“Poor location lets it down.”
Reviewed 9 April 2010

We went to Magnolias natura for a relaxing naturist break with good weather and that is what we got. Everything was spotless and the staff were helpful and friendly. There were however quite a few things we didn't like and we share them only as personal observations which may help others.
The facility is quite small and often felt crowded, particularly round the pool. The usual selfish reservation of sun beds with towels was irritating, particularly if you refuse to partake. Some people even reserved sun beds and then went out!
We had to pay 3 euros a day to rent the safe in our room and thought this was expensive, but essential, so you had no choice.
The food in the restaurant was adequate but unimaginative and expensive.
Breakfast could be purchased at a discount if you agreed to have it every day and this was reasonable value, although the variety was limited. Again could be crowded when lots of people were trying to fry an egg on the hot plate.
On leaving the complex you were able to make use of a free bus service into Maspalomas or Playa del Ingles. The surrounding area is not very pleasant and to get anywhere you had to walk down a busy road or tramp across waste land. Although on a map it appears you have easy access to the beach, this is not the case.
The local supermarket (Faro 2) is very poor. The staff are rude and the quality of there 'fresh' produce woeful. Don't go there.
We didn't hire a car and this was a mistake as we didn't particularly like Playa del Ingles or Maspalomas and by the end of the 10 days felt a bit trapped.

Excellent. Relaxing week at Magnolias enjoying the pool and hot tub. Well maintained bungalows and gardens with friendly and helpful staff. All bungalows are a good size with south facing terrace and equipped with 4 settings of cutlery, crockery etc. Kitchen/diner area has 2 ring hob, toaster, filter coffee machine and a good fridge with freezer box. Restaurant has a range of food with a daily special, though it isn't cheap especially with the Euro/UKP exchange rate. Wireless internet available for €2 per day. Free bus to and from Playa Del Ingles and Maspalomas beach stops right outside Magnolias several times per day. 10/15 minutes walk to local shops and Faro2.

Our first trip to Magnolias Natura and to a naturist complex. An relaxing experience in a quite place. With good possibilities of walking and jogging to beach, Faro-2-center and Playa del Ingles. Very friendly staff. A little older crowd than expected +50 to +60 .. well OK for us.

Second time for us. We spent three weeks plus there in 2007 and came back for more this year, (2008)

Some things have improved... a jacuzzi instead of the odd little pool which was just a nuisance...

The bungalows now provide both washing up things and liquid AND for a new item, a dispenser of shower gel in the bathroom!

The folks there are brilliant as always.. John, Muhlis, Lorenzo, June and Marcel ALWAYS make you welcome even late in the evening once again! (Thank you June, and thank you to Iberia for the delays!)

The dunes are nearby, the beach is a free bus ride away and the town is a free bus ride or a cheap taxi at night.

Christmas was..... odd? this year. Not much in the way of street decoration which was unusual but I guess, not unexpected in these straightened times. Councils etc don't have the money for that, but what there was was good.

The apartments were clean, bright and refurbed recently..new bedding, sofa covers and curtains etc. There is an Iron, a toaster, a coffee maker and the ubiquitous two ring hob to make your life easier. No bills to pay until you leave.. a bar tab is normal as you wouldn't be expected to carry money when naked! Shop tab is the same although only a few items of drink.. fruit juice etc and water.

Go.. Enjoy the atmosphere and do the things you wanna do! We do.

  • Liked — Friendliness of the staff and the double bed!!

what a lovely location ideal for those just wanting to chill out.
we can understand why some people want more as it is quite an isolated location but you can walk to all the busy locations or catch a bus (which is free and stops outside the gate) or a taxi which were plentifull and cheap. staff were very helpful and always availabile with tips and advice. Food was excellent but reasonably priced as was the drinks. Everybody got on and chatted whatever the language.

we found that there was enough there for us as all we wanted was a quiet time to enjoy the sun and relax.

magnolias natura ,well it was our first time there, myself (steve and (anne) really enjoyed out stay, apart from x/l airways going bust, the staff are really nice warm and very friendly and always willing to help, nice pool , jacuzzi ,and plenty of sunbeds, the grounds are a bit small but other wise nicley kept and clean.
on arrival you are given a bus pass to maspalomas beach/lighthouse,and playa del inglas, the naturist beach at maspalomas is about a 10/15 min walk along the beach, i would advise you to walk along the sea front as it is a lot easier than trying to slog through dry sand. back to magnolias, if you want to eat at the resort you will always get a really nice meal and the chef knows what he is doing, from the apartments the shops are about 10/15 mins walk away and there are also plenty of good restaurants to eat at, i recommed the chinese on the ground level. you are never away from any from any nightlife, just hop into a taxi, they are always around , could go on but just try magnolias natura great for first timers and seasoned naturists , in fact great for all.

steve and anne.

  • Liked — just a great all round chilled out place, you can be naked 24 hours of the day even at measl if you want to.

This is the perfect place to unwind. The pool area has space for all and the pool (and jacuzzi) just the right size.
The apartments are well equiped, with extras like kettle & toaster.
On arrival we were given a bus ticket which can be used to get to either the lighthouse (for the beach) or into Playa Del Ingles (near the Yumbo centre). The bus runs approx 6 times a day.
The restaurant in the complex we couldn't fault. Ok, slightly biased towards English food, but cooked by someone who really cared about their food. And also a good place to talk to your neighbours!
The site reception has a small shop, just for drinks (i.e. water, juices, wines etc), everything else you'll have to get from the supermarket 20 mins walk away. Taxi's go passed the resort quite often so there's no need to book one, just flag one down.
I was only there for a week, and wished I'd booked for longer.

  • Liked — Pool and bar
  • Disliked — Complex on the small side.
