I have lived on Gran Canaria for a little more than two years now and we are always on the lookout for Quality Restaurants....This is one of them and again such a lovely refreshing change from all the 'Junk' that pollutes the streets everywhere in the south of Gran Canaria.

The decor of the restaurtant, the Menu and the view are just impecable, they even have a lovely seating area outside with some nice cushions and drapes all over...

The service and the food. I came here for a drink the first time and loved the little touches of quality, even little extras served with drinks.
A couple of days later we came for Dinner, lovely menu and wine list with service to match. I tried the the pasta dish with smoked salmon and caviar, my partner tried the seafood pasta..I really enjoyed mine but did feel that there was just something missing, not from the flavour of the dish but maybe some small side decoration as there was just the Pasta and nothing else...My partners dish was not as 'Hot' as he would have liked it therefore he did not enjoy his food as much as I did, it's very important to serve food hot of course..

But dont worry, we will be back, because this place looks very promising to us, set in the best location. Infact the only thing that did spoil it (a little) was the 'Music' coming from the pile of outdated, junk restaurants from below, we all know that they need to be pulled down, cash pumped in and rebuilt to this years standards, and not remain in business with the same design as '80's restaurants...Hello Gran Canaria !
With that said congratulations to the owners of 'Pastagramma' see you again soon..

Dear 'Rigboy', we really appreciate your review and especially the two critical details: we will certainly take account of them!
It isn’t easy to decorate a plate of fresh pasta (pasta with red salmon and caviar), but we shall try.
In Italy the new cuisine’s fashion is bringing down the stress on the ‘decoration’ of the plates, in order to go back to goodness, simplicity and quality of the ingredients with a recovery of traditional recipes and flavours. But we understand that ‘Image’ plays an important role in the global taste - so to speak – of a plate!
We believe that human being relishes even and especially with eyes.
About the dish not as 'hot' as you partner wanted, we can only apologize for the inconvenience!
The kitchen team is training up day by day, and - unfortunately - sometimes they make mistakes...
Thank you once again for your review: it’s very useful for our growth.
We wish you and your partner all the best!

The restaurant isn't the easiest to find as you need to take the stairs at the back of a half finished shopping mall, so I suspect it suffers from a lack of passing trade. When we got there the place was dead, so we took a table over looking the beach. We picked our starters and an accompanying wine (the waitress then suggested one she thought we might prefer that was actually cheaper - and was a fantastic choice). We opted for the ham and melon and the bruschetta, both of which were superb. The quality continued into the mains where my girlfriends tagliatelle marinara was bursting from the seams with perfectly cooked sea food, including a whole baby lobster. Again the desserts were of the highest order and we were given some complimentary limoncello's to end our evening.
However what really sets this restaurant apart is the level of service. The staff were friendly, funny and knowledgeable, there to top up your wine glass as soon as it crossed your mind that it needed doing, but they never hovered or stayed too long. At the end of the night the manager not only called us a taxi, he then walked us to the stop and waited with us until it arrived. We were so impressed we went back 2 days later for my birthday were I was given a little Strawberry Crostini birthday 'cake' on the house.
Please take an evening to go along and support this business, they fully deserve it and it will provide a high point to your holiday no matter what else you get up to.

Dear Peter, special thanks not only by us but also by the waiters and Gustavo in particular.
However, the restaurant is not always as empty as when you came, thankfully!
We opened at the end of May 2012 ... It is not so much, and slowly, customers begin to know, through word of mouth and Tripadvisor.

We are glad that you enjoyed the tart with pastry cream and strawberries for your birthday! A thought that was improvised, done at the last minute!

Thank you for the beautiful words of support and for the best wishes for success!
We wish you good luck and all the best!

I honestly did not expect to find one of the bestIalian restaurants I have ever eaten in on Gran Canaria!!! Let's face it, most of the restaurants on the south of the island are mediocre serving greasy food ordered off a picture menu in 5 languages!!!

This place is totally different. Really great food. I had the carpaccio starter and bruschettas followed by the pasta 4 formagio and the pesto pasta!! Really, everything was perfect!! Great balance of flavors. Homemade pasta cooked to perfection! Good sized portions.

I cant say enough about the food!

The location is a bit out of the waybut worth the drive. Also, be sure to find the stairs cause it is not obvious how to get to the restaurant!! Its above a bunch of thse mediocre tourist trap restaurants i mentioned earlier.

I cant say much morethan we are gong back tonight and i dont particularly like Italian food.

Dear Brian, a special thanks for you directions on how to reach us!
We chose the Shopping Center Playa Meloneras for two reasons: the view is unique and by the end of September the sun sets into the sea, with spectacular colors and in winter, the night, the moon reflectes in the ocean. Fantastico!
The second reason is that the Shopping Center Playa Meloneras is different from the usual shopping centers: it's all in the open air, overlooking the ocean (it was built by Lopesan, with his great taste and style, although for the moment there are not shops).
Thank you again for the great review and we hope to meet again!

Dear 'dottdegnomis' .
Your review has great value to us, because you're Italian! We too, when we travel abroad, are disappointed by the poor quality of Italian restaurants ... This was one of the main reasons that led us to try to redeem the bad reputation of Italian restaurants all over the world. It 'a small thing that we're doing, but certainly we put quality first and we hope that customers change their point of view about italian food! Not all italians are the same...
Thank you again!

I'm sorry not to share most of other people's advise. i went there with my family upon tripadvisor's reco.
First of all, the food is nothing special, really; and totally overpriced: 25 euro for small portion of salmon on a cold advocado sauce; the pasta portion is - even for a kid that is 10 years old - really unsufficiant.
Secondary, the location is okay as it has a nice view and the seating is modern and the service is very kind BUT who would want to be sitting in the corridor of a shopping mall, listening to music of the 50,80,90 all mixed as... the many restaurants surrounding the place all wants to play the loudest cheesy music as possible.

Good mornig and thank you for your criticism that, even if severe in judgment, gives us good ideas for improvement.

The main criticism has been given to the atmosphere: I agree with the fact that our music, mixed with that of the adjacent rooms, may have bothered.

Regarding the criticism about the weiht of the portions, I have to underline that this is the first time that a customer is not satisfied. The dose we use for pasta (fresh) is always the same: 130 grams (not cheap).

Also with regard to the salmon, the weight that we use for a portion is of 200/230 gr. (The recommended dose is 100 g). The portion is real big (there is a photo of the single portion of Salmon Pastagramma) on Facebook and on web site

The preparation of salmon involves a variety of processes: acidification, marinating, cooking confit vacuum at low temperature, which makes the dish a bit more expensive than a simple grilled fillet.
The avocado sauce musto not be served hot (it would be a crime...).

If you return here I would be happy to show our kitchen and the staff who lovingly takes care of the preparation of fresh sauces, pasta and desserts: all homemade.
Best regards.
Carlo
