I have just returned from a week of 29 degrees in a hotel full of the most wonderful staff and brilliant organisation. I went for a girlie week with my 25 year old daughter.
Extrememly impressed about every aspect they have to offer. One suggestion though; bring your own pillow. The beds are very hard and so is the pillows! Luckily we always bring ours with us!
I have read other reviews before we went and diagree with most of the bad ones. The food is freshly cooked and never on show for long before it is thrown away and replaced with fresh dishes. It is NO trouble for the chef to cook you something even fresher eg soft eggs and crispy bacon; steak rare etc.
The variety of food is overwhelming and caters for nearly every palate I could think of! I am wheat and gluten free and there was at least 9 dishes I could confidently eat at lunch & supper.
The bar staff are just so friendly as are the tour reps.
Even though the hotel seems huge and daunting it only takes a walk around it to work out where you are. The sister hotel is for the half boarders so there can be no confusion for the all inclusive guests.
There are more than enough sun beds for everyone so no need to ever get up early to drape ones towel over it. Having said that there were still the people that did - old habits die hard I guess?
The entertainment was very good and particularly the parrott show where these incrediable parrots were skateboarding; counting sums; pitching a basket ball through a net! The Bollywood was very unexpected with wonderful twists to the show. The magic show was very funny and very professional. The acrobatics again was breathtaking with positions that just seemed impossible. I could go on but that would spoil it.
The taxi rides seem to never be more that 4 euro wherever you go towards the beach front to view the sand dunes. Look out for a restruant that does all the tapas on the menu for 24 euro for 2 (12 each!) Its on the right hand side of the beach front about 1 minute from some shops! More than you can eat.
The excursion from Thompson 'Musical Hall Tavern' drag act show was such good value. Transport, 3 course meal, free drinks and a 2 hours brilliant show all for 49 euros. We actually want to go see them when they tour Britian this winter.

As you can tell we had a fabulous time and my daughter is returning in September with her friend and I am bringing my husband back late September also.
The animation team are a huge laugh and I was hopeless at golf, darts, table tennis and rifle shooting but still had so much fun. They do many other activities as well.

I have recently returned from a one week all-inclusive stay at Tabaiba Princess Hotel with my 16 year old daughter.
We were in search of sun, swimming and relaxation and that is exactly what we got. The hotel exceeded our expectations and we would definitely return there if we were in need of more of the same.
The hotel guests were mainly English and German with a mix of demographics. Mainly couples (of all ages) but some families with pre-school children, it being term time. There were also some elderly Brits. The hotel appears to cater well for small children, with a separate pool, a kids club and play area. I probably wouldn't bring teenagers unless all they wanted to do was sunbathe, swim and read.
The hotel pool area was clean and well maintained. I was particularly impressed by the recycling bins, which were plentiful.
Our room was HUGE and airy. It was on the top floor and the sun drenched our balcony every morning. The room was cleaned thoroughly every day and anything we asked for (extra pillows etc) we received immediately.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. We were very grateful for their late checkout procedure. Checkout is at 12 noon and our coach to the airport was at 11pm. We left our cases in the luggage room and then had the use of the hotel all day plus a courtesy room to shower and change in (30 mins) free of charge.
The food was great. So much variety it was difficult to choose what to have, Wine, lager and soft drinks were available at lunch and dinner. The cocktails weren't brilliant but that's not really important. We had no problem whatsoever with the all inclusive, but then we stayed in the Tabaiba Princess half of the complex and did not venture into the Maspolomas part which is for half board guests. We had no need to go there to be honest.
A couple of points:
- the transfer from the airport actually took 90 minutes and not the 40 we were told. It took 40 on the way back because we were the last pick up.
-Don't bother with the cocktails
-There are no umbrellas / parasols. many people had taken their own. We found a friendly palm tree!
-You have to pay for the mini golf

On the whole... a fabulous week. Just what we were looking for and a big thank you to the staff of the Tabaiba Princess who were great!

Room tip: Don't go for the ground floor.

We chose this hotel fairly last minute and were pleased with our choice. After our week there we thought it might be good to share a few bits of info which might be handy!

1. The air con isn't great but we went to reception and they gave us an extra key card to leave in the room all the time so the air con didn't switch off when we went out. Not good for the environment but great for a good nights sleep!

2. It takes 20 mins to walk to the beach. On windy days it always had a red flag so you were not recommended to swim in the sea. If you are planning a beach day be aware that if is breezy you might get there to find a big surf!

3. The beds are REALLY hard. Nothing you can do - but just be prepared!

4. If you have long/thick hair take your own hairdryer - the room one is more like a warm breeze!

5. The pool is lovely! We went in early June and it was empty most days. There is a lovely deep section - goes to 1.85m deep. If you are going with little ones there is a lovely shallow pool surrounded by Palm trees for shade

6. If you want shade round the main pool you will need to buy a parasol - the hotel does not provide any parasols

7. The evening entertainment is dire - make the most of the generous all inclusive drinks to meals it bearable! The best night was was the moon/planet viewing by the pool. There were several telescopes set up to use and it really was quite a unique experience. Absolutely amazing views of the moon, jupiter and Saturn - it was run by Astrotrek - it was brilliant!!

8. The buffet is fine - budget for one or two dinners out though (we got a bit bored of the buffet) . dinner for two on the sea front is about 45€ (make sure thought that you don't miss the canarian night in the hotel - great fun and tasty)

9. Ask for a room on the third (top floor) and pool facing

The hotel is very very clean and staff were ultra helpful and friendly. The all inclusive drinks are generous and the food is of an adequate quality. We had a great time here - we wouldn't go in high season as quite a few 'regulars' said it gets absolutely rammed by the pool and in the restaurant. Would definitely go again in either June/ September though.

Ding dong, ding dong Maspalomas/Tabaiba Princess!! (This will make sense once you have spent a few days by the pool....)

Room tip: Ask for the third floor, with view of the pool

This hotel is gorgeous, appearance wise it is spectacular with big open spaces modern seating areas and a professional friendly vibe, not all staff can speak the best English but they do enough and try their hardest to help you and understand you which is more than can be said with some hotels! The food was always full of choice the best options are usually at the first entrance where their is a man cooking this food fresh, there is a variety and I think some people expect a meal to be prepared for them but you create your own meal out of the food there and there is a big enough variety of fresh fish meat salad vegetables ect to do so. You never struggle for a sun lounger and you can like someone else said find yourself relaxing in the pool carefree. Ignore all the petty grumbles it is a lovely hotel and close to the maspalomas centre with breathtaking views and sun sets :) enjoy your holiday!!! Only downfall is slightly boring evening entertainment but we got drinks and went to our balcony and enjoyed the view and company!

You get what you pay for, this is a decent 4* all inc hotel, not a 5* in any shape or form & they do not pretend it is, it is Thompson / First Choice who market it as 5* Premier, BUT, if you are after a fly & flop holiday this is a good place to go, reception beautiful, rooms clean as is the rest of the hotel, but is dated, the bed must be the worst bed I have tried to sleep in, so hard. Piano bar great, evening entertainment patchy but what you expect, ABBA tribute were good, missed Elvis :( The main restaurant buffet style ok nothing to get excited about but for the amount they cater for they do well, always something to eat but just not hot enough for me, I like hot food not warm, as for the self service drinks station bit of a pain if a queue but all you can drink & branded soft drinks not cheep versions. main moan about the restaurant is in the evening they insist men (only) have to wear trousers, I wear suite & tie every day & like to wear shorts & T shirt on holiday (only had travelling trousers & had to wear them for dinner for a week) yet ladies can wear shorts or what ever they like, don't get it, but they will not let you in if not wearing trousers, simple as that & enforced. The out side space is vast, clean & good, loads of sun loungers to chose from but no umbrellas (other than a dozen knackered ones on artificial beach). Artificial beach like walking on cat litter but appreciated the touch. You will have to pay for the safe, about 14euro for a week, no kettle in room so take a travel one if you like a coffee when wake up, we purchased 5 ltr bottle of water from shop behind article beach behind resort for 1.8 Euro & lasted the week, as we used the all inc rest of the time, can't see point of the fridge unless have medication or baby bottles to keep cool. Oh aircon rubbish in rooms.

Ordered some beautiful flowers for my wife to mark our wedding anniversary whilst out there & was rather painful think was a misunderstanding, when receptionist realised I was happy to pay then was sorted.

Bar staff friendly & drinks flowed freely but were delays, people ordering coffee caused the most delays!!! No waiter service. out side area by Piano bar nice, would be nicer if has a dedicated smoking area, wonder if smokers realise how repugnant the smell is to none smokers, may as well smear them selves in excrement.

In summing up a decent holiday but not 5*, I know as been to 5 star & leap between is vast. but good quality cost efficient week away, pleasant people, pleasant hotel & good drinks & plenty of food. Enjoy.

Room tip: Don't get a room above piano bar unless you will be in the piano bar till midnight every night.
