We were moved here after being let down by the original hotel we had booked. The palm beach is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in the rooms were clean and modern the hotel layout was lovely. The beach and sand dunes were just out front of the hotel.
The food was a very high standard. The staff very friendly and tentative.
The only time I heard any of the guests moan was when they were waiting for a transfer back to the airport. All my family have enjoyed there stay here highly recommend you put it on your short list if you are visiting Gran Canaria

Room Tip: This hotel has 7 floors and 3 lifts the views from the 7th floor and the walkways are fantastic.

Our first visit to the Palm Beach – will NOT be our last.

Agree with most of what has been already said but here are a few observations:-

Staff from the manager Snr Rocio Cibrán to the cleaners, everyone was professional and courteous. All the senior staff had an excellent command of English and were happy to exchange a few words at all times.

The reception greeting was quick, friendly & efficient. The room had all you need for a holiday break ( I know you’re not there to watch TV but it had more English channels than I’ve previously experienced in Spain )

The food was excellent – well presented & of a good quality ( the best cornflakes I’ve had in a Spanish hotel ) We were concerned when we read about the barbeque but this turned out to be a buffet, which was excellent, with different themes each time.

Location is perfect – it takes approx. 5 mins to walk to the Lighthouse & shops.

The only couple of minor concerns we had were :-

Dining on the terrace is great except when you are breathing cigarette smoke from neighboring tables. There are not enough tables for non-smokers & no real signage directing non-smokers to those tables.

The beds by the pool – there are too many & laid out in rows that you could hardly get a piece of paper between – the pool boys ( who did an excellent job ) seemed to want to keep it that way and didn’t want you rotating the bed or moving it to face the sun. There were more than enough beds for the guests so by reducing the number it would allow more space to manoeuvre your bed where you want it & allow more room between your neighbor.

Really enjoyed our stay & thanks to all who made us want to return again.

Returned last week from our third visit to this hotel. Well deserves its 5 star rating with even more special touches since we stayed two years ago. Now has an evening"turn down" service and bottles of water and a chocolate provided every evening at this service. Staff are helpful, friendly and cannot do enough to ensure you have the best holiday. Food is superb with too much choice if that's possible! Any small issues are dealt with promptly by the excellent visible management team headed by Ms Cibran. She can only help if you bring any concerns to her attention while you are still there. Pool staff are wonderful. Waiters are generally exceptional- Daniel must get a special mention for going that extra mile for the guests. Housekeeping/ reception staff are cheerful and do a great job. Rooms spotless and very comfortable. Thank you all for a great relaxing holiday. We will be back!!

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the gardens. You will not be disappointed. Third floor is great. Garden s...

This was a very good hotel, not what I would call 5 star more like a 4 star. The public areas and our room were spotlessly clean. Towels, shampoo, shower gel and soap were replaced daily. Water was only supplied free in the bedroom on the basis of 2 small bottles daily. Because of the size of the hotel everything is a good walk. If you have trouble walking this may not be the hotel for you.

All the staff we came into contact with were helpful, friendly and cheerful. Most seemed to be multi lingual, switching easily between Spanish, German, English and French. The management were around the restaurant, and bar area most of the day and night and did their best to speak to everyone.

The food was excellent but limited in choice on those nights that there was no BBQ. Having said that I have dietary needs and was asked to tell the staff in the morning what I would like for dinner and the chef specially prepared my meal tailored to my requirements. Breakfast was buffet style with freshly cooked eggs, and plenty of choice.
The BBQ was not what I would call BBQ. It was buffet style food with plenty of choice, but the meat joints were roasted. Beef steaks, kebabs, chicken breasts and several types of fish were cooked to your taste on griddles while you waited. I was quite happy with this but if you expected BBQ you could be disappointed. All the food available was of the highest standard and all freshly prepared.

The entertainment was as you would expect. It was varied and was of an acceptable standard. I was worried that a 3 piece band a few feet from where we were eating was going to be intrusive but that was not the case.

There were plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas, although they were very close together and offered no privacy. We stayed at a quieter time of the year. I am not sure that in summer there would be enough beds for everyone. The "Restful pool area" was ideal as no children under 14 were allowed in the area or pool. Great if you have no kids of your own and just want to chill.

If you are night owls liking an active nightlife this hotel and area is not for you. The hotel bar closed at around 11.00pm as did the bars within walking distance. We were told the day before we left that the Pool bar should stay open until 12.00 but we had the lights turned out on us 3 times before 11.00pm and ended up taking our drinks to our room.

While we enjoyed our holiday and find it very hard to fault the hotel I did not like the area and would probably return.

Room Tip: We booked and paid for a sea view or garden view. We ended up with a corner room which was bigger bu...

This was our Second visit to this hotel, and it is in an excellent location. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Their is a great variety of foods and overall our stay was a very pleasant experience. All meals we had there were a success and particularly the barbecues. The beach is very nice and easily accessible from the hotel.

Room Tip: 7th floor excellent sea view

First impressions of this hotel or rooms will not take your breath away. However, its 5 star rating is well deserved from the attention of the excellent staff, everyone from housekeeping, reception, restaurant and pool side. We could not fault them. All the little details that make a 5 star are there. The food is probably the best we have ever had in a buffet and table d'hote hotel restaurant service. We considered the table d'hote menus on a par with what we have had in top restaurants. The pool and games areas are excellent serving families with young children and those wanting a quieter relaxation area. The only suggestions I would make to improve the experience is "clothes on" sessions in the sauna and spa areas. I don't mind nudists but not in such close proximity. A few seemed to be "parading" which isn't being cool about it. Also, the no smoking area in the restaurant was under the stairs and in the worst location. Give the non smokers an area near the buffet and the entertainment rather than make them feel like outcasts. Overall if you want a bit of late sunshine, luxury and relaxation then this hotel is excellent value for money. If you are looking for excitement or family entertainment you may be disappointed.

Room Tip: We faced out front toward the sea so it was nice and quiet. We were only the 3rd floor so I expect...

This was our second visit to this hotel and words fail to give it full praise !! From arrival to departure excellent Great food, Great Clean room, Lovely views and attentive staff. The only niggle is there seems to be this year many more heavy smokers . OK sitting outside is one thing but we were unable to fully use our balcony as a lot of the time we were sitting in an ash tray Horrible !! Told the management who said all rooms and balconies were non smoking and they would deal with it but it didn't stop. Last year it was fine so maybe we were unlucky. It just took the edge off it but would not stop another visit

Room Tip: Top floor rooms have great view
