hotel is very clean. There are 4 different swimming pools (most of them are heated , which is really a plus in april) . We stayed in half board : breakfast is very good ( lots of choice : cereals / bread/ eggs / yoghourt / warm dishes / sweet pastries and lots of fresh fruit) , diner is allright ( we missed variation in warm vegetables , but overall OK and again lots of fresh fruit). Staff is friendly . We loved the fact that all rooms are located in bungalows instead of a large building and well spread in a nice garden. We can really recommend this hotel and would certainly go back !

My boyfriend and I are quite young, and we booked up here for our first holiday together - first holiday for myself.

We booked up before reading the reviews online, but were quite sceptical after reading them. Some people were promoting the hotel and their experience, while others couldn't have been happier to have left.

When we arrived we could not believe we were staying here: the reception was beautiful and spotless. Upon checking in we were told our room was unavailable and instead they would have to put us in a senior suite opposed to a junior. We were definitely not complaining. From previous rooms we can see that others had the problem that their rooms were not available and they had to be relocated to other hotels, so I don't know if we were lucky but we were very pleased with the outcome. We stayed in that room one night and returned to reception the next day to be told again that our room wouldn't be available till later that day, but we were going to the beach. Simple: the hotel staff would move our luggage for us. After returning from the beach we received our new room keys, a map and when arriving at our room our luggage had been carefully handled. Excellent service.

The food is great, we mostly ate in our hotel. The breakfast buffet is usually same every day, but with some variants changing as the days go on. The same goes for both lunch and dinner. Some other reviews have complained about the treatment from staff regarding 'English folk'. Maybe the staff improved due to the reviews, but the staff were always friendly to us offering a smile and a wave. The man who shows you to your table, in the suit, always laughed at us as we were always the first to arrive for our meal: we were always hungry. However, what I think people need to keep in mind is that they are in a FOREIGN COUNTRY. Yes English is more a universal language, but you need to understand that not everyone will be as fluent as we are. The staff are more likely to be fluent in their own tongue.

We mostly relaxed at the pool bar during our holiday, and the bartender with the glasses (I can't remember his name!) was fantastic. Always smiling and chatting away, he engaged with everyone and we even spoke about The Hunger Games. Fransisco was the cook at the pool bar while we were there and he was fantastic, always smiling and he always cooked the food to perfection. On one day he wasn't there and it was another cook and the food wasn't as great, but Fransisco was back the next day.

The animation team were amazing, as many reviews have already said. They never stopped smiling and tried to engage with everyone. On our second day though we were badly sunburnt from the beach and this prevented us from joining in any activities - unfortunately. Even though we went as a couple and the hotel is geared towards families, it did not exclude us at all. The hotel also ha several stalls outside the restaurant some days, but the goods are great, fairly priced too and the sellers don't pressure you.

The only bad point is probably that our air conditioning wasn't working - I think the hotel sell it as a commercial good. When we were in our senior suite there was air conditioning but not in the junior, not good in the heat. If you do have to pay I think this is a negative, as most hotels provide this for free. This ties in with the safe - they work fantastic, but you have to put down a 10 euro deposit and then pay for each night at the end of your stay. As most hotels provide this, I was a little disappointed especially since the cost of the hotel.

Along with cost, the hotel does seem quite expensive. However, we booked in winter and received money off with Thomas Cook and then a further reduction. Our trip went from nearly £1,700 to just under £1,200. Quite a bit, but it was around £600 per person and the money was worth it - the food, the service, the maintained rooms, everything. I don't know if I would be willing to pay more than that though.

Overall, we were both really satisfied with our holiday and will be looking to come back later this year or next year.

Dear Nicole,

Thank you so much for your honest review on Tripadvisor.

We are very happy that you choose our Hotel to spend your first holiday with your boyfriend and that we succeed to give you a nice holiday.

Lovely to read that you liked our reception, the suites and enjoyed the staff from the restaurant, the pool bar and the animation team.

To bad that you didn’t mention the reception that the air-conditioning was not working during your stay, we could have sent somebody to repair it.

In name of my team and myself, I can tell you that we would be more than happy to welcome you again in our Dunas Suites & Villas Resort

Kind regards,

The place and weather were fabulous. The hotel as beautiful surroundings, with great heated pools, and immaculate kept gardens. The food is also very good and with lots of diversity.
The downside is the not very well maintained rooms, with some furniture needing repair or replacement.
But in general it is a very good resort, in a beautiful and calm place.
Definitely would recommend.

This was our second visit here and we loved it just as much. Rooms are large and the villas consist of bedroom, living room and bathroom all of a good size. Towels and linen changed daily and everywhere is spotlessly clean. The gardens are really pretty and there are 7 swimming pools dotted around the grounds which you can choose to use. The food is wonderful, buffet style with lots to choose from, different choices daily. The staff are really helpful and friendly. Nice location, about 10-15 minute walk to the beach but there is a courtesy bus several times each morning and afternoon which will take you there and pick you up again if you don't feel like walking. This hotel has everything you could possibly want for a nice relaxing break.

Room Tip: Rooms with a pool view are really nice, but the gardens are so pretty that even if you only have a g...

We were here the end of November 2013 for a week, it was a great relaxing time away, we had a great room location, beside reception and the main restaurant, but also beside the goods in entrance so we never got a chance to have a lie in. The area is split into 2 complexes which run into each other but June us 4 star and the other is 3 star.

We spent most days on the sun terrace in the 3 star complex as no children ever came up as there is no pool, there is a shower if you get too hot and the bar us just across from the pool. You can relax in peace and just chill. Jesus the bar tender in the 3 star is amazing, nothing was too much for, always smiling even though there are some very rude guests that gave no manners!

We enjoyed this resort so much we gave booked to come back again the end of April.

Room Tip: 5 min walk and your at the beach and restaurants
