The Vista Oasis is quite cheap, actually it’s very cheap so as expected it’s not the Hilton it’s not a 5 Star hotel so dont expect it. What it is though is brilliant value for money and it all you need for a self-catering family holiday in Gran Canaria. The bungalow is basic but clean and comfortable, twin bedroom and a sitting room with twin settee/beds. There’s a two ring hob, cups, plates, a fridge, shower and a toilet everything you could want on a family holiday really. It’s away from the town and beach which some people seem to think was a problem but that’s exactly why we chose it, it’s lovely and quiet at night, there are no noisy bars, club’s, tribute singers or Karaoke past 11pm but there is plenty of transport, some of it free for getting about if you do fancy venturing away from the hotel. The locals in the area and in the shops and the small Grills and Restaurants were really very friendly. In the rooms there’s no air-con (it’s cheap to stay here remember) and being as you are in Gran Canaria (just of the coast of Western Sahara) it gets quite hot so that’s not much of a surprise but be aware. Apparently you have to pay extra for a TV and a toaster, though I don’t know what sort of person goes on holiday and just watches TV eating toast. Watching TV was the last thing I wanted to do and there are other foods in the world to eat other than toast, and I didn’t eat at the hotel so I can’t pass comment on the food. The pool area gets quite busy in the day but we managed to find somewhere to sit every time we went there even if it wasn’t always in the best spot. The staff we did encounter were helpful and friendly and all spoke better English than most of the staff you find in British hotels, and certainly better than I speak Spanish! Compared to how much we paid to stay at the Vista Oasis it was all in all brilliant value for money can’t fault it at all.

We have just returned from a week AI at the vista oasis , on seeing reviews before we went I was a bit apprehensive but when we got there was pleasantly surprised, the rooms were big enough for our family of 2 adults 2 young children , the pool is nice and looks cloudy because its not a fresh water pool and tastes a bit salty but splash pool is fresh water , around the pool area its nice and plenty of sun beds but get there early, food was ok for a 2 -3 key, only problem i found was that they only done chips and 1 pasta dish maybe they should add another option, but we ate out a couple of nights anyway, it was always easy to order drinks at the bar and they didnt mind giving you more than 1 at a time. To be honest for the money we paid in high season was only about £200 more than s/c so think we had a good deal.

The hotel is about a 10 minute taxi into town approx 3-4euros and about the same to aqualand water park which is fantastic if you love slides and pools but is a bit pricey 65euros for our family with a 12discount flyer given to us on arrival at the airport (well worth looking out for the ladies handing them out)

Would i return here probably not due to its location I would probably go back to puerto rico where most hotels are closer to the centre and beach, but on saying that if the price was right i might be tempted.
Dont be put off by bad reviews, the staff were friendly and we didnt come across anyone that was rude, and if your looking for somewhere in a quiet location then this is ideal but fussy eaters may want to go self catering.

Room Tip: we was in 123 which is away from the pool area so less noise, it was sunny until about 4 pm on terrace

We have just came back from this hotel omg they should turn it into a 18to30s when you want no frills we got there at 11 ocklock at night not even a drink of water and nothing was open,no air con in the room so it was boiling hot on a night towels were thread bear pillows like a bag of cotton wool and also bed sheets had holes in was terrible food was awful just a few choices of fatty meat slop only one choice of sweet and nothing on for kids the swimming pool and that was it there also are Spanish family's rent them and invite all there family over and they were up till all hours we payed 5oo pound each for the time of year good price but by god you only get what you pay for ! On the plus side we met some lovely people and the island is beautiful the beaches at Puerto Rico were Fab and Playa del ingles and the markets just a shame we picked the worst hotel I've ever been in as the place itself is lovely!

Room Tip: Just try and get one near pool or pick another hotel !

We have visited these bungalows twice, and already booked for another visit. It is not 5 star, but is not advertised as such. It is clean and comfortable and we have never had a problem here. We always have been self-catering so cannot comment on the food which others may have commented on. It is in a quiet part of the resort, but for us that is part of the attraction.

We have just been (group of 5) for a week at Vista Oasis. We arrived after surprisingly great flights and transfers with Ryanair and were quickly checked in to our bungalows. We were given 2 bungalows just away from the pool, initially we were worried that 1 of us would have to sleep on the sofa bed, but actually this was fine - if not better because you could open the door and get a breeze.

Bungalows - Great size with bedroom, bathroom, lounge, large terrace and kitchen/diner. The shower was very good and we had clean towels, toilet roll and a selection of pots and pans, cups etc.. Very handy when making coffee and sandwiches, lots of space in the fridge for Cerveza! The lack of fans and A/C was apparent some nights when it was very stuffy, but manageable. We spent ls of time on 1 balcony for evening drinks - perfect!

Staff - I can not say a bad word! All the people I meet were fantastic with a capital F! Even when sometimes arriving at 3am after a trip t the Yumbo! The manager nicely got rid of a honey bee nest for me (although another one did appear they were harmless, looked like sleeping lol!). Always ordered taxi and very polite.

Complex - Just on the outskirts in Sonneland - this I preferred as it was quieter. You can use the bus free of charge to the beach and back or simply pay 4 euro in taxi to get pretty much anywhere! Few shops and bars and a nice restaurant down the road, perfect pool - clean every day and plenty of loungers. Free Ping Pong and other activities. Glad we went self catering as entertainment was lacking and food regular buffet, had breakfast one day and cant quibble for 4 euro!

All in all I was really impressed and would stay here again! (Beware when you check in and they give you the safe key, you do have to pay!) Glad we did though :) ENJOY IF YOUR GOING!!!! CANT WAIT TO GO BACK!

Room Tip: Just back away from pool.
