Bungalows Vista Oasis Apartments
Ranked #83 of 217 Hotels in Maspalomas
Reviewed 21 August 2013

I have just arrived back from an 11 night All inclusive stay at the Vista Oasis and can honeslty say that I was happy with everything. The food is very repetitive but there is always something for you to eat. Breakfast is toast, croissants, freshly baked biscuits, fried, scrambled and boiled eggs, beans, bacon, sausage, tomatoes and peppers. You can also have cereals (choice of 2 or 3) yoghurt, fruit, cheese and ham, tea, coffee and juices. It's not like home but edible. Lunch/dinner is a choice of a chicken, turkey, fish, pork and pasta dish (burgers and hotdogs also at lunch) chips and again ham. cheese, fruit and a small selection of salad (toms, onions, cucumber, carrot, cabbage, lettuce, sweetcorn and sometimes coleslaw) also bread rolls and soup of an evening. Ice cream is available at lunch and dinner. The bar is open from 11-11 and we never had a problem when getting drinks. The staff are all very nice if not a bit quiet but Carla on reception cannot do enough for you.
The bungalows are great, the sheets were changed 4 times and the room cleaned with new toilet rolls every other day. Yes there are chips in some tiles in the bathroom and balcolny but nothing major. We didn't have air conditioning and so it was mega hot in the appartment of an evening as there was a heat wave on whilst we were there. The pool is very warm and clean but there were a lot of people there when we went and so it did get a bit dirty at times but it is cleaned daily. There are 2 pool tables, ping pong and an air hockey table WIFI is only available in the reception. There are a couple of spars, chinese, steakhouse, pizzeria and tourist shop all within 5/10 walking distance. If you want exciting then you will need to go further into town, we never paid more than 5.50 euros in a taxi and we went to Aqualand and the beach. The evening entertainment at the hotel is karaoke on a monday (2 hours only), bingo (5 euros a ticket!!!), childrens magician(the bloke who does the daytime activities lol), spanish music band. In the daytime they might do a pool or table tennis tournament and they did play water polo a couple of times. There were a lot of spanish there who took over with a lot of this which was annoying but what can you do.
Overall I was happy with the place, but there is a lot that coudl be improved. Would i stay again, yes but would make sure that I went with a few more people for entertainment

Room Tip: Free bus to the beach daily

Have nothing but good things to say about the Vista Oasis. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. Situated in a nice quiet area, a €4 cab ride to the lively Playa del Ingles. If you want a nice, cheap getaway, then look no further. Free wifi, and all you need: Bed, shower and kitchenette. Enjoyed it so much, we're heading back in November! Granted, it's not 'The Ritz', but doesn't claim to be. Thoroughly worth the time and money spent there :)

As a family we have not had a holiday for some time so please bear this in mind with my comments. We wanted a holiday all inclusive with a budget in mind like most families. Gran Canaria as a holiday destination is beautiful for this time of year August 2013. Maspolamas Vista Oasis holiday reviews really put us off as a family and to be honest we had to stop looking at them and make our own mind up once we got there. On arrival at the Vista Oasis reception the staff where very polite(With broken English). We had a bungalow a short distance from the pool and restaurant (thank god, I will explain further on). Our view from the apartment overlooked the Playa del ingles and the sea. (All good so far). Food - If you like chips with everything you will be ok, but to be honest not good really. One of the biggest things that put us off as a family is the smell of the toilets whist eating (Proper bad day/night). The pool was lovely for a while until lumps pf poo started bobbing about (Kids ones). There where quite a few Spanish families there on their holidays and they can be very noisy and they stay in groups (Took over the pool). The Sun whilst we was there was very strong (African Sun they call it) I would advise sun factor 50 to start for all the family (you will get a tan depends how long you stay for) we ended up on factor 15 before we left and had a good tan. Families - To be honest it was like the Jeremy Kyle show mixed with Butlins and Benidorm !. We did meet some lovely people which made our last couple of days brilliant (Thank you). Overall - I was informed the site was a 2 star however I would give it a 1(My opinion). Advise - Spend a little more and stay elsewhere until it improves. I would go back to Gran Canaria but not here...... Oh before I forget they had cock roaches and had to call in the pest people before we left (Bloody big ones)

this is a truthfull review and i have to say yes i only paid very little for ten days with 2 kids and 2 adults but hated it awful, first day i got there was like faulty towers the reception our room was 86 right next to reception room ok, hairs on floor , what looks like to be sick up there door in the bathroom,, ants everywhere, even had a nasty cockrach in the night we got back on the wall in the living area, rooms are very hot you can hire a fan for 10 euros for 7 days there rubbish cost less than a tenner to buy. i went self catering i was going to upgrade to all inc for 19 euros a day pp, had a walk round first seen a nasty pond that stunk right next to the restaurant food, put me off, the food looked disgusting every single english person i spoke to complained the food was rank, a friend was sick all night because she had been drinking pina colarda from there to find it was bottle stuff and out of date, theres no entertainment only karaoke on a monday for 2 hours and bingo as and when in the week, the spanish tend to hog the sun loungers and the pool and even started fighting last week and causing trouble and police arrived at the hotel . Pool is ok water is grim and tiles fallen off every where, if you want tv its 2 euros a day and 5 deposit you get bbc one and horror channel and thats it rest in spanish. theres 2 shops there a good along the road the spar and also next to the spar is a nice pizza takeaway place, we spent most of our time in playa del ingles wish to god we went there so much better everything there, yumbo centre is brillaint and you can get cheaper all inc there and better just wished i read the reviews before i booked this place. taxis 3 euros in the day to playa del ingles and 4 to 5 at night, so tenner a day and worth every penny . its a 45 min walk to beach in maspolmas nice walk we did a few times and got taxi back, we walked along maspolmas beach to playa del ingles but you will walk through a nude zone lol. theres a car hire place along the road to vista oasis dont use it , go to playa del ingles much cheaper . puerto rico is lovely place to go as well we hired a car to go there for the day, gran canaria it self is lovely but honeslty if you want to sit round a pool all day eat vile food and be bored and everything far away this place is for you , it nearly ruined my holiday but i made sure it didnt booked somewhere else this place ruins what gran canaria is all about

Room Tip: book somewhere else

Stayed at vista oasis bungalows on july 24th-31st, with my husband and two boys aged 8 and 2. We had no major issues, a little cause for concern here and there like ants in our bathroom, cold shower and poor quality food. On a positive note, maid service was prompt, pool was cleaned every morning and staff were friendly and spoke a little English. Breakfast meals were not bad, eadible at the most. We were half board so did not have lunch, but when I did see the lunch options all I seem to see was cheap burgers and hot dogs. Dinner one evening was a lovely chicken in a bbq sauce which we all loved....until I cut my last piece in half to se blood, veins etc- put me right off. My boys loved the pool, especially my 2 year old in the baby pool which was shallow enough for him to splash around in without me running after him every minute of the day.Maspolomas beach is a free, 10 min bus drive. And the water park Aqualand again 5 mins away, 5 euros in a taxi is VERY expensive- take a picnic! All in all we enjoyed our holiday, if you want a better quality experience in terms of luxury, food etc then pay a little more and stay elsewhere- this was an 'OK' hotel based on the price we paid.

Room Tip: We were in room 41- right opposite tennis court. no issues.

I've stayed here three times, if you want 5 Star you need to pay for it. Comfortable in a quiet area, restaurant OK you get what you pay for poolside area really nice. If you have mobility difficulties. The bungalows are on a hill
