“Rude staff, filthy place, horrible service”
Reviewed 23 June 2014

Ask for the terms and conditions when making a reservation as there are many undisclosed conditions. Definitely not a 4 star hotel - barely a 1 star. Duty manager was very rude although he was at fault for failing to disclose conditions such as that men only allowed in long trousers in the very low quality restaurant. Room not cleaned and toileteries and towels not supplied. Food was disgusting - stale bread for breakfast, diluted orange squash presented as orange juice! no variety of items, and no dessert for breakfast. Toilets in foyer were filthy. Mattress seems is remnant of the last world war! telephone not working. only one plug in room - no idea of mobile phones needing to be charged. no free wi-fi.

Room Tip: avoid this hotel - needs total revamp of place, service and staff!

Having read all the reviews, they virtually cover most of the topics. It is a nice hotel if you want peace and quiet.Mostly occupied by senior citizens and the hotel caters very well for these people. The staff were very helpful and yes, you dont realise the bill you are running up until you go to pay it! The bus service puts our bus services to shame especially if you happen to live in a rural area. However at least our buses are generally in one piece. There are no such things as an orderly queue. Its every man/Woman for him/herself. You cannot see inside the bus due to them having tinted windows and then you discover the dam thing is full, so as soon as you have a ticket grab something static otherwise you could end up in a heap at the rear of the bus, hopefully on top of someone soft. However the cost of a day ticket more than makes up for the rush hour syndrome all day. It is excellent value for money. Watch out for timeshare touts at most bus stations.A good way of seeing the island is on the top of an ex London transport double decker open topper, but again hang on for dear life. All in all Malta is a lovely place to visit, steeped in history and the people are friendly and they speak english. We are looking forward to our next visit but will probably stay in Sliemma or Buggiba and visit Mellieha for the sandy beaches.

Room Tip: Go for one which is close to the restaurant and overlooks the bay

This Hotel is in the process of being refurbished to a good standard which was needed as it was built in 1969.All rooms with the exception of the ground floor have a beautiful sea view, ground floor rooms are hit and miss due to trees and bushes.Location of the Hotel is ideal for daytime but a little remote for evening. You would have to be a very fussy eater if you could not find something to enjoy from the buffet, dining room policy for gentlemen to wear trousers and a sleeved shirt for evening meals is a nice touch, also no problem finding a table for two. This Hotel is more suited to people able bodied as there are lots of steps and the majority of holiday makers are in the 50 plus age group so fairly quiet.Whilst we have been there in June there has never been a problem finding a sunbed.Note of caution access to the sea from the jetty is quite difficult as the ladder has not been replaced. Flying from Birmingham has been made less pleasant due to not departing until 22.25 which means arriving at you room at 4am, not a good start to your holiday.

Hotel was ok but a bit isolated unless your looking for a quiet holiday.buses are very regular and will take you anywhere on Island, view from balcony looks across the bay and sandy beach.all staff are very polite, food is ok but if your half board and sigh for your drinks they are very overpriced and plus vat.room was kemp very clean and maids are very good.overall not a bad hotel but I would not stop here again, the only reason is very quiet and out of the way.

Room Tip: Pick room a room from second floor upwards, views are excellent.

The bay is fantastic there is no doubt about that, make sure you get a sea view. Hotel rather dated I know the outside has been painted but corridors to the rooms need attention. Dinner times are a gamble food is ok but people coming straight from the pool into dinner isnt acceptable. Hotel is isolated and evening entertainment is awful. Rooms are nice if you get one of the refurbished ones. Love malta fantastic island and will go back but not to this hotel, sorry.

Just had our second visit to this hotel. Went to malta last year but couldnt fit in all we wanted to see so returned this year. The food is varied and well cooked and the restaurant is air conditioned. The bus stop from where you can catch buses all over the island is 5 minutes walk away. Some reviews have said the hotel is out of the way but its not a very big island so no journey is longer than an hour, and for the gozo ferry, its ideal, only 5 mins away. So like many things in life it pays to do your homework, if you want noise and bustle, kids clubs and a benidorm atmosphere its probably not for you. If you want a peaceful hotel with beautiful views from numerous terraces both shunny and shady, wonderful gardens, two lovely pools and a private beach on hand, this is the place for you. However it should be noted the hotel is built into a hillside so there are lots of steps. Also I can recommend a massage treatment from lovely rita as an extra holiday treat. Will definately be returning to this hotel.

returned from this hotel on the 27th may 2014, went here as a family of 20 due to myself and husband getting married here, my wedding was amazing and couldnt of had asked for a nicer day the weather was perfect and so was the hotel grounds also the the hotel over looks the sea near enough everywhere u go, right 1st of all the only young people in this hotel were the couples that were getting married this hotel caters mainly for the elderly and there is nothing to do whats so eva for children we had 6 children wiv us ageing from 2 to 12 no kids clubs, no mini disco and one show out of the 2 weeks which was a sword swallower the rest of the time was ballroom dancing and organ player which gets a little repetitive and boring after 2 weeks,
food and drinks - the best inclusive drinks menu ive had out of all the hotels i have been to every drink you can think of vodka, mabliu, gin, amertto, rum, martini wine, beer, cocktails juice, there is also a good choose of food never got bored of it, takaway bar in between 12 and 3 serves burger, hotdogs, nuggets, scampi. sandwiches, burgettes and crisps are served all day long, ice cream and lollies which to can help yourself to through the day all inclusive starts at 9.30am and goes on untill 12.45pm.
rooms - were big enough if there was only 2 of you but if you were a family of 4 like us it was a squeeze also on a few occassions my room wasnt cleaned and bins were left full,
The hotel is in a lovley place next to the beach and just a water taxi away from a few little shops and bars but if you want go up to mellieha its best to jump on the bus outside the hotel for 1.50 euro for a day ticket, we went up there several times and ad a few meals out
overall we ad a fantastic holiday becuase we kept ourselves entertained with there being so many of us, only choose this hotel due to my wedding which we will never forget, but if your younger and wiv children i wouldnt go here and the elderly look at you like you souldnt be here either

Room Tip: all rooms are sea view
