“do not stay here”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 January 2008

Not much can be said about this place on top of do not go.
food is awful, place is dirty, bar runs out of beer daily, cockroaches all over the place, dirty sheets, smoking staff in dining hall.
Cost us an extra £500 eating and drinking out as nothing is edible. eat in town our recommendation is Roma top quality pizza, steaks pasta salad. ask also for a discount you will get it we got 20% of all the time as we ate there every night.
never again would i stay here wouldnt even let a stray dog stay.

I had the grave misfortune to choose this refuse tip for a 1-week holiday in JANUARY 2007. I had actually booked to stay at the adjoining Vistaflor Bungalows but when I turned up I was unknowingly directed to "overflow" accommodation in the Dunaflor complex. Think grubby urban council estate in the sun/cast of Little Britain on tour in Germany and you are nearly there. Replete with attitudinal single mums aplenty, obese drunken tattoed yobs, nasty obese little brats running amok - this place is the nearest I have come a vision of hell on earth.

If you are in any way discerning in terms of style and taste, this place will not only disappoint, it will shock! Hideous and vile!!!

Myself and grumpy (my partner) returned from a week's holiday here. When checking into the bungalow we were approached by a grumpy spanish man who provided us with a map to find our way to how bungalow at 5am in the bloody morning. I tell you, grumpy was not impressed.

Dunaflor kindly provided us with an extra guest on our 2nd night (a cockroach) in Grumpy's bed. Glad it wasn't in mine (eek).

I couldn't quite get my head around ham, cheese, lettuce and tomatoes for breakfast (WEIRD).

Coca cola light tasted like piss. So be aware, be very aware ....

Entertainment arrived on friday night by a spanish bloke who kindly picked me to assist him in his show. (I was NOT impressed) and to top it all Grumpy bum just sat there and laughed and laughed at me being on stage.

Anyway, beer was nice and, all in all holiday was great, but i would not recommend taking a man with you like mine on a night flight, unless aeroplanes start providing windows that open up so that you can just fling them out when they annoy you like mine did.

We arrived back yesterday and feel duty bound to warn others
The All Inclusive facillities are just so bad you need to take extra money so you can eat out The food was recycled ie; eggs from breakfast turned up in gravy at tea time ! no toast no cooked breakfast plenty of salad and salad and more salad with very unappetising undiscrible thingsto go with it . if you want a hot drink have plenty at breakfast then at 3.30 a jug of coffee appears at the outside bar(onlybar ) and is there for you to help yourself to till 4.30 with a biscuit and that is the limit of snacks , no ice creams for kids except in coin operated machine s, table tennis is available if any one ever brings bats back. the bungalows are part privately owned by spanish and being easter while we were there ,the masses descended for the weekend having eight to ten people staying in bungalows meant for four ,the pool area was so busy and there was a film of grease around the edge which made it very slippy. . Good friday . turned into a drunken brawl ending with police and ambulance, being called as over zealous weekenders exploded, with someone being hit over head with pool cue ,( I accept this couldn't be foreseen but the over population was a major part . All the spilt blood remained on the pathway for all to see.we reported back to reception(where a one star rating is displayed!) all our complaints and emailed the hotel co which said it was a three star this is definetly not a three star . The Receptionist was very nice but couldn;t help she was due to leave as she hadnt been paid . Hotel co offered to move us for a Price ! But why should wepay out more for what we were suppose to have in the first place !!!
Maspalomas is a nice area but steer clear of this accomodation .

Our party consisted of four adults and five children aged between 11 to 20, we booked last minute for half term. When we read the reviews (after we had booked) we did wonder what we were going to! This is advertised as 2 star so even though its all inclusive I didn't expect to be waited on ! The layout of the complex was great, no high rise blocks, the gardener and hotel staff kept the hotel grounds tidy. Our apartment was clean and servisable, however their was no kettle, they wanted about 20 euros to hire kettle, so we boiled a saucepan!(you could take a travel kettle)As we had three apartments , three people in each , I thought the boiler would be a problem, but it soon heated up so we didnt have a problem with water for the showers. The food was average , very continental, my youngest son (14) regularly had two platefuls plus icecream! and the eldest ,back from university, enjoyed pulling his own pints, we had our moneys worth! This was buffet style you wouldn't go hungry but it wouldn't be to everyones taste.Yes this is a german sponsored site ,so their was a lot of germans - so on a positive note we as a family learnt a bit of german and Im sure their are some germans around with more knowledge of english, ( the entertainer was fair and translated to both) The weather was glorious and we enjoyed sitting around the pool in the evening, however , their is no indoor club etc. so it would be difficult if the weather wasn't so good.I've found you usualy get what you pay for and this was very good value for money. If you like to be entertained by lots of 'butlin style' caberet then pay the extra and go elsewhere as their isn't lots of kiddyclubs, however the daily activities are free

  • Liked — the layout of the complex
  • Disliked — the paths were uneven

hello, please read this review because we like to think that we are open minded people.
we read the bad reviews after we booked the holiday and god were they right, after arriving at the complex found the accommodation to be small but clean, the pool was excellent thats where the good part ends.
went to dinner first night and the food was disguisting and stayed that way! i used to be a chef and there were things on that buffet WATCHDOG would have been interested in, we are not picky eaters but it really was bad.
then wandered to the "entertainment " area and thoght we had just walked into berlin so we started playing "spot the brit".
this complex is german run, the entertainment and entertainer( a lethargic zombie) was virtually non existent ( playing bingo with a toothpick cause they had no pens) MINI DISCO for the kids lasted all of 10 mins
please take a pack of cards and plenty extra money for going out to relieve the boredom, the poolside bar is the only one and shuts dead on 11 o clock so get a few in before to take to your bungalow, if it wasn`t for jose the waiter cheering us up it would have been worse.
the actual resort is excellent ,beach, shops, nightlife etc
but we will not be returning to dunaflor ever again

Don't be tempted in by a cheap deal to this place. I know you get what you pay for, but this place was a dump. Miles away from the beach, had to get a shuttle bus that ran once a day. 45 minute time window to eat your meals, unlucky if your slot for breakfast is...6-6.45. Mixture of stale bread, rubber cheese and ham you wouldn't feed your cheatin ex. No snacks in between and no option for off-site lunch to be taken out. Good job my friend had rather large breasts to distract the food hall patrol whilst I sneaked out some grub for a picnic. Pool had a delightful brown scum floating on top...(not just the fellow residents) and didn't even get cleaned when some local junkie came along and barfed in it. Poor excuse for a bar was just a hut by the poolside that served window cleaner and cola and closed at 11...not that you would be advised to hang around there at night anyway.
So if you literally just need a place to crash...go for it as rooms were ok. But dont waste your cash on all inclusive as you'll never eat there (you'll either miss your time slot or get quickly bored of egg sarnies)
