“Brilliant holiday and great value!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 September 2011

Just returned from Turbo club and didn't want to come back! I and three friends flew out on the 31st August and decided to go with an open mind after reading all the bad reviews. The only way i can believe the bad reviews is if they had gone to a different hotel. On arrival we were checked in quickly given an information pack, told about the use of the safe (25 euro for a week) and told where our room was. The rooms are massive, with most having a balcony overlooking the main pool and the others overlooking the smaller, quieter pool. The rooms were also spotlessly clean. The only bad point about our room was that there was not a lock on the bathroom door however my friends had one on there’s so don’t know if they all had them apart from ours.
Hotel complex itself is very clean and full of polite staff. If you’re polite to them then they will be polite to you, just saying hello really does make a difference to how they see you as a person. The pool is lovely however there isn’t really a shallow bit for children. I didn’t really go in the Jacuzzi because it was either full or had children playing in it (maybe because it was more shallow than the pool), and if you do go in the Jacuzzi there is a button that you have to press to start it as me and a friend were sitting there for 10 minutes waiting for it to come on looking like idiots :). There’s also a shop on site which is reasonably priced especially for cigarettes (a sleeve of royals worked out at just under 16 euro).
The food at the hotel was fine so really don’t understand the bad reviews about this. Fair enough on some occasions i didn’t like everything on offer but always managed to find something to eat. You always had a choice between pork, beef, chicken, lamb and fish, you then had a choice of pasta or rice etc. and there were always either boiled potatoes, chips or roast potatoes. Breakfast was more European than it was English but let’s face it if you don’t like Frankfurt’s then don’t eat them there’s plenty more on offer and also it’s not just an English hotel.
Whilst round the pool i must of heard about 3 German songs all holiday and about 4 Spanish. Seriously it’s all English music! I also found that the rumour that the hotel is mostly German is a lie. i heard more English accents than any other, there were also a lot of Spanish holidaying there showing that the weather is amazing! 35 degrees at half 10 of a morning! Don’t get me wrong there were Germans there but nowhere near as many as people have been making out.
Entertainment is a right laugh, we didn’t stay in of a night most of the time but wished we did. They had games and bingo and quizzes. Typical cheesy holiday stuff but fun :) entertainers are great with the kids and to be fair with the grown-ups as well, always dancing about acting saft trying to make people laugh.
The situation of the hotel is perfect. If you don’t mind paying 4 euros in a taxi to get somewhere (which we didn’t) you can get anywhere, the beach, playa Del ingles, holiday world (although you can walk here), Yumbo centre.
Advice to anyone going.... don’t miss out on the yumbo centre!!! Absolutely amazing there even much so i want to go and work there next year! Full of so many different people with a great atmosphere for families, friends, couples etc.
People on reception are also very helpful unlike what most people have said in their reviews.
Think I’ve covered everything if not then it wouldn’t of been anything bad because i haven’t got any bad points.
My advice is go with an open mind and see for yourself it won’t work out to be as bad as you thought and you will have an amazing holiday :) enjoy :D

I've never written a review before but just had to after returning from a week at the Turbo Club (1st - 8th Sept). Usually i take bad reviews with a pinch of salt as like a lot of reviews have already stated people expect 5 star quality for 2 star prices. I travelled with my husband and 6 year old Son. The pools and kids club were good, daytime activities a good laugh and evening entertainment ok.
There's a wide choice of drinks, various cocktails and even slush for the kids (or adults).
Food, there was the usual fish or meat choice which was very tasty, if anything, and this is not a complaint just an observation, there was a lack of variety with regards to a choice of side dishes to go with the main and breakfast was usually just sausage, egg and beans, but there was plenty of cold meats and cheese to make rolls or toasties. People would even fill up plastic cups with either chips or ice cream to take back outside, this was never an issue. If you have children i would definitely recommend a 5 minute stroll to Holiday World.
Rooms were spacious and clean.
All in all had a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday, despite been worried before going.

After reading the bad reviews I was wandering whether we’d booked a week at a hell hole, or whether people just like to moan. I now know people LOVE to moan. The rooms were large and the beds were large and comfortable, the rooms were spotless when we arrived and cleaned 3 times a week. They had a decent sized balcony from the front, and a small balcony with just enough room to stand on in the bedroom. The food was samey, but tasted nice and there was always something to choose from. For breakfast there was always sausage, eggs, beans, bread, toast, sweet pastries and fresh fruit. For dinner and tea there was always a choice of fish, pork, beef, chicken, potatoes or chips, salads, sauces, fresh fruit and ice cream. Alcoholic and soft drinks were nice, and the bar shut at meal times but the drinks were self service and beer and wine were still available. Entertainment was good of a night and there were plenty of things to do in the day (archery tournaments, water polo etc.) and children seemed to love the kids club and reps. If you want to get out, taxis to the beach, water park, Yumbo centre and Playa del Ingles are all around 4euros. I travelled with friends, but the hotel seemed great for families and couples. Only bad points were that the Jacuzzi needed an age limit, as it’s meant to be somewhere to relax but instead it’s full of young children playing, and none of the pools really had a shallow end which may not have been very good with children, but they all have floaties in the pool on holiday anyway. If you want top notch, pay for top notch. If you’re not prepared to pay out, stop moaning and get on with it. A holiday’s what you make of it!

Just returned from a week's all inclusive at the Turbo Club. We are definitely not fussy people and have stayed in plenty of 3 star (supposedly) all inclusive places so this is an honest review. The rooms are adequate and spacious ... the only problem is that there is no air conditioning so make sure if you are going during the summer months that you get a room on the first floor - not ground floor as you can't really leave all the windows and doors open to catch a breeze. We were moved into a first floor room and after hiring two fans managed to get a good nights sleep. We were lucky enough to be staying around the pool area away from the entertainment (our son is 14 and is not into kids clubs etc) and it was great. The only thing that really lets this place down is the food. As I stated before we have stayed in plenty of mediocre places but they have all been good to a good standard foodwise. The Turbo Club is really poor. Choice of food is limited and often runs out quickly - very poor choice of salads and dessert is ice-cream and pieces of unripe fruit with the odd jelly or blancmange thrown in every now and again. Get your own knives and forks and just a couple of women clearing the tables. We don't mind eating chicken....pork.....fish every night but their food just looked so unappetizing. The drinks in the restaurant were disgusting and we didn;'t bother unless it was a tea or coffee in the morning. The breakfast menu was poor with most people queuing up to use the 1 toaster. It was such a shame as the rest of the holiday was nice and relaxing. There was a tv in the room but you had to pay to use it which we also came across when we stayed in Lanzarote so maybe it is a canary island thing (surely it should come under 'all inclusive'). Wouldn't go back to this hotel unless it had a major shake up in the restaurant area. If you are going self-catering it is fine but not if you have paid the extra for all inclusive.

Room Tip: Make sure you get a first floor room so that you can leave balcony doors and windows open at night.,

Just returned from a week at the Turbo Club with my partner and 2 kids ( aged 7 & 9) . From some of the reviews prior to arriving we were expecting the worst - what a pleasant surprise we had in store. The rooms were large and exceptionally clean ( especially the bathroom). Yes the food is a little repetitive but there was always a good selection of meat and salad as well as the ubiquitous chips! Both the children always found plenty to eat and the restaurant area was clean, well staffed and comfortable.
Some reports have complained about the staff - we found them all to be very helpful friendly and cheerful - it really makes a difference if you make the effort to try to speak a little Spanish as they seem to appreciate it. If you cant manage that then simply remembering to say please and thank you at the bar is the very least that you should try ( some guests forgot this).
The pools were very clean and kids thoroughly enjoyed them - the entire poolside area is disinfected and washed every morning before 8am. I know this I watched them do it when making the morning towel run. Yes, sometimes the sunbeds are at a premium but since I was there with 2 children , early mornings sort of come with the territory.
The kids club was well run with limited resources but my little girl enjoyed it when she went and the entertainment was ok in the evening. I have seen better but was not expecting a full scal production of Les Miserables for the money we paid.
Now the bad bits - The rooms get exceptionally hot at night and though we paid the extra 65 euros for the air con. ( essential during the summer i would suggest) , you cannot leave it running when not in the room as you have to hang the pipe from the window or door.Be aware that both pools are quite deep (1m 15cm at the shallow end) so suitable safety inflatables might be required if your children don't swim.
All in all we had a good time at the Turbo Club. It is a family friendly place and having booked last minute we were not disappointed. There is loads to do nearby (Palmitos Park and Aqualand ) are both brilliant days out. I don't know what people expect for such little money but I have paid more in the past and got less!

The bad reviews are a bit harsh and we had a great time. I went with my wife and 2 children (4 & 8) and the kids absolutley loved it. The room was basic and a bit dated but very clean and when we checked out it was re painted along with my brother's room. The 2 pools are great. We were on the higher level at the quieter pool , which suited us as it was a bit hectic at the main pool. The food was as expected really. Not gourmet food but certainly eadible with a wide range of dishes each night. The staff are really friendly but would suggest a few spanish lessons to communicate easier or at least a phrase book. The only draw back was the entertainment. It was quite limited and the disco wasn't good. We did feed this back at the time so hopefully they may have improved it!!! Plenty of activities throughout the day for kids and adults and the waterpolo for adults was great fun with a mix of English, Spanish, Slovakian and German and it was played with a great spirit helped by the organiser (who is American but you would never guess it as he is of Italian background and speaks fluent Spanish). My daughter really enjoyed the kids club (7) and you'll have the club song wedged in your head all week but it grows on you (the German & Spanish version too). All in all a very enjoyable holiday and would recommend to any families. Free bus too beach was a bit of a nightmare coming back as it was full but lovely shopping area with good deals on designer clothes (Boss, Lacoste, Lyle & Scott etc). Be prepared for a hot night if you don't pay for air con unit or fan (70 or 15 euro for week). Not much around if your not all inclusive. Holiday World is a 10/15 minute and is great for kids of all ages and not too expensive either. Any football fans just head to the bar at Holiday World that shows all matches. A very nice holiday was had by all.

Room Tip: If you want a bit peace round pool ask for a room at the upper pool
