“Great Restaurant attached!!”
Reviewed 16 March 2013

Accommodation was very basic but we knew that before we went. The rooms are kept clean but they are so dated that no amount of cleaning will make them look any better. Its a shame really because they would be well worth updating properly, i was also surprised about having to hire kettles/toasters etc... never had to do this before, they really should be included. Its a lovely quiet holiday spot, the surrounding areas out side the Capri are pretty and looked after. There is a massive roundabout which is also a park with an out door gym. This acommodation is very near to Holiday World so great if u have kids. We did not attempt the walk to the beach, bit to far, but taxis are cheap and there is a complimentary bus 3 times a day.
The pool area and grounds are very well kept and really pretty. Sunbeds could do with covers on just for added comfort.
The best part of our stay was the restaurant attached to the accommodation, the staff were fantastic, so welcoming and entertaining. The food was excellent. It was often very busy early on in the evening so after 8 is a good time to go for dinner as it quietens down. There is also entertainment most evenings. We had a drink in there every night even if we did not eat just to say hello to the staff.
If you dont like the sound of the accommodation please dont discount eating in the restaurant if you are staying elsewhere near by, you will not be disappointed. Thanks to Andreas and his great team of staff.

we have stayed her before ,these r very basic bungalows and when i say basic i mean basic, however they are a good size and you have your own front and back garden, the setting for these bungalows is lovely the pool area is nice so is the bar area and restraunt also a well stocked supermarket!you are also just over the road from a really good market,we stayed at xmas, the kitchen is not good ,you have to hire a toaster and a kettle which i think should be in any basic kitchen but to be honest most low buget accom does not have these simple things!this is my only bug bear i like it here its peaceful and the staff are lovely even got a security guard on at night !its a great place to relax and get away from it all, they are updating the tv channels and internet system soon !we will stay here again and would consider stayin here for a month (i would take toaster and kettle),long walk to the beach but we love walking ,but you can get free bus provided by hotel.if you want to be where its all happening dont stay here its just a nice place to unwind!

Room Tip: try and get a bungalow near the pool are you get the sun all day!

We stayed at Capri Bungalows for 3 weeks(15. dec till 0401 jan). We had the best time ever. The rooms were not new or fancy, but because of the place, sun from 0830 till 0830(am, pm) and a very helpfull staff this was wonderfull. The Capri restaurant was incredible. This small restaurant served the best food you can imagine. And the Andre and Louiz, owners, were fantastic. If you are looking for roomservice and luxury, this aint the place, but if you are looking for a place to spend a good time with your family, this is really the place:)

Room Tip: Ask for A20 till A30, than you will have sun all day long:)

Went over the new year for festivities only to be greeted by a man on reception who was half asleep. The flora around the apartments were very nice and the pool area, however the inside was 1970's prism beds complete with slightly stained bed sheets. Also every morning there were ants on the kitchen worktops and to expect to pay for basic requirements such as a kettle and a modern television took me back to my first package holiday in 1976. The restaurant next door however was exceptional for the cost and the family who ran the restaurant created a very nice vibe. Finally you pay for what you get so don't expect any quality.

Cheap and Basic accomodation, a little out of the way but there is a free bus to the beach or if you like walking.... There are two types of rooms, one has an upstairs bedroom and bathroom with living/kitchen downstairs, the second are bungalows which all face the main road - can be noisy.
All accomodation is dated and well worn, but its all relative to the price you pay....we stayed from Boxing day till 2nd Jan and would not have been able to go to GC without cheap accomodation like this....the saying you get what you pay for springs to mind.
We walked to CC Gan Chaperal most days for cheap beer and good food (the walk is about 1.5 miles)
Recent photos of Capri Bungalows are accurate.

Room Tip: Kim's bar at CC Gran Chaperral for cheap beer and excellent food. Free bus to beach..

After ending up on this holiday by getting a last minute deal we did not expect much. We tried to make the best of it but there is only so much you can take. First, when we arrived we had to pay a ridiculous amount for crappy crappy air conditioning that didn't manage to keep working for the two weeks we were there. We soon discovered that our front door wasnt working. It usually took about ten minutes to open or lock. When we told one of the staff about our problem, all we got was a shrug of the shoulders. The bungalow it self was clean enough and was clearly every second day or so. But no matter how clean you had the place there was always a visit or two from cockroaches. As for the atmosphere in the hotel, there was none. After a few days all of the Irish were going back home so there was no craic to be had. Most of the bungalows were still occupied however, mainly with children that had no self control or had no knowledge of socially acceptable behaviour. The onsite restaurant was the one good thing about the bungalows. Great food at great prices and friendly staff that were not affiliated with the bungalow staff. Maspalomas it self was dead. There was a leisure centre just down the road that was great entertainment but there was no where decent to eat really. The near by shopping centre was a ghost town, literally. There was three restaurants and one super market and that was it. A huge three story shopping centre was empty because of the recession basically. If you were only going here for one week it wouldnt be so bad, but when you are there for two weeks you get sick of the same restaurants. There was a shuttle bus to the beach every day, which was great but the last returning bus was at about 4pm which seemed early for me. There was only a few little shops near the beach where you could get something for lunch, but nothing that fancy. The next big shopping centre that wasnt deserted was called Yumbo in Playa de Ingles, which was about a 4 euro taxi ride away. It was a very vibrant centre with lots of restaurants, shops and entertainment. However, that was it, nearly every other shopping centre on the map provided to us was deserted. When we asked the locals why it was so quiet they told us that the winter months are now their busy season and its quite dead during the summer. So to summaries, I wouldnt really recommend going to Maspalomas and I without a doubt would not recommend Capri Bungalows, pictures can be very deceiving. There are much nicer places on the island to stay, including Peurto Rico.
