Stayed here at least 4 times now, staff brilliant and service great, food quality is of a good standard but what do you expect in an all inclusive. Yes the entertainment could be better, the resident band are terrible! However the climate and surroundings more than make up for it. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

After 7 days I was pretty bored with the all inclusive options! there was only one pool bar that served food all the rest were not included in the deal? Also the buffet restaurant got a bit tiring. The entertainment was awful, the main Salon, where they had tribute acts, had a bery poor sound system and the acts were so bad people were walking out in the middle of the, ( the Beatles), Elvis tribute did'nt turn up!

Worst of all our pick up time is 17.45, and when I asked if there was a courtesy room to get a shower, I was told no there is none, without even as much as an sorry we don't have a room free! just NO.Needless to say I won't be returning to this hotel and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone either.

The last minuet decision to spend the New Year at this hotel was the best .We found the Hotel welcoming the staff were very helpful our room was spotlessly clean and a nice size. It was on the second floor over looking the pool,I don't think you would want to be on a lower floor as the palm trees may block your view.Soap ,bath gel ,shampoo but no conditioner in the nice size bathroom ladies . It was a bit annoying that people saved sun beds although there were plenty ,they just went for the ones that got the early morning sun .Something I will point out the, man made beach at the hotel is not sand, bit fine grit which can stick in your feet. Make sure you wear flip flops , especially small children. As for the all inclusive we thought it was very good .You know when you book you don't get top brands ,but the Spanish equivalent was quite acceptable to us and I must say the wine was pleasantly pleasing. The buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner we found varied, with always a hot meat being carved or fresh fish. The New Year Gala meal was great, to do a fish coarse of Half a lobster thermidor for hundreds of guests was amazing.Yes it is a shot taxi drive away from the hub but that's what appealed to us on the particular holiday. Although we rate this hotel highly at this time of year ,it would be to hot and possible to crowded in the summer months .

Room Tip: Go for a high floor

We arrived for 2 weeks on the 16th. December' 13, and first impressions were very good. You have 2 absolutely identical Sister Hotels joined together, the Maspalomas Princess next door is "Half Board", whereas ours the "Tabaiba Princess is "All Inclusive", and you can use the facilities in each.
We were first given a ground floor room which didn't suit us, but reception changed it to a higher floor without any problem. The room/balcony was nice and kept spotlessly clean, we even had it serviced on Xmas morning. The TV had 5 English channels including Sky News, so we were kept informed of the awful weather back in the UK. We were so lucky it was in the 70's every day !.
The food was to a high standard, and although we experienced more variety at other Hotels, what was offered each day was excellent. the Gala Dinner on Xmas evening was first class.
The entertainment centred around the very large "Piano Bar" which was well supported every evening. It also had a lovely big terrace outside we used every night. One nice feature of this Bar was that it opened at 9.00am till Midnight so you could get lovely Coffee's and Drinks all day.
The other option was to use the "Saloon Bar" where they had the "Shows". It started at 7.30pm with a Junior Disco, then at 9.00pm we had a speciality acts - the "snake man" the "eagle lady" etc. At 10.00pm it was cabaret time and we thought these were very good. Naturally we had "tribute acts" - Elvis, Abba, Motown and Chinese / Russian jugglers and balancing groups, but the highlight for us had to be "The Three Tenors" who were superb.
A particular feature was the enormous gardens and pool areas, I've never seen so many large Palm Trees and shrubs.......it was like walking around a Jungle in Borneo all lit up at night !!. You had Poolside Bars and Restaurant - cooking Fresh Meals and snacks. their are tons of sunbeds everywhere, large Pools and a big "man made" Beach area.
My wife and I have been fortunate to stay at numerous 4 and 5* Hotels all over the Med. and Canary Islands and the Tabaiba Princess ranks among the best. I must make a special mention of the STAFF...... each and everyone was brilliant and were very friendly.
The only possible negative thing for us was the Hotel Location, it was on the outskirts of the Town with nothing else around, and a good 25 minute walk. Although if you got a Taxi - 3 euros,
you soon returned to the Hotel because it had everything you could want and all Free.

Room Tip: Try to get a high level room - only 3 floors

We returned from Gran Canaria last Saturday, having stayed in this hotel for New Year. It is not a bad hotel but the service lets it down and it is definitely not 4 Star standard.

Firstly, I don't believe that in a 4 star, guests should be expected to pay extra for a fridge in the room, a safety deposit box or Wi Fi (which we paid for and works very poorly on the third floor). Secondly, the hotel looks good from outside and in the reception area but in general, is a bit tired and the rooms could certainly do with some decoration. On our first night in our room, I cut my back on a spring that was protruding from the mattress.

We stayed all-inclusive. It's not bad but all the spirits are local ones. Cocktails are not freshly made but poured from bottles. The food in the restaurant, while plentiful, was generally cold and we ate outside of the hotel 3 of the 7 nights we were there as the choice in the restaurant was quite tedious.

The hotel brochure states that it has 2 heated pools but in fact, this is not the case. The pool area is quite pleasant but it was often difficult to get a sunbed as people leave their towels on the beds early in the morning and don't come back until the afternoon. It would be helpful if the hotel devised a policy against this, as have many other hotels we have stayed in.

The hotel is quite far outside the centre and as such, we took taxis, which cost 3 euro each way.

Overall, this hotel is suited to families with small children as there are lots of facilities. It isn't really suitable for couples holidays though. Also, the hotel needs to up their performance if they are to truly be a 4 star hotel.

Room Tip: Ask for a pool room on the third floor

this hotel is very impressive from outside but doesnt give the little extras that would be expected of a 4 star hotel for instance no shower cap supplied although all inclusive we didnt receive brand name drinks for instance smirnoff vodka (which is so cheap in the canaries) or even gordans gin for example
Also you must pay for the use of wi fi safe in room fridge and change of pool towels which I thought was over the top

Room Tip: rooms facing the pools

The First Choice brochure pics set a high expectation for the pool area but I was not disappointed, it's beautiful, plenty of different areas to sit, plenty of beds, although a lot of shade from the palms at various times so the best sun spots are taken by the usual towel rush, even at Christmas. Hotel reception is very impressive and the rooms were nice and big. I would agree this is a Premier rated hotel. I loved the buffet food, but I'm not fussy, especially appreciated the great breakfast with great bacon and HP sauce available. Plenty for meateaters and nice sauces and sides, but the chips always seemed empty which might annoy the kids.
Some annoyances in the room that should have been checked before we checked in and no-one from maintenance ever came.
My only complaint was the evening entertainment which is probably just the time of year. There is nothing until 10pm apart from a piano bar which was like Strictly Come Benidorm. I found it so annoying I would just sit in reception. If your over 70 then you might like it. At 10pm a show which was ok, although the showroom lent itself to a nightclub and that would have been much better, not a rave club, but a nice chillout bar type of club for all ages after dinner.
I would definitely go back.
One last thing - no water anywhere to drink apart from asking for a cup at the bar when its open, how weird for all inclusive and you not even allowed to fill up a container in the restaurant. Have to buy from supermarket. Also take a kettle and tea/coffee otherwise you can only get it when the restaurant of bar is open.
