IFA Faro is in the centre of Meloneras, it has I think 190 rooms altho does not sit in huge grounds. We liked it very much because we thought it was a relaxed hotel and not too frenetic or overpopulated. The staff are brilliant, the food is good an nothing seemed to be skimped on. They gave us a room upgrade on arrival and we liked that so have actually paid for this on our next trip (already booked !). The hotel claims they do not cater for Children altho there were one or two in the hotel. I Found little to fault with the hotel except perhaps the rather quirky idea of allocating people poolside beds - we did not hand our vouchers in because it seems little daft to allocate people a bed in either the sun or shade.

Room tip: Ask for a Dunes view

Recently enjoyed an extended weekend at the IFA Faro Hotel. From the money we arrived we were looked after by Sara on reception who was truly fabulous - a breath of fresh air to the hotel. She was friendly, informative and went the extra a mile to help.

Rooms are lovely, bathroom/dressing area - great idea!

Sun-loungers - you are given the option to select you subbed for the duration of your stay, super idea took the stress out of the 'got to get up and get your lounger' left you able to relax in the morning, enjoy the breakfast - which is most enjoyable, has everything you could wish for! Omelette station was my personal favourite.

Located perfectly, you are literally on the beachfront (our room had stunning views)

Internet is free in the lobby and to be honest it was nice not to have it available everywhere it allows you to keep in touch but also switch off from the world around the pool and in your room. I believe you can buy access to internet everywhere but I didn't feel the need.

Local restaurants are beautiful, our favourite by a mile is 'Grand Italia' super for fresh fish, steak or pasta dishes in 5 nights we eat there 3 times. But there's lots of others to choose from.

If you book this hotel, you won't be disappointed it's that simple. Book and enjoy!

The IFA Faro overlooks the sea, sand dunes and is an excellent location in the resort of Maspalomas. The hotel is small compared to other hotels in the area - 170 bedrooms. The entrance is smart in appearance and the check in was simple enough if a little slow, the lifts to the floors were quick and we never had to wait more than a couple of minutes, the rooms are large with plenty of storage space and a sitting area with the usual TV, safe, and mini bar. The paid WI-FI in room was good and seldom dropped the connection. The bathroom was good size with shower in tub, good water pressure the whole room was well cleaned on a daily basis, we were on the fourth floor overlooking the sand dunes and had a large balcony with the usual table and 2 chairs but also two sun beds which were very useful for the morning sun direct onto the balcony. The only negative of the in room appliances was the air conditioning which worked OK but was not strong enough. The exterior of the hotel is also beginning to show its age.
The pool area was a good size with plenty of sun beds and the allocation system seemed to work well. There were also a couple of outside sitting areas ,and a nudist roof terrace with fake grass and about 20 sun beds .The bar was just off the reception and entertainment was provided each evening .The restaurant was a good size with air conditioning, a nice ambience and never overcrowded. The breakfast was excellent with great choice even down to a 4 minute or a five minute boiled egg. The evening meal, as someone commented previously I found to be a little messy. There was a good selection of salads and fruits but the main courses were all gathered in a small area that only one person could serve themselves at a time and although there was rice and pasta and various potatoes finding an accompaniment was sometimes difficult. The food, always well cooked was often quite tasteless, even for an international menu. There was also a nice display of deserts but again unfortunately most tasted very similar. More isn’t always better, perhaps fewer with more flavour.
Every member of staff we came into contact with was friendly, pleasant and helpful from reception to restaurant, maintenance and cleaning staff and I would highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Maspalomas looking for quiet comfortable accommodation.

We had a sea view room - well worth it. The room itself was large and well furnished, if a little quirky, with the separate WC and shower room having frosted glass doors that left little to the imagination!
The view and the accompanying noise of the waves breaking on the shore was delightful.
The restaurant buffets were splendid with a multitude of delicious choices.
The public areas were very pleasant and comfortable. The pool area was very inviting and the public beach and the sea were only a few steps away.
The front of hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Some of the restaurant staff could however be brusque and rude on occasions especially when busy.
All in all a very good hotel that we were sorry to leave.

Room tip: Choose sea view room but not directly above the bar if you like an early night.

Just spent five nights in this hotel on a Titan Tour of the Canaries, This was the venue for the last five nights, and we were delighted with the welcome and relaxation. The hotel is sited right on the beach, between the edge of the dunes and the new Lopesan hotels and shopping complexes on its other side. There are board walks to the dunes, and a long promenade between the sea and the new complexes the other way. The long beach is very popular, and always has a large number of people on it.
The Hotel rooms are very well appointed, and well looked after. Breakfast is a very generous affair with a wide range of choice. The evening meals also offer a large range of self service choice, suffering only slightly from the 'buffet effect'.

The staff really want you to enjoy your stay with them!

Room tip: Many dune facing rooms also have a sea view, more privacy than the sea front balconies and give you afternoon shade in the hot sun.
