Turbo Club
Ranked #71 of 218 Hotels in Maspalomas
Reviewed 25 July 2014

Just got back from staying at the Turbo Club for 2 weeks. There is a saying you get what you pay for. Bearing in mind that I paid about £1000 for hotel but this was for 4 people for 2 weeks All Inclusive.
So I will start with the All Inclusive bit. Food is ok but some weird combinations happened. Cauliflower and sprouts appeared in morning and Frankfurters practically every morning occasionally changed with bacon. Lunchtimes & Evening meals were pretty much the same pizza, fish, beef, chicken, rice, chips etc. Salad items there of course and the sweets were very basic. Jelly everyday, Ice Cream, Fruit & Rice pudding that looked like it had been there for two weeks. But all the same a good selection overall. Drinks were ok but there was two annoying things observed. One the outside bar closed whenever the restaurant was open as the same staff manned both and secondly there was a two drink limit on the outside bar although you could get as many beers or wines as you wanted in the restaurant when it was open. Personally a 4 drink limit would of been better as it would of minimised queues at busy periods as you had to go back to the bar again if there was more then 2 of you. Alcohol drinks were ok and the local beer was fairly strong but not the best but enjoyable.
Now if you are booking this hotel try and get an morning or early afternoon check in as if you arrive late in the day you seem to miss out on the a meal or two as you have to check out at 12pm on departure day irrelevant if you dont get picked up until later in the day so you miss both dinner and tea even though you should be entitled to it. I was fine as I arrived at an ok time but i know there was various people who were not happy about this.
Other things i would comment on was the two ANIMATION team Gilbert & Francesca(could be wrong with this)were brilliant. Activites for both adults and kids were great for parts of the day but although they entertained the kids at night the adult entertainment was non existent in the evenings. Beware tho make sure you take a calculator with you as these guys are hopeless at adding up but very funny with it. I loved them.
Pools were great but there were issues with sunbeds which needs addressing. If we hadn't got up early at around 6-8am in the morning there was no beds to lie on. Nothing around the hotel apart from a market twice a week and the Holiday World with bowling, funfair, arcades and a couple of restaurants just five minute walk from the hotel. Apart from that it was either taxi or bus to the attractions, bars, restaurants away from the hotel but a free shuttle bus to beach 3 times a day. Like some of the other reviews beware of the african men and women either trying to sell you a cheap bracelet or watch. Avoid like the plague.
Finally back at the hotel Wifi is rubbish and so is the speed of their computers in reception and one personal think i missed was a cash machine on site as I had to withdraw money and had to walk to Holiday World to get it as that was the nearest cash machine. One of these was out of order too.

So out of ten here is my scores

Food at complex 6
Drinks 7
Entertainment 8 in day 5 at night
Rooms 5 (ok but no kettle and tv you have to pay for)
Local Attractions 4
For kids 9
All Inclusive in General 6
Hotel in General 6

THIS IS HOW IT IS...
We spend 2 weeks all inclusive with a young 3 year old daughter. First mummy and daddy please make sure you got your EU medical card and please take plenty paracetamol or baby food with you as although there s 24 hour pharmacy their taste are completely different and Britain kids wont like it as there is no sugar or flavour like u get in uk lol and yes kids will not like it and its queit expensive too. ALSO make sure both parents and kids got hay fever medicine as lots of grass around and even I who never suffer from hay fever got it and no its not pleasant at all. So before you goes make sure its all on priority list.

I was in room 155 and I would say what a lovely room and pool is very family orientated as lots of wee kiddies around and its also more relaxing and quiet.

I would personally say the staff are very good and do a great job and try the very best. I personally believe people will react to you the way you treat them. I had no problem what so ever and when both me and my daughter took really ill they constantly ask how we are and provide information needed to make our life easier. So big THANK YOU TO ALL THE STAFF FROM KIITCHEN TO DESK TO ENTERTAINEMENT AND CLEANER THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR BEING NICE.

SOME TIME RULES WAS BEND TO ACCOMODATE US AND IT DEPEND ON YOUR SITUATION ALL YOU NEED TO DO IS ASK AND BE POLITE THEY WILL DO EVERYTHNG THEY CAN.

ROOM: Absolutely great nice clean fresh and was to a very good standard even the bed was comfy. I must say I was worry when I saw the pillow but it turn out to be very comfy.
I personally don't agree with the fact that the sheet get change only once a week. It should be done at least twice a week as when on holiday kids does make a mess of bed lol but if you want fresh sheet go ask at reception they will give it to you. Ok you will need change it yourself but so what common for the price you pay am sure you can manage to fit a sheet on the bed surely.

FOOD: Absolutely great and if you do have a diet requirement please let the reception know. Best things is get it translate in Spanish write on a page and show the reception. They will accommodate you as much as they can. STOP MOANING food are good, there is plenty to choose from end of. when they serve you drink my god half of the cup is full of alcohol lol.
BUT ONE THING I WILL SAY CAN THE CHEFFT STOP PUTTING PORK IN PASTA OR RICE AS IT REALLY LIMITE THOSES WHO DONT EAT PORK AND THOSE WHO ARE VEGETARIAN. THATS A VERY IMPORTANT ISSUE THAT MUST BE QUICKLY RECTIFY. THANK YOU.

ENTERTAINEMENT: Ok every night the kids get to dance to the same song but hey ho they like it. For adult its crap and I did not like how they treat the Spanish and they make it so ovious especially the one from grand canary that come stay in the hotel. You can tell strait away the preferences and that's not very good on other kids that's not Spanish or from grand canary. Well someone must say something about it. The entertainment staff should try improve there English just wee bit and make sure you translate as some people cannot speak the lingo. I must say I speak about 5 languages but Spanish is not 1 of them lol not for long as I am in love with the Spanish people and lingo absolutely brilliant x

During the day for a few hours you get the wee nursery for kids and its ok.

There is also plenty activity for adult to take part in although its keep on repeating same thing lol but its ok.

MARKET: OMG YOU GOT TO LOVE IT EVERY WEDNESDAY AND SATURDAY THERE IS MARKET AND DONT BOTHER SHOPPING ANYWHERE ELSE AS YOU GOT IT ALL THERE. THE TRICK IS FURTHER YOU GO IN THE CHEAPEST THEY GET AND YOU GET A GOOD BARGAIN THOSE WHO IS IN THE FIRST FEW STALL ARE EXPENSIVE BY 3 EURO OR 5 EURO EXTRA. FACING THE FRONT OF THE MARKET PLEASE START WITH THE RIGHT ENTRANCE AS THE LEFT ENTRANCE THEY THE ONE MORE EXPENSIVE AND SOME FORCE THEMSELF ON YOU AND DO NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER AND GET ANGRY AND SWEAR AT YOU TOO WHEN YOU WALK AWAY LOL X

I would advise parents with young kids under 5 please go to the second pool as its safer and you can relax and not constantly having worry as the pool water is just great. Attention big pool are very deep and must really keep eye on the kids especially those who just starting to swim I think it start with 1'35 to 2 I think.

ALSO PARENT PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR KIDS ARE COVER WITH SUNCREAM EVERY 3 HOUR AS TO BE HONEST THEY DONT USE CLORINE THEY USE SALT AND SALT WAS SUN CREAM QUICKER.

There is a holiday world just few minute away from hotel and its great entertainment for kids I will personally advise you to buy the 20 euro ticket it gives you 60 points and you can use it for different days it will still be valid so which mean you don't have to use it all at once. There is also free car park in the basement so no problem parking either.

Town nice but you get practically everything in market for even less. Promenade ok we only went twice as I was very poorly all way though my holiday.

I think I actually cover the main bits if there is any question please ask and please do disregard these bad comment I am actually shock and think some people are ungrateful if you want better than this then go book a 5 star hotel even tho I think you will still complain.

SO PARENTS AND KIDS GEAR UP WELL BEFORE YOU GO.

P.S: OK NOW AIR CCONDITIIONING OK ITS WRONG AND NOT SAFE AS YOU HAVE TO LEAVE A WINDDOW OPEN WITH THE BIG WHITE PIPE LOOKING THING HANGING OUT THE WINDOW. PLEASE JUST GET SOME FAN ITS MUCH CHEAPER AND ITS SAFER I WOULD NOT ADVISE THIS AT ALL. THEY DELIVER IT TO YOU ITS NOT ALL FITTED ON THE WALL. X

I would say I felt very at peace at that hotel. Its all close off and the security at night so its safe to open window at night.

Oh yes forget about Faro2 lol its total disaster most shop close.

ENJOY EVERYONE XXX

Big thank you to everyone that was on holiday and try help and plenty of calpol THANK YOU S MUCH X

Room Tip: Parents with young kids get 155 its the best ever xx

On first impressions this hotel seemed really good a cheap family A/I.. The hotel is clean, the rooms are spacious.. The A/l ran breakfast between 8am - 10am which is perfect.. This consisted of beans, boiled eggs, frankfurts, and a potato style waffle.. This seems ok but the same day in day out got very boring and repetitive as it wasn't spiced up in anyway.. The lunch consisted of basically what they served for dinner the night before... And the dinners where very boring and we ended up eating out for dinner 3-4 night of our ten night stay... Considering this is a family hotel they didn't serve any kids snacks at the bar or at dinner such as burgers, nuggets or chips... The closest they got was pizza at dinner but they served like a tuna pizza. The bar around the pool which is the only bar served local Malibu or whiskey, vodka or beer, coke or lemonade along with slush puppy's of which they stop serving slush at six pm. The bar closes during dinner times so it's closed between 8-10 am, 12.30-14.30, 18.00 - 20.00.. Out side of these times your unable to get any kind off food including ice creams etc... The beds are extremely uncomfortable. No entertainment in evening or around the hotel during the day on Mondays... Come departure day you A/L ends and you have to leave your room come midday. This also includes not having any drinks or food during that day... As our flight wasn't until 19.30 we wasn't getting picked up till 16.30 and we wasn't even allowed to purchase just one drink or just get a bread roll for our 3 year old... Instead offered us another days A/l for 20 euros each until pick up time... Very clever that A/l runs out at 12 and lunch starts at half 12....

We are just back from turbo club. The weather was great. Our room was clean, bit basic. Up the back near the smaller pool which is better as its quieter. Food ok not great but you get what you pay for. Courtesy bus to the beach, beware of the scarey african women on the path to the beach. They try and shake your hand then slip a bit of string with two cheap beads on then demand 30 euros for it, we were fore warned but its still intimidating walking past them. Entertainment at the turbo club is dire, ok for young kids but nothing for adults except bingo that you pay for and a reptile show where they want you to buy photos with the reptiles. All inclusive ending at 12 is poor, my son asked for a drink at two mins past 12 and was refused. There is à courtesy room where you get 30 mins to get ready to leave, this is good but towels would be handy because its not ideal using yr own and putting wet towels in yr lugguge. The Man in reception was helpful, the waitressess and bar staff were not the most cheery, some were ok but the Lady with the dark bobbed hair was really sour faced and quite unpleasant, I think she needs some customer service training, a smile costs nothing. My son enjoyed his stay, took part in the activités through the day including water Polo. Nice holiday on a budget

arrived late evening in the dark after dropping off other passengers around Playa de ingles and Maspalomas, checked in at reception with a security guard not receptionist, and given the apartment key told to go down a path and we would find the apartment. A so called meal had been saved for us in the restaurant which consisted of a warm leg of chicken, cold pasta, bread roll and a melted pat of butter between two plates.
The room was extremely basic, beds very hard, TV no bigger than a laptop screen of which you had to put coins in to watch, no kettle to make a drink with and the bathroom dirty with mould on all tiles.
Went down to the pool area which had the only bar there, and was greeted by four other young guests who were very drunk, swearing out loud and causing commotion, and in the end fighting broke out between them and bar staff which security staff had to escort them back to their rooms.
Allowed drinks eventually but was in vending machine plastic cups with only one drink per person allowed.
The following morning , after a sleepless night, complained at reception but they really didn't want to know, so arranged a transfer at our cost to a proper hotel (Rui Palace Oasis)

We certainly would not recommend the Turdo club to anybody,
