“Great beach.”
Reviewed 10 November 2013

Great beach with an amazing backdrop with the mountains and nature reserve.
Just be aware of the African ladies selling bracelets...they are quite pushy.Best to say a firm no and keep walking without shaking their hands!

“dirty, expensive and scammers everywhere”
Reviewed 9 November 2013

The title says it all really, the place is run down, expensive and with aggressive tricksters around with no police, not that they would do anything anyway.

The beach wasn't anything special, the dunes were a nice novelty (just remember to wear something on your feet as the sand gets blisteringly hot) and it gets windy.

Only really a place to go if you're only bothered about topping up your tan and you like hot beaches. I can think of better places to do that though. I think it's heyday is well and truly in the past.

“Choppy seas”
Reviewed 5 November 2013

Not sure if it was the time of year or the general windy weather around the globe but the sea was just to rough for me to enjoy a swim! The seafront promenade is a lovely place to stroll along, day or night .

“lots of sandstorms”
Reviewed 4 November 2013

Beach nice, but very crowded and no sunbeds left, lots of sandstorms,( probably wrong day?) be careful of the free tshirt ( in reality a timeshare scam( which we narrowly avoided, never agree to do something straight away is the rule!), on the way into the beach,

“Great fun!”
Reviewed 31 October 2013

This is a huge expanse of yellow, soft, (and natural!) sand backed by sand dunes. We always go the lighthouse end (Faro de Maspalomas) as it is a bit quieter there. The beach is lined with bars and there is a small promenade with lots of shops selling seaside essentials and other knick knacks. However, for me, the best part of this beach is the sea. Being the Atlantic it comes crashing in and it is great fun to jump the waves and try to "surf". However, be careful, you will be knocked over!
