“Excellent Hotel & Lovely Staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 21 September 2011

Having just spent 2 weeks at the Ramla Bay for our honeymoon, all I can say is wow, we had a lovely room on the 4th floor which was always kept tidy and clean. The check in process was brilliant as we arrived best part of 3 hours early, we had to wait for a while whilst the supervisor checked that the room was in 100% condition for us to go up, we had some lunch then we were given the cards for the room. Wow was all we could say about the room, it was lovely and we had lovely views accross the bay as well. During our stay we had meals at the main restaurant (as we only stayed as B&B) and the food was always lovely! The staff at the hotel are lovely and we could not fault anyone of them, nothing was to much trouble for them. They really did put up with some awkward customers as well, but always answered with a smile! The only thing we can complain about was the size of the car park, not very big for the amount of cars, especially when locals use the car park for the use of beach etc, I do believe that the car park should be for hotel residents only. But all in all well done Ramla for a lovely honeymoon!

Had a week at this hotel at the end of August with my three grandchildren, had a wonderful time something for everyone, the food was very good with lots of choices, even the kids were eating and trying different things. The kids club at night was brilliant and the kids really enjoyed themselves. The rooms were clean and spacious, the entertainment team were excellent and friendly as were all the staff.
The pools were lovely and there were always sun beds so you didn't have to get up early and put your towels on the beds. The little beach was quite small but enough beds for everyone, the kids loved every minuet of it. The staff were all very nice and helpful, we will certainly be going back sometime in the future.

I had read some reports before travelling to this hotel and was a little dubious,how-ever our experience was pleasantly surprising. We arrived at midnight and had no problem getting a late night sandwich and a welcome cup of tea. Our room was the *lowest floor* and although ground level we had a view of the sea and beautiful shrubbery just outside our balcony.a short 30 yard walk took us to the private beach(although we noticed this beach being used by guests from the neighbouring riveria hotel) there were ample loungers and umbrellas for all. the beach(contrary to another review) was spotlessly clean,in fact the hotel in general was clean and obviously well maintained. All lounging areas had umbrellas and sun loungers in plentiful supply, these are provided free of charge, i had heard from some people that other hotels were charging up to 4 euros for these items. We had gone half board and were a little disappointed to find we had to *rent* a kettle for making tea/coffe etc. although it was only €5 and it was in our room by lunchtime the day after we arrived. The room was spacious and had lots of wardrobe/storage space, equally a large spacious bathroom. The room was cleaned every day(again another review stated this wasnt the case) My only downside were the beds, we had booked a standard twin room, and thats what we got, twin single beds! In a way perhaps the hotel could make this clear as in the past, other hotels stating a twin room usually means 2 small double beds, it wasnt a major issue though.
The staff were polite, courteous and always willing to help in any way possible, mealtimes were smooth and always plenty of food on offer to suit all tastes, some guests were quite rude, almost pushing other people out of the way and queue jumping, one man knocked against my arm and i spilled juice,he then looked at me in disgust as if I was stupid,he then proceeded to give off to a waitress because the last glass was used and he *NEEDED* his orange juice, a few moments later the glass tray was replenished and he walked straight in front of others without a word to get his much needed fix of juice, quite funny really, but the staff seem to have a lot to deal with in some guests and do so with respect despite being treated so rudely! Entertainment was supplied every night at the bar and on one night by the pool,a lively night of dancing and fun, the point animation team joining in and encouraging people to dance and just enjoy! Marco and his team do a great job and the children loved them, the adults too when doing the gentle morning and evening exercise routines in the pool. All in all a great hotel and excellent staff,a credit to the management.
If you dont want to drive a bus stop beside the riveria hotel is within walking distance, but be warned, the return journey wont bring you back this way, you have to stay on the return bus until the terminal at the gozo ferry and reboard another bus going back the way you came, there is another stop you can use but is much further from ramla bay than the riveria hotels, not a good walk for people with mobility issues. The buses can be a little overcrowded to say the least but are reasonably priced at €2.60 for a day ticket which can be used all day on any bus,you can also purchase a 3 or 7 day pass. Malta itself is a beautiful country and we had no problems with language. It was our first visit and when we return it will be to the same resort. Ramla Bay is the place for relaxation and peaceful chillaxin' day or evening. Finally, my husband and I availed of the spa, I had a wonderful *hot stones*treatment and my husband a full body massage, wonderful to be pampered by two lovely young ladies, all in all a great time for us, thanks Ramla bay to your staff in all aspects. I could write so much more but go see for yourself, its worth it!!!!

Room Tip: if youre used to double beds make sure you ask for them, a standard twin room means 2 single beds!

I have been to this hotel in the school holidays with two teenagers and we had a great time. However, this trip was for me and a different sort of holiday. I had booked a single room but was pleased to find I had been given a double! Great location, right on the beach but also a jetty area where you can go straight into deeper water. Take a snorkel. Outside peak times there is no difficulty getting a sun bed on the beach, the rocks or by the pools. No dawn rush! The staff were very good. The food varied and tasty. I did buy a mug for breakfast time as the cups are teeny tiny and you need to take about three at a time to get a good tea 'hit'. The local wine is very drinkable! The little shop in the hotel is a real bonus too. The Gozo trip was interesting, I bought a lovely white gold maltese cross, very reasonable. The Blue Lagoon outside the school holidays is worth a look. Use the water taxis or self drive boats at the hotel. Really nice people. DO NOT go to the Blue Lagoon in the school holidays. It is just AWFUL! Packed, rubbish everywhere, no where to sit, wasps, yuk. I did not enjoy the Captain Morgan Three Islands Trip. I felt like a refugee! I am surprised the boat was still afloat with the number of people crammed aboard. I got off at the first opportunity and made my way back to the hotel.
Ramla Bay is a quiet place. Lovely clear water, good food and wine and the perfect place to recharge your batteries. I am already planning another visit next year.

i have read the reviews on this site for a few weeks before travelling i must say that when we arriveved we were a little dissapointed with the veiw as we had booked and paid for a sea veiw as we were over looking the car park with a sea veiw how ever after veiwing what the hotel has to offer we spent no time on the balcony anyway. we came in at lunch time and being half board we went to the bar expecting to get no more than a burger i was so pleasantly surprissed to see the menu i had seared prawns the menu was very varied not what i had read on some reviews. The food on half board basis is the best i have had any where {and i have travellrled } it was always welll cooked and with such a variety their was always beef chicken pork fish plenty of veg rice potatoes and salads ,seriously if you couldnt find something to eat theres something wrong, for those without a palate theres chips and chicken nuggets.breakfast was alwasys very varied as well.I read a few reviews that staff were rude this is so untrue. The seating to the outside of the restaurant ran like clock work and the young staff work so hard and are so polite the over all cleanliness and upkeep of this hotel is of a very high standard,With beautifull pool areas and a lovely little beach .I read reviews that you need a car for this resort which may put people off again not true we travelled around the island by bus an all day ticket is 2 .euro 60 cent for the wholle day a trip to comino is a must .We booled out at 11 but but because the hotel was fully booked we couldnt hold on to our room our flight wasnt till late but we were able to keep our beach towels and come off the beach get the key to a shower room and get ready for our flight all stress free over all this is a great hotel

The location is very nice, right on the seaside; the room was clean and very large (I stayed went with friends so I got to see their room as well and theirs also was etremely spacious!), the staff was very friendly and the services offered for the price paid were excellent and plenty. Breakfast offered a variety of food and suitable to any type of diet. I liked all about it and I would defiitely stay there again!

We spent a wonderful holiday here this summer. This was our second visit to the hotel and we were delighted to find that if anything the hotel has improved. The pool area must have been extended and the hotel seemed bigger overall with more bar and restaurant facilities. The staff were very family friendly and on the days when we had enough of sight seeing there were plenty of activities to keep the kids distracted and entertained from morning to evening.
The personal highlights for me were the breakfasts and watersports. especially enjoyed the water sports which are available right at the door of the hotel. The guys looking after that end of things do a great job and made sure we got the most out of the various pedalos, jetskis and speed boats we rented.
My wife enjoyed the Spa and said she would return just take more advantage of that. I didn't rate the fitness centre because I never set foot inside it!
The only reason I didn't give value Excellent was because I spent a lot of extra money on the water sports. Not the hotels fault so maybe that's not fair - so I'll say it here the value for the hotel and food is excellent, but keeps an eye on what you spend on the other things - it does not take long to spend more than you thought you might.
Not sure about room service - we never got it. But I would have thought it would be as good as everything else they do there.
The best thing about staying here (and playing here) was definitely the staff - they could not be more helpful and friendly.
