“First rate service”

This us a lovely hotel... Yes it does have a 70's feel but I think that adds to the charm.

Breakfast is first rate and included champagne which was fab.

Gardens and pool looked great and there us a good selection of restaurants in the local area.

Hotel has a garden gate practically leading out onto the beach which only hotel guests have a key for. This is really convenient.

Far removed from what a 5 star Hotel should be.Built 1969 and shows it,room air con. inoperative, carpets, towels and linen threadbare. The place is tired out and the staff though generally very good cannot make up for the shortcomings.Food upper 3 Star at best.Complaints met with shrug and sudden lack of English by staff on reception.
Excellent location and gardens but not a place to stay at these prices .

Our stay was very pleaseent, this was our tenth year, visit the park worth the short bus ride.

Not much I can add to the reviews below other than we have booked again, the staff try so hard to get things just so.

Mainly middle aged people but quiet.

Cant really fault the hotel and its staff

Helpful Reception staff plus free glass of champagne on arrival.
Reception area and our room very smart and high quality. Clientele mainly smart, quiet Germans.
Breakfast OK with good selection.
Pool area excellent. Plenty of very comfortable sun beds. Large pool which was 2m deep for the entire length with shallower water at the side with childrens area.
Large grounds if you prefer laying under a tree on the grass.
Excellent location as you walk 50 yards through the grounds, through the gate and you are on the beach.
Good range of Restaurants for snacks and evening meals within 100m; try El Velero, good food at a reasonable price. More expensive restaurants past the lighthouse at 300m.
Rather than wait 45 minutes, we paid 45 euros for a taxi from the airport. Going back we used the local bus for 13 euros.
Try the local bus to Puerto Mogan for an outing.

What a comforting Hotel, greeted by a glass of Champagne(Spanish) while our luggage being delivered to our room.
Room, very comfy, large enough with decent Balcony and Bathroom.
Have not met nicer Staff (outside Parknasilla in Sneem Co Kerry)pleasant at all times and very helpfull--well done.
Diningroom large to cater for no of guestsin high Season, there were 2 settings,6.30pm nd 8.30pm,no rushing etc, reminded me a little of "Noahs Ark"(2x2)
Food good--way too much of a selection,
We ate 3 or 4 times in the A La Carte restaurant which was really good and relaxing.
One was given a disc for towels at the pool, this was a once off and you could have as many towels as you wished/needed,also disc for exit to Beach(which we were enclined to forget)not a major problem.
There is a good Swimwear Boutique with decent labels, shoe boutique,(usual Spanish shoes) also clothes and jewellery /gift shop.
We hired bikes from beside the hotel, same guy gives Tennis Lessons,
Geeneral entertainment at night if you so wish.
Guests,we thought,a little on the Mature side, but this was not a problem, rather nice, during the week amore mix of age arrived
Would we return to this hotel?definitely,we are not great fans of The Canary Islands but really enjoyed our stay.ps.loved the layout of the pool area, not too large, plenty of chairs/umbrellas and service.Absolutely fab grounds with plenty of shade and space, only negative opinion is that the menu at the cafe near tennis courts was not great!and feel that you do not need music being blasted whilst you eat/talk.There is a charge for use of their enternet.

This is our third visit to this wonderful hotel and we will be planning another. The main attraction for us is the excellent service from the friendly, yet very professional staff who look after us so well. In four years the staff turnover has been little, which is a credit to the Management. Marisa, the manager seems to have a good relationship with the staff and can be seen around the hotel chatting to her department managers and appears to be constantly looking at the standards that are being provided. During our stays here Marisa is very evident in the hotel, chatting to guests and making sure we have everything we need.
The food is of good standard and consists of an extensive buffet or table service in the main restaurant and more individual service and choice in the lovely Krystal restaurant. I could go on and on but the main points are: Excellent service, Well decorated/furnished rooms which are very comfortable, excellent food, beutiful extensive gardens, lovely outdoor pool area and staff who care about their guests.
If you want a good traditional hotel and service as it used to be this hotel is for you.
Thank you Marisa and Staff for providing us with a truly excellent hotel.

The RIU Grand Palace etc. hotel is located in a perfect spot in Maspalomas, right near the beach with a direct entrance from the hotel garden to the beach. And just around the corner are the famous Dunas, the wandering sanddunes where you can undertake a very nice stroll. And from that garden exit you can walk directly into Maspalomas along the boulevard or the beach.
The hotel itself is very good, the staff very friendly and helpfull. And as you can read elsewhere: the garden is great with a very nice pool!
It is (at least in October) mainly visited by elderly but you also see some families with young kids.
The only comment I have is that it is a little bit dated, although they were replacing the carpets during our stay.
