I stayed here in a twin room, with my friend, for a week in May 2014. We chose it because of its remoteness and quiet. I would recommend that you need a car to get here as the hotel is at the bottom of a long cart track. Car hire is available at the hotel reception.
It is a large hotel which was not full when we went but I can imagine it can get very busy at peak times. There are also self-catering chalets at the side of it which can be rented. The dining room was a bit of a bun fight with people getting in each others way when helping themselves to food. However, the choices were varied and of good quality and there was something for everyone. We didn't eat lunch or dinner so I can't comment. The bedrooms were large and beautifully maintained by the cleaning staff, as was the rest of the hotel. There is a shop on the ground floor which sells a large range of items at a reasonable price.
The small private beach at the side of the hotel has come under some criticism on this site for not being clean. Whilst we were there, we witnessed a man and his tractor, hand cleaning it so there were no issues there. To the side of the beach is a hut offering water sports and boat trips with discount for hotel guests. their prices seemed to be very reasonable. Unfortunately on the day we were going to book, the wind blew up and it was too rough to go.
The only downside I can say about the hotel, is the acoustics because of the location. We had a sea view room which looked out over the car park at the front of the hotel and we slept with out patio doors open, so we could clearly hear every noise made outside and someone needs to shoot the peacock which appeared to be resident on the other side of the bay !!!
I would definitely stay here again without hesitation.
