Comfortable accommodation. Good standard of cleanliness. Helpful staff. Pool super. Wifi poor. Travelling companion already a member of Silverpoint so had no trouble with them. Two hundred characters? Too many - nothing left to say.

Just returned from a two week stay in a two bedroom apartment in the John Wayne block. The complex is clean and tidy and reception staff very helpful. The rooms in our apartment were very large (see photos) and has everything you can think of provided. The pool area is well managed and daytime entertainment fun. We always got sunbeds, but my husband waited from 8am and you have to stay with them or lose them. The pool side bar serves decent food and the onsite supermarket isn't nearly as expensive as I'd expected given previous reviews. The bistro restaurant however is pretty dreadful both service and quality wise, we would not recommend! For food and takeaway Bella Roma opposite is fantastic value for money and tastes great. Belvedere is also good, but we preferred Bella Roma. Having our baby with us we were provided with a cot bed and offered other baby bits, the cot was old and mattress didn't fit quite right, but our baby slept brilliantly so can't complain. We got a hire car from autoreisen as I didn't want our baby in taxis etc. There is plenty of free parking on the roads surrounding and the island is really easy to navigate so would recommend, then you also don't have the issue of the hill to deal with! Overall a great family holiday we would certainly recommend the resort and hope to return one day.

We had a very relaxing week in this great complex. A quick 25 Euro trip from the airport and though we had been pre-warned by family of the steep climb to this complex, we got our first real feel for it as we arrived. Despite arriving on a Friday, check in was efficient and the room easy to find.
We had a room on the top floor and was pleased to find a good sized 2 bed with the master bedroom on the floor above.
The kitchen is well kitted out with plenty of crockery, utensils and food containers, so no complaints on that front. The tv had a number of English channels and the DVD player came in handy at times too.
The only negative with the apartment was the size of the balcony, compared to some of the other apartments below - but not knowing the configuration and assuming they did not have a bedroom upstairs - it was not enough of an issue to warrant a complaint or change of room. The ac seems to blow cold from late afternoon untl midnight - which I can understand as the temperature is noticeably cooler in the evenings and early morning, but it did mean that it did get a bit stuffy in the kids room after midnight as there was no ceiling fan. Housekeeping did a great job as towels seemed to get refreshed and apartment cleaned without any inconvenience to us.
The main pool area was interesting. Having been a lifeguard myself, it was refreshing to see one take his job seriously and applying some very clear rules to make the pool that much safer and more pleasant for users. There were some strict rules. The pool area is opened at around 8.30am by a security guard, to allow the usual rush of hardcore bed reservations - by around 9am there are beds available but in a relatively compact pool side you are left with the odd single dotted around or a couple on the side that remains in the shade until 11.30. I did observe the lifeguard leaving notes at around 9.15 on beds that had towels with no noticeable owners and by around 10.30 if the notes had not been removed and still had no owners he would remove the towels. An action some may want to argue as unfair as my own wife did, but I think in a pool area that clearly could not accomodate all guests of the complex (I believe there were c 800 in the week we were there) should they all decide to use the pool at the same time, but I felt it was a good practice to avoid excessive bed blocking. I am not saying pool beds were a big problem as I did not notice people coming downn unable to find beds - it's just that I felt the pool side was a bit claustrophobic. Another good rule firmly enforced by the lifeguard was that there were no inflatables or balls allowed in the pool between 11 and 4.30 - which meant at 4.30 there was absolute bedlam, but as we were very much part of it - it was not a problem for us. My only real criticism is the cleanliness of the pool itself. The water was a little cloudy for my liking - I do appreciate that many would not shower off suntan cream before entering the pool, but I cannot say I ever saw anybody actually cleaning the the pool in the week that we were there and I was up at around 6.30 overlooking the pool and there until late. I do not think it was the lifeguards job to clean the pool and I only make the comment because the water quality was visibly - 'not the best' and the grout in the pool was stained in some areas.
The animation team headed by Marco were very good and not overly pushy to get people involved.
The on-site shop was a good 'convenience store', perfect for early morning croissants and baguette but if better choice and value for money is what you want, then there is a Dialprix 10 mins downhill in the shopping complex, open for 8.30 - 9.30.
There was evening entertaInment every night, but we only went on the one night as my son wanted to see the magician - it was fab for kids and adults.
Checkout was as efficient as check in, but no late check out was available as they were fully booked so we made use of the luggage store and they are happy for you to use the shower facilities in the sports centre before actually leaving later in the day.
Overall - this complex was perfect for a family holiday. The walk down to Los Cristianos was an easy 15 mins, with a number of very reasonale restauarants en-route and if you do not fancy the walk back up, there are plenty of taxis at the bottom of the hill that will save your legs for 4 Euros.
If you are holidaying at the Hollywood Mirage, I am pretty sure you will have a good stay.

Just returned from 2 weeks at the hollywood mirage had a fantastic holiday. We were in a 2 bed for the first week in the White House which was huge with 2 balconies. Moving to a 1 bed for the second week I thought would be a nightmare but we were given the keys early in the morning so we could move while the kids were in bed! 1 bed apartment in Charlie Chaplin was still large with a large balcony. The whole complex is spotless with friendly, helpful staff. The animation team especially Marco and Freddie made the holiday memorable for the whole family they are great fun.

There is a rush for sunbeds but as the pool area does not open until 8.30am it is personal choice whether you get up early enough to queue and it is well managed by the lifeguards who remove towels if guests reserve sunbeds and disappear for hours!!

Would definitely go back to this resort.

This is a quality accommodation block and had everything you could ask for (some like the wifi, you have to pay for). We were here on Silverpoint promo and thus were required to attend a presentation. My wife and I believed it would last 90 mins max . Unbelievably lasted 4 and a half hours!!! Kept saying no thanks we weren't interested in committing to the scheme. Then a manager was called over (Swedish and called either Johann or Steffan?) he tried more pressure and still we said no. Eventually he said ," IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD £**** PER MONTH YOU NEED TO LEAVE AND GET BACK TO WORK.'
Unbelievable and left a real sour taste for my wife and I. I am a Headteacher and my wife a teacher . We don't need to be told when to go back to work by some large bully! (Nobody does!)
The resort itself is lovely. People complain about the onsite shop . You have to remember that it is a convenience shop and as such a few items are slightly more expensive, but on the whole we found it great. If you want better value look for the Dialprix supermarket in the local shopping centre 5 mins down the hill. There is an even closer one but it's not as well stocked or as good value. Ladies working in the onsite supermarket were always very friendly (Linda and Mandy I believe). Great for early morning croissant and paper.
Poolside entertainment is excellent and provided by Marco and Freddie. Both work very hard and are great fun. There is a bit of a scramble for pool beds but only if you want a particular spot. Lots of great bars and restaurants downhill . Just remember you have to walk back up! From the town a taxi back at night cost us €3:45 so five euros covered it.

Enjoyed a sun filled two weeks with the family. Just back. Apartment okay. Had better on this site but two bedrooms and two bathrooms a bonus. Wifi very slow in apartment 6204 which was a long way from the reception, Main pool area. Bit irritating that even having paid for wifi you can only log on with one device at a time. That could be improved. BBQ nights good value. Acts and menu changed each week on 2 week rota. Animation staff hard working and fun. This time hired a car which was invaluable and meant could see more of the island and not have to climb cardiac hill back to the resort. All things considered next time in Canaries might have a change.

First time here. Enjoyed our 2 weeks stay. Special thanks to restaurant and pool bar staff . Lovely studio apartment with excellent cleaning staff. However night time entertainment could do with a uplift and sun beds around the pool is a problem(not enough!)
