“Fabulous, elegant hotel, would go back in a flash”
Reviewed 26 May 2011

Just had a week in this hotel, booked through Thompson (who are rubbish, I will be dropping the middleman in future)!!!
To begin with, the weather was amazing, which is what we went for, what we weren't expecting was the beautiful staff who treated us like family or long lost friends. It was amazing how the staff knew us, our name & room numbers from day one, they even knew my favourite wine, which was chilling next to the table along with the rest of drinks. A big thank you to Roberto who looked after us at dinner!!
The food was Devine, from the choice of 2 soups, dozen of different fresh breads, to the show cooking of meats & fish and mountains of salads and vegetables all fresh and beautifully presented. Desserts were a lot better than 'spanish' cakes fro the past.
All in all, amazing food, breakfast was beautiful too, with smoothies of whatever took your fancy! My favourite was banana, kiwi, and raspberry.
I loved it here, it was very relaxing.
Please note, it is not really a kids hotel, my kids were the only ones there and that was no problem because they have good table manners and know how to behave, (most of the time)!!! 90% of the guests are elderly, which was lovely, but if your kids want to be entertained and have tons of other kids to play with, then I don't think this would be the right place. It is a very quiet hotel, and I was constantly telling my 6 year old to keep the volume
down.
My only niggle was with the lack of a gate, leading to the roundabout by the lighthouse. From looking at the hotel you would think it was a stones throw from the lighthouse, bars and restaurants, but there is no gate in the righthand corner, instead the exit is to the left, leading to the beach (which has nearly gone, just rocks now, but still pretty), you have to walk through alleyways of shops and bars to get to where you want to be??? Didn't make sense to me!! Sort that out and This is the perfect hotel!!
Loved it, I will be back, maybe without the kids this time?? :-))

We have just stayed with our family & young grandaughter in the Grand Palace Oasis. At first as we pulled up the exterior of the hotel gives an impression of a run down council flat, however as soon as you walk in to the reception the grandeur is very pleasing. The hotel staff are incredibly friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The extensive gardens are so serene & if the poolside is not for you this is an excellent alternative. The rooms are a good size but ours was ready for a new carpet & freshening up but the rest of our family was quite satisifed as there's had been refurbished. The evening dining was second to none, you couldn't possibly go hungry as there was always plenty of choice. However I must point out that the resort as suffered a huge storm last Autumn & we were very disappointed to find that a hug part of the beach had been washed away by excessively large waves, which now made the beach inaccesible with families with pushchairs as you have too encounter a broad band of rocks to gain access to the sand. Apparently the authorities are not intending to reinstate the man made beach but may reconsider if families stop going to the resort. I would strongley recommend this hotel as it was well worth the money and will definately be returning

Room Tip: The ground floor Room 120 - 130

Fabulous hotel with charming helpful staff.Beautiful gardens surrounded by thousands of palm trees, flowers and cactus everywhere.Food excellant and beautifully laid out. This is a truly lovely Hotel.bedroom spotlessly clean with very good amenities.I don't want to complain because this is such a very good hotel, but i really think that they should do something about the lack of access to the promenade, you can get out to the beach with ease, the main entrance leads out on to a long and winding road, which does eventually lead out to the prom,If your elderly or infirm, this is a heck of a long walk before you even get to the prom. There is a staff entrance in the position where there should be a gateway for the clients, this i'm sorry to say would be the only thing that would put me off booking this beautiful hotel again,

A very good hotel with excellent staff and good food. Rooms scrupulously clean and very pleasant grounds. Only one small niggle- why the rental charge for the room safe in a five star hotel?

This us a lovely hotel... Yes it does have a 70's feel but I think that adds to the charm.

Breakfast is first rate and included champagne which was fab.

Gardens and pool looked great and there us a good selection of restaurants in the local area.

Hotel has a garden gate practically leading out onto the beach which only hotel guests have a key for. This is really convenient.

Far removed from what a 5 star Hotel should be.Built 1969 and shows it,room air con. inoperative, carpets, towels and linen threadbare. The place is tired out and the staff though generally very good cannot make up for the shortcomings.Food upper 3 Star at best.Complaints met with shrug and sudden lack of English by staff on reception.
Excellent location and gardens but not a place to stay at these prices .

Our stay was very pleaseent, this was our tenth year, visit the park worth the short bus ride.

Not much I can add to the reviews below other than we have booked again, the staff try so hard to get things just so.

Mainly middle aged people but quiet.

Cant really fault the hotel and its staff
