“We'll be back!”
Reviewed 27 July 2014

My husband and I stayed at Ifa Faro 15th - 26th July and from check-in we loved it!! The room was clean and spacious with a well appointed bathroom and baloncy. The location too was perfect for us, bordering as it does on Meloneras.....a shopper's dream! Staff in the hotel were polite, courteous and kind; nothing was too much trouble. We stayed on a half-board basis and found a great variety of food available at both breakfast and evening meal times which are available during a three hour timeframe respectively. Since we were late checking-in on 15th and had missed our evening meal, we were provided with lunch on our day of departure which we thought most considerate. The standard of hygiene in all areas was excellent. Although the hotel provided entertainment in the evening, this was over at a reasonable time and with no noisy clubs nearby it was much easier to sleep. Easy access to taxis and buses. Perfect chill-out and we can't wait to go back!!

Room Tip: We stayed on the east side of the hotel - beautiful sunshine in the morning; out of sun in the after...

Super hotel with great location right on the beach , all on the flat and close to many restaurants and shops. Hotel caters mainly for adults [no kids' clubs or children's pool] and had very few British people staying there [mainly German and Spanish guests aged over 40!] One big, warm pool only, but loungers are reserved for you when you arrive so there is no need for towels to be put on chairs at the crack of dawn! Highlight of our stay was the food which was just superb! We took half board and enjoyed our evening meal there every night outside overlooking the sea! Breakfast was excellent too with all you could wish for [ hot or cold] It's buffet meals but the selection was different every night and although there for a fortnight we were never bored as the selection of food was so varied! Staff were also very efficient at clearing plates and replenishing empty platters. A special mention must go to the starters and desserts at the hotel which were different every night and irresistible! Room was a twin side sea view overlooking the dunes, very spacious with balcony that had two loungers on it and table and chairs. The safe in room had however to be paid for! Large bathroom, kept spotlessly clean every day as was the rest of the hotel by very diligent friendly staff! We took a helicopter ride over the island, went on the submarine at Puerto Mogan, hired a car, drove round the island and visited the spa at the Villa Conde hotel nearby. All this was arranged by the Thomson rep in the hotel and all were excellent especially the helicopter trip! The trip to the moonlit cinema nearby is not to be missed either! The films change every night and we loved eating pizza and watching the film on our two seater couch with the duvet round us when the evening got chilly. Evening entertainment at the hotel tended to be the usual singers etc ! Wine was quite expensive in the hotel but there were lots of supermarkets nearby where you could buy drinks and wine etc and keep in the fridge in the room! Penguin ice cream shop on the promenade is worth a visit for its delicious cakes and many varieties of ice cream! Would we return - certainly as we felt this hotel was very good value indeed! If you are looking for a quiet peaceful holiday with excellent food, super beach, excellent service and warm sea to swim in on the doorstep then this is for you!

Room Tip: Side sea rooms overlooking the dunes got sun in the morning only!

Can't fault this hotel. From the moment we arrived until the (sad) moment we left we were well looked after. Check-in was efficient and we were allocated a side-view room which was consisted of a very large and comfy bed, large bathroom. Room was cleaned and fresh towels every day by a very friendly cleaner. Breakfast was one of the best we have ever had - plentiful and everything freshly made for you. Sunbeds - you can pick your own beds by the pool and these are yours for the duration of your stay, which is a great idea. Hotel is practically on the beach, great location with less than a minutes walk to the shops and restaurants. Good restaurant is The House and also The 19th Hole. Good ice-cream can be bought at the Penguin.Gym is well equipped and has a large wall-mounted TV which helps take the pain away from your workout. The hotel, pool and grounds are all maintained to an extremely high standard and cleaners seem to be constantly at work. Receptionists are very efficient and friendly - they checked us onto our return flight on-line and printed off our boarding passes while we went out for our eventing meal.

Dear Guest,

Thank you very much for choosing IFA Faro Hotel and thank you very much for sharing your personal experience on Trip Advisor hotels´ world reference.

About the lack of parking in the hotel, it is real. But as you could see, it is due to its location. We are directly one step to the sea & nextdoor to the lighthouse. We offer other parking possibilities just 5 minutes walking from the hotel.

We would love receiving you once again and thank you very much for sharing your experience.

Kind regards.

The only recomendation I have is that the instructions for programming safe in room omits to tell you that after programming your PIN number you should press * button to save changes. This is not a complaint, but the only area of opportunity for improvement as our 10 day stay was fantastic in every way for a couple who wanted a peaceful relaxing place to stay but only a short taxi away from the "madness" of Playa Del Inglis if you fancy a wee crazy night out!

Really nice hotel, in a fantastic location right on the beach front. I went during June/July 2014 and as much as I enjoyed it, it was quite isolating for an English person on the poolside and at breakfast, as the hotel had pretty much exclusively German guests. I think I heard one other English family speak during my entire 8-night stay. A few Spanish guests arrived for the weekend but as I went on my own, I felt quite lonely!
No problem with bagging a sunbed, as you reserve a bed for the length of your stay.
I only stayed on a B&B basis so didn't try out the food, other than breakfast, which was also a bit too geared towards German clientele really. I am 41 years old but was probably the youngest person there - average age is probably around 60 or older. Mainly couples.
I would dine out every night in order to find some company that I could communicate with. I would go to the Grand Italia restaurant most nights, as the staff there were so nice and there were some English diners to converse with.
I wouldn't stay there again but only because of the lack of other English-speaking guests. It's a really nice place to stay - very clean - very smart - wonderful location.

Room Tip: I had a room on the side overlooking El Senador restaurant (room 1129) but this was fine. It was qu...

Our return visit confirmed all the excellence, high standards, very friendly staff, well-appointed rooms and extensive food choices that we enjoyed last year in this spotlessly clean oceanfront hotel.
