We had a nice holiday although there were a few problems with the hotel itsself. Our room was lovely and clean couldnt falt this and cleaned daily with fresh towels and bedding. Our whole family were happy with all the meals served we thought it was fantastic food and plenty of choice every night same for breakfast. The indoor pools could do with updating not as nice as they look in the picture, every extra's like sauna jacuzzi and gym were not free and you had to pay to use these facilities. Some of the staff were lovely like andrea from the animations team and joe on night reception, most of the others were rude and unhelpful. We found most days the pools were quiet and just had holiday visitors but when the weekend arrives as this hotel is open to the public it is jam packed and you can not get any room anywhere from 8am till about 7pm when the pool closes.Way too busy on these days. The downfall of this hotel mostley was the entertainment for the children, if you have children please do not book this hotel we had our 2 small children with us and althought they do have entertainment like disco, bingo and some games they all start at 9.30pm which by then my kids were a sleep. very boring for them at night and you cant go anywear as the buses to the other towns stop around 8pm and to get a taxi back it cost us £25 euros. We did have a nice holiday but very very quiet and boring at night. The bistro serves nice food too howver the service is very slow and waitresses are rude.

Yes the rooms need updating but mine was kept clean & the towels changed daily. You can get towels from reception for the beach/pool daily. The majority of staff were friendly, there will always be rude ones somewhere. The entertainment needs help but they do try. I never had to queue for any meal. My biggest complaint was the locals that pay to use the hotel. I feel they should manage that better if they insist on doing it.
On the whole we had a pleasant stay.

This is not written by a grumpy guest as I had a good holiday, but I feel I need to write this. Firstly the rooms were bad resembling my nan’s house, old and need of complete renovation, secondly they make you pay for the fridge, unbelievable for a 4 star hotel. Breakfast and dinner is quite an amusing experience, for breakfast you have to queue for the tea and coffee, and some times for 20mins, it is done completely on the cheap everything is totally minimal and you are served by school kids who are more interested in eating the breakfast themselves instead of giving a good service. Dinner is much the same apart from the speed they try to get you in and out of the dinning room, god help you if you are half an hour late. Lastly the hotel opens its doors every day to local families to use the facilities, this means at weekends the place is very busy, again do you really expect this from a 4 star hotel. In conclusion and in my opinion this hotel is no where near the standards of a 4 star hotel.

Paradise this most definitely is not. Staff are rude and surly, they could not care less.
I do not expect to get my tea at breakfast from a machine, and do not expect to have to stir it with a plastic winder, there was not a teaspoon to be had in all the hotel dining area. Certainly not 4 * for service or food content.
An invasion of locals on Sundays whose behaviour was not checked by staff or management. Glass bottles around the poolside is not on.
I do not expect to have to pay extra for a special remote control to watch tv in my room.
Sunbeds a plenty but no poolside drink area or food/snack bars.
Entertainment was childish to say the least.
For such a large hotel with so many guests the bars were no way sufficient.

Paradise Bay Hotel, Malta
July 2008 travelling from Leicester
Your must be joking - no way is this a 4* hotel. We visited 2 years ago and on that basis returned. Sorry we did now. We had to pay extra for the use of a refridgerater which was useless. Hotel staff seemed totally disinterested in everyone. Knowing the area already we hired at car only to find that after a morning out we had no where to park due to the hotel letting the local Maltese families pay to use the pool for the day, therefore leaving nowhere for the hotel guests to go. Up to a 100 extra people descended upon the pool area. The pool became overcrowded with very ignorant 'wrist banded' lido dwellers. Our belongings were moved from a sun lounger (one lounger shared by seven people) by one of the so called 'wrist banders'. Needless to say we complained to the manager who didn't really want to know and his only explanation was that it was 'Fiesta'. He obviously makes a vast amount of money from this daily venture and can therefore afford to ignore the residents! Food was adequate but the entertainment was diabolical. We shall not be returning or recommending this hotel.

My Mum (54), and me (28) wanted a week in a quiet location with nice weather and Paradise Bay over exceeded our expectations. We got a late, cheap deal online and after reading some of the postings on here about the hotel I wasn't expecting much, but give praise where praise is due, so here I go.........
The hotel was extremely clean and the majority of the staff were helpful. The food was lovely, plenty of it, and as most posts on here say there were plenty of sunbeds available!
The entertainment was not very good, but we went to this hotel for a quiet time away so this didn't really matter. They had Bingo some nights, in all different languages, and a country singer another night. The children there seemed to have fun and the entertainers were very good with them.
I would definitely recommend a sea view room as some of the rooms around the back would have not had good views, but we overlooked the sea and could see the Gozo Ferry which was nice. The rooms were of high quality and had all required appliances.
I would recommend people to stay here if a quiet holiday is required.

The hotel in general is not bad but if you expect your room to be great when you are only paying £30 each a night then you will be dissapointed.
The pools are great, the food i found to be quite nice, but the fact that you can wait ages for a waiter to bring you a drink is frustrating- you cannot get your own drink.
However, the hotel is in the middle of nowhere - the buses stop at 6pm and the taxis are a rip-off. There is a quiet cocktail bar down the road but thats about it.: if you want a quiet holiday then its ok, if not, its boring.
The hotel's location is good, near the ferry and paradise bay beach within walking distance.
The driving and roads in Malta are appalling so beware of this if you hire a car.
