Please, please do not book this hotel unless you're desperate. The beds are uncomfortable, the food is minimal and badly cooked, the decor needs updating and it all show how little is spent on the place. The dining room tables are glass and are chipped at the corners, very dangerous. On days when the weather is bad there is very little entertainment so bear that in mind if you book a winter break.
The views on the other hand are breathtaking, and the vantage point is vast.
The service is good the staff are friendly but they are working on a shoestring budget and it shows.
We had booked all inclusive as a last minute thing, I know, big mistake!
This hotel could be a gold mine if it was managed properly, I very nearly offered to make deserts and cakes as the bread and butter pudding gets very boring, and it was of poor quality.
Glad to get home.

yes the tables are bad and the choice of food was minimal , but this place is more like a glorified guest house than a hotel , yes if you go to hotels that cater for more than 100 rooms then you will get a larger choice of food , but when you are only catering for 20 to 30 people then you can understand that there is a minimal choice ,but dont forget that at lunch time you ordered from the bar and the food was prepared and brought to you in the bar area , and a wider selection to choose from , this you would not get in a large hotel ,the staff were all polite and room was kept clean everyday during our stay ,
On a positive note , if you are looking for somewhere with great views and easy access to the rest of Malta and dont mind the minimal choice of food then this is the place to be , bus stop only 5-10 minutes away , with buses going both directions with connections to the rest of the island and Gozo

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday in Malta, however the hotel was another matter. Whilst the views were stunning, the dining area and food were well below par. A lot of comments made about this hotel are to be echoed.

The food and dining area were the worst part for us. The tables are indeed very dangerous (photos supplied). The food - two choices and they do not cater for anyone with dietary requirements, only that the chef would cook an omelette instead! One evening we walked out as the food was so bad. One night we had local fish which although we didn't know what it was, It was ok, however the following night it was on the menu again! very dry and unappetizing with the second choice being meatballs. Hardly anyone ate these and those that did left the majority of them on the plate!

When the resident chef is off, the food certainly does improve slightly but this is normally one night in seven! You are only allowed 2 rolls at breakfast and evening meal. the way the food is served is not hygienic. Hot next to cold. One night the hot (well warm) custard was placed next to a tray of chicken on the edge under a heat lamp. The condensation builds up and starts dripping into the food. The other side of the heated section are the cold meats and salad, again with condensation dripping onto the food. salad being tomatoes, cucumber, green pepper and old lettuce

The ice cream was basically runny every evening as if it had been out for quite a while. We were normally eating around 6.45pm, 15 minutes into dinner service. There were two choices of watery vanilla or chocolate, but t the same scoop was used for both. you just a jug of dirty water to rinse this in.

Breakfast choices were very basic - no yogurts, very poor quality sausages, either over-cooked or under-cooked, these were every other day, then there was bacon which was ok. Solid scrambled egg was another choice or luke warm hard boiled egg in its shell. The bacon or sausage was every other day, as were the egg choices.

Yes, the heat had been turned down whilst the Manager was away and yes, it was very cold in the evenings. Our room wasn't too bad heat-wise but I did feel for the older people that were staying in the hotel.

We did have a foul smell coming from the shower tray (See Photos)
and on 3 occasions asked the cleaner to put some bleach down the trap. i would say that Alex our maid was very good and accommodation, unlike the VERY rude Manager - ARROGANT to say the least.

Mold on the wall.

We would certainly come back to Malta and back to Mellieha Bay but NOT to the Panorama, except to look at the stunning views.

They charge 20 Euro for the Kettle which is dirty and in a dangerous condition and the only sockets in the room are under the dressing table so you have to place the kettle on the floor when you need to boil it. (See Photos)

We stayed for 4 weeks in Jan-Feb 2013, yes I agree with the reports of the dangerous tables in the restaraunt, but they are being replaced soon, even so, there is no excuse for allowing people to use glass tables with badly broken corners, and there were many cases of torn clothing, all they needed to do was fit some corner protectors and the problem would have been rectified. The seating in the lobby was terribly shabby when we arrived but this had been due to Summer guests sitting on leather seating with wet chlorine filled swimsuits when they had been asked not to do so, by the time we left all but one sofa had been recovered. I heard reports from other guests about the state of their rooms but to be honest ours was fine, there was a little black mould on the outside wall when we arrived but our Maid removed it all the following day. Our bed was comfortable and even though the shower was erratic it did work and Alex our exceptional maid kept everything clean and tidy. The staff are very hardworking and were friendly, unfortunaltely the same can not be said for Joe the Manager who was rude and downright unhelpful to anyone with a complaint. A bit of a Maltese Basil Fawlty! His attitude seemed to be, if you don't like it then go somewhere else. His only real interest was his spotless fish tank which sits between the lobby and the restaraunt. He turns the heating off for most of the day and you can only heat your room at around 5 in the afternoon, not helpful as there was a bug going round while we were there, I was angry with him for turning off the heating before departing on his own holiday leaving a large amount of elderly guests cold for two days until someone turned it back on, The food was OK but that's all I can say really, though their soups were all home made and very nice. The best night was Wednesday when the resident Chef was off ! and they run out of bread rolls very quickly due to guests taking up to 6 when the Manager only seems to allow for 2 per person. Due to the size of the hotel you get to know all the guests and we had some brilliant people on this holiday meaning that we had a real laugh. The five night a week entertainment was good and the musicians were friendly and with the exception of one they interacted with the guests really well which created a lovely atmosphere. The Hotel is situated on the headland and can be very windy but the views are fantastic. Unfortunately to get the view the patio faces away from the sun and doesn't get much in the winter. It is a bit of a climb to get out as the hotel sits on a cliff and you have to go up a short hill to go anywhere so not good for people who find walking difficult, but the busses are only a 10 min slow walk away and will take you anywhere on the island. All in all we had a great time this was a cheap out of season holiday and you do get what you pay for, you couldn't get a room in a hotel with sea views where I live in the UK for the price that we paid for a week all inclusive so what do people expect. The food was basic but nobody was ill from it, the Manager is an aquired taste but you had to see the funny side. There were a few guests who seemed to do nothing but look for things to complain about. Why they stayed I have no idea, though I did get the feeling that they were cerial complainers who would have found fault anywhere. To be fair if they wanted 5 star they should have paid for it.

Room Tip: If you go to bed early ask for a room from the second floor up as the first floor is above the bar and can be noisy.

We should have known, you get what you pay for. Was like an OAP outing at this hotel. AND THE FOOD IS DIABOLICAL! We are not fussy eaters, but the food is just awful. Staff not particularily friendly either. View from hotel rooms great, but this was the only good thing about our first and I think our only trip to Malta.

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for a sea view.
