Just got back from a weeks stay at the Palm Oasis, we had a lovely relaxing time here. We were allocated a room on the top floor overlooking the pool and out over Maspolomas, the views were lovely. The whole pool area was very pretty, lots of palm trees and and colourful flowers. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable with a lounge, full kitchen with all the utensils you need, a separate bedroom, and a very spacious bathroom, with spa bath, separate shower cubicle and twin sinks. The room had a balcony with a wicker and glass table and 4 chairs, there were also 2 very comfortable loungers. The pool area was very clean and the pools were lovely and cleaned regularly. There was the usual early risers for the sun-beds, but i would say if you were down before 9am you would get a reasonable placed bed, if you came down later you probably get a bed but not pool side. A word of warning though, if you put your towels down before 8am and leave them, the pool police will collect them up and put a green ticket round the bed and you then had to get your towels from the reception after a telling off. Lol!
The people who were holidaying while we were there varied in nationality, which i liked, it was generally not to noisy in the pool area and people in general seemed very polite and friendly. The pool bar was also very good, with 2 happy hours with buy one get one free. The staff were friendly too. The gardens around the pool were very pretty, with the paths wandering through the resort surrounded by very colourful flowers. The main building was at the front of the complex with the surrounding rooms being bungalows which also looked very pretty. The whole hotel and buildings looked very clean and well maintained. All of the hotel staff were very polite and friendly and always gave a hello in passing.
The immediate area around the hotel had a few facilities that cater for all your needs, a couple of supermarkets (spar), a pharmacist, and a few restaurants. One of the local restaurants ( El Carreton) we visited a few times as it was just a short walk and we couldn't be bothered to go to far, and the food here was lovely and very good value, the staff were also very friendly. If you wanted to venture into the main area of Maspalomas there were always taxis just outside the Palm Oasis and a taxi ride to the Lighthouse area cost about 5 euros each way. Playa del Ingles is about the same price in the taxi. There is a small shopping mall about a 10 minute walk away, but the walk is not the best of routes, especially if you have young children. I suspect it wouldn't cost much moe than 3 or 4 euros in a taxi. I loved my week here, and found it very relaxing, and the Palm Oasis was perfect for us, i would definitely recommend this to our friends, we went on a recommendation of a friend who has a time share here, and he has been going here for years. You would not know that this was a time share hotel, at no point in our holiday did anybody try any sales to us. I booked through a well known on line rooms site and had no problems with the booking, just had to pay for the room on my card when i arrived.
All in all a fantastic week in beautiful surroundings in very comfortable rooms, i would definitely return!
