First time in Malta. Travelled 15th to 22nd May 2014
Location of the Hotel somewhat remote, however, we thought it was excellent. Situated on a beautiful little bay with sun loungers overlooking the Ocean. The hotel facilities were very good. Three soon to be four pools including an indoor spa complex . Only two hotels situated around this unique little bay so no worries about the crowds. Small but tidy little beach area, ideal for children. We found the Maltese people extremely friendly and the Hotel staff were no exception. Nothing seemed too much trouble. We had a little issue with the room (see tip) which was dealt with in a professional and courteous manner and although we declined, we were offered a room exchange. Special mention here for John on reception who offered the above without hesitation and made sure we were completely happy with the eventual resolution. Well Done!! Further mention for Maria housekeeping, who was also extremely accommodating and concerned that things were resolved to our satisfaction.
We were B&B and found the breakfast to be of acceptable quality. Little more fresh fruit would have been nice but overall good food, plentiful and replenished right up to the cut off time of 10am. The dining room was clean but the decor a little bland. We felt the use of a few fresh flowers around the food stations would do much to enhance the overall appearance.
We are very independent so hired a car. Do not get a jeep, the roads are poor, think suspension and comfort. If you like to explore in our opinion a car is essential. The Hotel is on the top of the island, we felt that the car gave us the best of all worlds? That said there is a Bus stop within 5-10 minutes walk, buses take you all over the island. By car could reach Valletta in about 30mins. Top to bottom of Island about an hour. If your sunbathers and like chilling out this place is also ideal.
Good holiday and would use this Hotel again if we return to the Island.
