“How can you moan!!”
Reviewed 15 June 2014 via mobile

This hotel is gorgeous, appearance wise it is spectacular with big open spaces modern seating areas and a professional friendly vibe, not all staff can speak the best English but they do enough and try their hardest to help you and understand you which is more than can be said with some hotels! The food was always full of choice the best options are usually at the first entrance where their is a man cooking this food fresh, there is a variety and I think some people expect a meal to be prepared for them but you create your own meal out of the food there and there is a big enough variety of fresh fish meat salad vegetables ect to do so. You never struggle for a sun lounger and you can like someone else said find yourself relaxing in the pool carefree. Ignore all the petty grumbles it is a lovely hotel and close to the maspalomas centre with breathtaking views and sun sets :) enjoy your holiday!!! Only downfall is slightly boring evening entertainment but we got drinks and went to our balcony and enjoyed the view and company!

You get what you pay for, this is a decent 4* all inc hotel, not a 5* in any shape or form & they do not pretend it is, it is Thompson / First Choice who market it as 5* Premier, BUT, if you are after a fly & flop holiday this is a good place to go, reception beautiful, rooms clean as is the rest of the hotel, but is dated, the bed must be the worst bed I have tried to sleep in, so hard. Piano bar great, evening entertainment patchy but what you expect, ABBA tribute were good, missed Elvis :( The main restaurant buffet style ok nothing to get excited about but for the amount they cater for they do well, always something to eat but just not hot enough for me, I like hot food not warm, as for the self service drinks station bit of a pain if a queue but all you can drink & branded soft drinks not cheep versions. main moan about the restaurant is in the evening they insist men (only) have to wear trousers, I wear suite & tie every day & like to wear shorts & T shirt on holiday (only had travelling trousers & had to wear them for dinner for a week) yet ladies can wear shorts or what ever they like, don't get it, but they will not let you in if not wearing trousers, simple as that & enforced. The out side space is vast, clean & good, loads of sun loungers to chose from but no umbrellas (other than a dozen knackered ones on artificial beach). Artificial beach like walking on cat litter but appreciated the touch. You will have to pay for the safe, about 14euro for a week, no kettle in room so take a travel one if you like a coffee when wake up, we purchased 5 ltr bottle of water from shop behind article beach behind resort for 1.8 Euro & lasted the week, as we used the all inc rest of the time, can't see point of the fridge unless have medication or baby bottles to keep cool. Oh aircon rubbish in rooms.

Ordered some beautiful flowers for my wife to mark our wedding anniversary whilst out there & was rather painful think was a misunderstanding, when receptionist realised I was happy to pay then was sorted.

Bar staff friendly & drinks flowed freely but were delays, people ordering coffee caused the most delays!!! No waiter service. out side area by Piano bar nice, would be nicer if has a dedicated smoking area, wonder if smokers realise how repugnant the smell is to none smokers, may as well smear them selves in excrement.

In summing up a decent holiday but not 5*, I know as been to 5 star & leap between is vast. but good quality cost efficient week away, pleasant people, pleasant hotel & good drinks & plenty of food. Enjoy.

Room Tip: Don't get a room above piano bar unless you will be in the piano bar till midnight every night.

On arriving we were given a room on the ground floor we asked if we could be moved to a higher floor they asked us to have some lunch come back and they would try and relocate us which they did and we had a lovely room on the second floor the hotel was kept immaculate throughout. Restaurant: when entering you were always greeted by staff which was nice but then it goes down hill food was disappointing and not very hot ,very limited. Pool area was lovely but only one all inclusive bar which limited you to where to sit or you payed for your drinks or walk back round to that bar when you wanted one, very little shade only parasols on man made beach (which was not sand more like gravel). Entertainment was typical of all inclusive hotel some nights better than others. Again you only had two bars open for all inclusive or pay for your drinks! . Over all we had a lovely relaxing break, would I return to this hotel ? Yes if the price was right.

Tabaiba Princess, Malpalomas

This was a weeks all inclusive holiday with First Choice. The hotel was spacious and immaculately clean in all its departments, and the service throughout was excellent. Our room was spacious but on opening the curtains we found we were looking into the balcony of a room in the sister hotel about 30 ft away it also saw little sun, not what we expected for the price, needless to say we did not use it.
The dining room was spacious, and the food was varied and very good, considering it is a buffet. The freshness of the food was achieved by putting relatively small amounts at a time but frequently replacing the tray, this could result in delay whilst a tray was replaced. The problem with the dining room was the number of babies and small children in the hotel, these were distributed evenly throughout the room, so you were guaranteed to be never far from a grizzling baby or a shouting toddler.
The ‘all inclusive’ worked well the service was good and the drinks available whilst not “branded’ were adequate for the purpose.
The evening entertainment in both the theatre and the piano bar was good, though the experience was marred by the presence on noisy children particularly In the Piano Bar late into the evening.
The grounds of the hotel were spacious, providing several pools, plenty of loungers, coffee bars. There is a sauna, steam room, a gym, and a large activity area. Unfortunately there were children in the adults only pools, and in both the Sauna and the Steam room, despite clear prohibition notices on display.
If you have children you will find this Hotel very child friendly, if you are looking for peaceful civilized holiday, go somewhere else!!

We stayed first week of June and stayed all inclusive with first choice/Thomson. Rooms clean and pool area clean. Reception nice and grand entrance, but 5 star ends there.
The sign outside hotel says 4 star but Thomson say it's 5 star premier!
You have to pay for a safe and fridge in the room, and pay to change pool towels. In every other 4/5 star we have stayed in you get clean pool towels daily.
The bar service is slow and not exactly cheerful! At other hotels you get table service and they remember your favourite drinks and you feel looked after... Here it's like they want to limit how much you drink.
The joining hotel is half board and it's advertised by Thomson as being able to use both hotels but you can't. Only certain bars are all inclusive so unless you want to pay for drinks you can't use the other bars!
Food really poor. No a la carte restaurants included whereas if you go to Mexico or Egypt you get 2/3 nights at an a la carte. Buffet restaurant poor choice, poor quality and cold. Some nights we literally could not find anything we liked so had to go out to eat. We ate out 4 out of 7 nights because food just so poor. This has never happened to us at other hotels so not like we are fussy.
Have to pay a lot for late check out (we had to pay 65 euro) and given it's already all inclusive so all you want is a room it's very expensive and they don't even send the maid to give you fresh towels after paying all that money! The maid actually didn't turn up on 2 other days which is not 5 star treatment.
They say The hotel has loads of pools. It doesn't. It's one huge pool separated by little bridges and if you want to be near all inclusive bar it's quite limited where you can base yourself.
Lack of shade at pool and only parasols are on the man made beach area so no choice where to sit really.
Very little to do at nighttime. Only one all inclusive bar which is piano bar which is boring and not exactly top class performers! If you want to sit on terrace that means sitting amongst smokers constantly. I think Thomson need to address that Brits don't expect this nowadays and some outdoor spaces should be fresh air!
Entertainment room opens about 9 and entertainment really poor. Very cheesy and low class.
Overall we had a nice relaxing break but just not 5 star and we spent a lot of money eating out. Thomson reps lovely but think they need to address its not 5 star.
Location also not great as it's 25 min walk to beach and resort of meloneras. Resort nice but expensive and it's very classy so eating out not cheap.

Well where do i start.. we have been to this hotel five times and never been disappointed.. it is joined with the Princess Hotel … you can share both facilities. There is 5 pools, Massage Centre,
Hairdressers, Gym, and shops to browse. The food is always fresh and so much to choose from, also you help yourselves to wine in the restaurant. The staff here are so helpful … nothing is too much trouble. The rooms are clean, room service is excellent, and the views from the balconies are out of this world.

Well what can I say ? Two hotels joined together one all inclusive the other half board. 5 pool bars ( only 1 ) is all inclusive therefor you are limited as to what pool you decide to stay around. Massage Centre , Gym , Toilets all on other side.
To be perfectly honest this hotel would probably be a 5* if all inclusive guests were not made to feel like 2nd class citizens.
I could tolerate paying for the fridge & safety deposit box and the wifi that you pay for was very good.
Shame the food was 2* not much option and struggled to find an evening meal. Had to make to with pool snack bar to fill you up.
Such a shame as the hotel is pretty impressive but all is not quite as it seems.
Unless they open all the hotel bars up as an all inclusive option I would never return and would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
