Don't read the bad reviews, they are rubbish. Me and my boyfriend Lee had an excellent time! The apartments are clean. Ours were cleaned every other day, with fresh towels also! The cleaners were excellant, always folded our clothes for us if we left them on the floor, always brought things of the balcony if they were dry and folded them in a neat pile and left them on the sofa. Brilliant! There are fridges and sinks in every apartment which is very helpful. We just kept a bottle of water in ours which you could get from the hotel shop which is very reosonably priced. The bathroom is a good size as well as the bedroom. There isnt any air con, but we found leaving the window open gave us a cool breeze most nights anyway. If you wanted air con you could hire it from reception along with fans. The hotel in general is very clean, we saw workers always keeping on top of the lawns and plants, and i seen 0 bugs the whole time i was there. The hotel does have a few cats that walk around and sunbathe. But there harmless they come nowhere near you, they just lay under the trees and enjoy the sun. The food was okay, not great, but i'm a fussy eater and i always found something to eat. There is always veg chips some sort of meat, soup, fresh bread, salads, pasta, unlimited icecream at meal times, a range of fresh fruit, and other deserts. So food was no problem for us, we eat out in total 4 times out of 14 days, once for my birthday meal, another becauce we were hungover so missed breakfast and lunch, another because we decided to spend the day at the beach, and another because on the first day we arrived, we arrived just after they stopped serving dinner. So the food is really not that bad, it's just basic food. The Chefs were so friendly, they were constantly coming out, replacing the food that was sat there for a bit with fresh stuff, and they would come out and have a plate of food themselves which is always promising! All the staff were pleasant, all up for a laugh. The pool bar shut when the restuarant was open, so that memeber of staff could help in the restaurant, but at food times, there was a barrel of wine, beer, and a soft drink machine (lemonade cola etc) inside the restuarant for you to help yourself too. That is fair enough in our opinion. The hotel was in a nice area, not much around. But taxi's were so so cheap. 4 euros took you almost anywhere around maspalomas or playa de ingles. There is a place which is a 5 minute walk called holiday world. That place is aimed for children, inside there is amusement rides, and all sorts of games for them to play on. There is also a bowling alley, and a bar which sells nice food. Upstairs there is a lovely Chinese restuarnt. We eat there and the food was excellant. There is also the yumbo centre which costs about 4 euros in a taxi, thats a fun night out, quite a few drag acts there, but all the shows are extremely funny. There is some lovely restaurants inside of that centre as well, and there all reosonably priced. Nice big steak houses, all you can eat chineses etc. On the day of arrival everybody is given a free bus pass to the beach. That beach is nice and quite and you can see the sand dunes lovely from there. However there is only a few restaurants and bars there, and be aware of african hustlers trying to get you to buy things. Just say no and walk away. There is also a lovely beach in playa de ingles, that costs 4 euros in a taxi, and its a beautiful beach. there is a lovely sea front strip with loads of resturants, shops, amusement arcades for children etc. And plenty of water sport as well, such as jet skis parasailing, surfing. Brilliant day out there. The entertainment at the hotel was good, Tracey was excellant at getting people on stage and joining in, she made all the shows entertaining and funny. There was always something to do during the day with her, such as archery rifle shooting killer pool water polo etc. Shes very outgoing and speakes loads of languages so she manages to speak to most nationalities. There is also 2 other entertainers that work with the children, there is a kids clubs, and always kids entertainment on and they are excellent with the kids. At the end of the day its not a 5* if you want that, then go and get that, but this hotel is brilliant for the money, and we think it deserves another star as we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and were very impressed. Also go in reception and look at the trips. We went on the dolphin safari, submarine and went to palmitos park, and they were all aboslutely amazing experiences, and at the reception they sort it all out for you stress free :) . Love Sammie + Lee

Room Tip: All apartments are just as good as each other :)

after booking the turbo club for this december i thought i would check out the most recent reviews, some people must have extraordinary expectations of three star hotels, As i have stayed at the turbo club twice before, last december for a week and last august for twon weeks,we had a very chilled out time, granted the ai bar drinks are local but if your not happy do what we do, buy a bottle of branded drink at the supermarket ( we found the best one to be at melonares) and just go to the bar for a glass with ice and drink your own, its not expensive at shops, i even managed to get diet irn bru at the same supermarket, the turbo club is kept immaculate as all the staff work very hard to keep it this way ( cleaners out first thing in morning cleaning pool area and bar area where people have sat drinking until the wee small hours, reception is always mannedby a receptionist whom we have always been treated nicely by. there is always somethig good to eat and you can order a packed lunch to take if you are going out for the day,we go on the free bus to maspalomas beach most days as we have been to gran canaria lots and have done all the touristy things. all in all a good value chill out holiday over christmas and new year really lookin forward to our holiday. so all you moaners out there take a chill pill and stop moaningggggg.

Room Tip: ask for a pool view most are but the firt time we went we had a room behind the stage and at night c...

My boyfriend and I have just returned from a great weeks stay at the Turbo Club after booking a last-minute sunshine getaway. We found this holiday great value for money, and as other reviews have suggested - you get what you pay for a 3* hotel.

The accommodation was very clean & spacious - came with a kitchenette (didn't really use as we went all inclusive) & balcony. The fridge was great for keeping drinks rather than having to go to the pool bar every time we got thirsty. The main problem was the unbearable heat at night as there is no air con (unless you hire it at 60 euro a week!) We hired a fan which was 15 euro but to be honest, did not really make much of a difference.

In terms of location, nothing really near by. Apart from holiday world complex and a shopping centre however, was more suited for families with children. We took taxi's to most places eg playa des ingles which were no more than 5 euro usually. There is a free shuttle bus to the maspalomas beach throughout the day which is pretty handy.

The food was not as bad as some of the reviews have said. It isn't amazing but there was definitely enough choice and something for everyone. All inclusive option was great as food was available throughout most of the day, so you won't go hungry. Drinks were all local brands and were watered down a fair bit but having a nice cool drink to quench your thirst in the scorching temperatures available all day - can't complain! Although It did get a bit repetitive, we ate out three times the whole time we were there but overall we were pretty satisfied.

Staff were friendly - kept the dining hall very clean and rooms were cleaned twice within the week we were there.

The entertainment was all really for kids so would not recommend to young couples/holidaymakers. We went out to Playa Des Ingles - a short taxi ride away - most nights as thats where most of the nightlife, bars, clubs and entertainment takes place for the adults!

Lastly, the facilities at the resort were above standard - pool was fantastic, and with a pool bar in the middle. Kids pool was more relaxed and quiet away from the music at the main pool. We booked excursions like aqualand water park, and camel riding through the hotel was great, and hassle-free. Internet and wifi available at reception at very low cost.

All in all, we had a fantastic holiday and although some of the entertainment at the hotel was not for us, I recommend this to families with children looking for a good value holiday, who are guaranteed a fabulous time at the turbo club.

We stayed at the turbo club the 3rd week of August 2012 for a week and had a great time. A holiday is what you make of it.The rooms were spotless and very accommodating albeit no air conditioning (it was exceptionally hot in the 40's)but comfortable ,the majority of rooms had a pool view and 2 pools in this small complex. The food was always hot and plentiful and there was always something on the menu to eat.The daily adult activities were run by the amazing one woman animation team who is TRACEY and she worked her socks off to get everyone involved and having amazing fun.She is worth her weight in gold, cant praise her enough thanks Tracey. Our teenage daughter soon made lovely friends and also had a wonderful holiday and shes still talking about it.
The hotel was a short taxi ride from Playa Da Ingles, Lively place and Melonaras for a shopping trip with a lovely promenade, and an open air cinema, 5 euros one way.

Room Tip: TAKE YOUR OWN FAN or you can hire one from reception along with a whole host of everyday items
