It was my first time in Malta and I had a great time there.
Luna Hotel is clean, close to the beach and the bus stop that takes you to the old town.
I was in a self contained unit, the room was big with a nice kitchen and a small balcony. Air conditioning is extra (10 Euro a day) and you need it in the summer as it is really hot. Wi-fi is only in reception area (15 Euro extra for 5 days).
Staff was lovely and very helpful

We've just come back from staying at the Luna Hotel for 14 nights. My first thoughts on seeing the room were 'oh no what have we done' but once we'd settled into the early days we soon found that the room had everything we needed even though it was very basic. We had a problem with the bedding when we first arrived as I didn't think they were clean enough. I complained at reception and within half an hour, the beds were changed and a full apology from the head maid was given. The bedding was changed every few days, the towels were changed every other day, the room was cleaned when the bedding was changed. I swept the floor most days due to the general build up of sand and dust etc. We stayed in room 1308 which had a view of the opposite building but with the sea in the background, the balcony had two chairs which we used to dry clothes on. The pool on the roof was really nice until the kids appeared and ruined the silence and tranquility!! Diving in, throwing balls, splashing etc!!! I know its a family hotel but it did get on my nerves especially as it isn't supervised but we made the best of it. We did the usual trips to Valletta and Mdina which I would recommend to anyone going to Malta. The buildings were amazing to see compared the rest of the island. We also did a boat trip with the English Rose, this was another great day out and well worth the money €12ea. The buses are an experience!! Especially one driver that continued to tell the people off for not moving back on the buses so he could jam pack it!! But for €1.50 per day, you couldn't argue. We took a trip to Gozo on the ferry then jumped on a tour bus, another fab day out that I would advise anyone to do. The restaurants near the Luna were good, the best one was Ix-Xatba. The food was amazing and so was the service, a little pricey compared to some places but so worth it. Also the Master Wok Chinese restaurant up the hill in Mellieha town was good too, another one we went to a few times. Other than that, it was pasta and pizza dishes that seemed to be the main thing on the menu. The beach (best one in Malta) was about 5 mins walk away from the Luna, it gets very busy but the sea is lovely. We had two beds and umbrella for the day which was €12, the following time we put our towels on the sand which was free!!
All in all, Malta was a lovely place and I'm pleased we went and did all the trips we wanted to do. The Luna was basic, generally clean and good value. The bar attached to the hotel run by Rocco was good to chill out in.

Room Tip: Have a room with air con, its worth paying the extra as it was so hot in August.

Stayed at the Luna holiday complex in May this year, had a great holiday, within walking distance of resort and lovely sandy beach, bus stop just along from complex and excellent price for weekly ticket, 6 euros. The complex itself was spotlessly clean, nice reception area and bar, reception staff really helpful and friendly. We were upgraded to a superior studio free of charge.
Would definitely stay again.

This was our 1st time in Malta and the Luna Holiday Complex really was a good choice. The reception staff were always very helpful and welcoming. Our room which was in block 5 was amazing, it was very modern and very comfortable and spacious. We had a great holiday at the Luna and will definitely return.

Room Tip: Try to book direct and not through a travel agent. Rooms in Block 5 are modern and spacious.

We have stayed in this hotel two weeks and after exploring the island and competing with other hotels I have to admit that it was a good decision. Malta is very limited with sand beaches and next to the hotel is the largest one (3 minutes walk). Place is very clean with few restaurants around (very good fresh seafood). In close distance is one mini super market and green market as well. This place is good for people seeking quite vacation, no nightlife like pubs or night clubs close to the hotel. The island is not a big and has a good public transportation so in 10 minutes you can find place to hang out. Cleaning service is every second day including towels changing. We enjoyed the stay!

Room Tip: Rooms with sea view are quieter

Just returned from the Luna holiday complex, had a wonderful 2 week holiday.
Reception staff were welcoming and efficient, nothing too much trouble and always pleasant.
Stayed on fourth floor country view read reviews that roadside was noisy and yes there was some noise but nothing excessive and only when balcony door was open.
We had a one bed apt that was well furnished, clean and the beds were comfortable. Maid service - towels changed every 2nd day and bins emptied. Every 4 days the rooms were cleaned.
As it was August and very hot air-con is a must 140 euros for 2 weeks but free if room booked direct and well worth it!
Although we had booked self catering we upgraded to half board when we arrived All you can eat buffet breakfast and dinner- food was excellent! Restaurant and bar staff were a credit to the hotel and made it a great holiday especially Meg,Paula and Tomo.
Public transport in Malta- buses are excellent ,air-con and for 1.50 euro per day, per person to travel the island on any normal bus service, an experience not to be missed!
Excellent holiday will hope to return next year.

Room Tip: 4th floor, less noise, good view
