We've just returned from a week at the Seabank hotel. We booked a family room with a sea view but the first room we were given just looked out over a road. When we went back to reception we were quickly given another room which was better (and huge) but as it was on the corner of the hotel overlooking a busy roundabout we weren't sure it was really worth the sea view supplement. However, the room was kept very clean and we didn't have any problems with towels etc. The air conditioning was brilliant and much needed. We were worried about switching on the ceiling fans as they looked like they were hanging by the wiring but our rep assured us that they had passed all the safety tests so we did use them when we needed to.
There was a lot of last minute building work going on. We arrived the day before the Prime Minister and lots of dignatories (including TV crews etc) were coming for the Inaugural Opening so it seemed as if there was a last minute panic to get things finished and the hammering went on until about 3 in the morning which was not a good start to the holiday.
From the Thursday onwards things calmed down a bit and the hotel staff seemed more relaxed. They were all very friendly and helpful.
The pool was lovely and there were always plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas.
Now to the downside - there were very little signs around the hotel to let you know where things were. Some signs were up leading to things which didn't exist (eg the shops and parking in basement - the button was there in the lift but the lifts didn't go down that far).
The food was brilliant for the first couple of days but it did become very repetitive. It was also extremely inconsistent - some days there were 3 or 4 fruits available and other days only 1. They seem to have a problem with the food labels. Often there were no labels or the labels were wrong (eg "rosemary potatoes" turned out to be potatoes with carraway seeds and "curry prawn" pasta was actually prawns and pasta in a garlic sauce). The coffee machines were often out of action (and only available in the mornings at the main restaurant). Most nights we strugggled to find a cohesive meal - for instance on curry night there was no rice to go with the curry and the only potato option was curried which didn't really go with the rest of the food ("veal cordon bleu" etc). Because of the odd combinations on offer our daughter ended up with chips at most meal times which isn't ideal and is nowhere near what we have come to expect from a 4 star all inclusive.
The evening entertainment is pretty dire. The animation team all work exceptionally hard and you can't fault them for their efforts but at the end of the day they are dancing and miming (not always that well) to recorded tracks. One night they put on a comedy night which was just awful and at times very inappropriate considering the number of chilren in the audience. It's such a shame as the entertainment room is excellent (the Dome) and the team are obviously trying very hard.
All in all this just isn't a 4 star hotel. If it wasn't for the pool and the excellent air con we would have really struggled. It's also a bit surprising that so many things are already in need of repair or replacement (the slabs around the pool are already lifting and all the hallway carpets are in a terrible state) when the hotel is so new. If this was sold as a 3 star hotel you probably couldn't really complain but this is a long way off the standards expected of a 4 star hotel.

I have read some reviews on here that have gave the hotel a bad review I would say not to listen to them. There was ongoing work on in the hotel however this is because the prime minister of Malta was officially opening the hotel but it is still going on. We did experience problems with our room but these problems were dealt with immediately. There was entertainment all day every day however in the evenings it was mainly entertainment put on by the animation team. The staff in the hotel were very friendly, helpful and outstandingly welcoming. There was a beautiful pool and it was only 4ft deep and probably the warmest pool I have been in. Also there was food there to cater for everyone. I would definitely recommened this hotel and Malta as it is a beautiful place to go. I would hope to return one day.

We spent a week in August at the Seabank and were very impressed with all aspects of the hotel. The food was plentiful, varied and delicious; our rooms very clean, comfortable and spacious with a fabulous sea view; the pool was huge, clean and extremely well equipped with loungers and huge umbrellas and never seemed overcrowded. We particularly appreciated being directed straight to the lunch-time buffet on arrival before completing the details of checking in. The staff were friendly and helpful and we had a thoroughly enjoyable holiday.

We stayed at Seabank for 10 days. Returned home on 7th August. Family of 4.. Kids aged 14 and 10.. Room was fine. No complaints apart from a dodgy toilet seat that would fall of every time you lifted it up. The food was ok, but maybe a little more choice for the evening menu in the buffet restaurant would be nice. We ate in all the restaurants. We didn't like the oriental. Really greasy food, no boiled rice to be seen. La' Vista which is built onto the hotel was ok, this restaurant along with the other two outwith the complex (Maya and Mexico) only offer a limited menu for your all inclusive, you will be given the option to choose any item from the A'La Carte menu with a discount of 50%. Two soft drinks per person and unlimited wine at these restuarants. We preffered the Mexico best. But to be perfectly honest they are not the best looking restaurants. More like somewhere you would go for a burger or pizza. Certainly not A' La Carte surroundings. This was our first time in Malta. We hired a car for 20 euros a day (1 week) from the Drifter car hire girl at reception. This was handy, as we took the half hour trip to Valletta,, superb,, lovely place, could've spent two days there. Also we travelled to Mdina, you can get round it in a few hours, also very beautiful. The local bus service is great if you don't want to drive. A bus stop only yards from the hotel will take you most places. Hop on Off day ticket is 2.60 Euros. It's approx 3 miles to the terminal that takes you over to Gozo. We went over for the day.. Cracking day out. We really liked Malta, and found the people to be very friendly. The prices to eat out, were cheaper than the Canaries, Portugal etc.. I do like a nice cup of coffee but sadly the machines here only had nescafe. As others have mentioned, the swimming pool floor has some rough edges, my teenage son ended up with plasters on both feet. It would be nice to see the salad etc at the buffet restuarant covered up, as the flies have been a problem in Malta this year. Evening entertainment could be better. No real proffessional acts. Despite any little issues we may have had. We had a great holiday and took some great photos. Weather was averaging 35c.. hot hot hot,, On arrival you will be given a ticket for the bowling in the hotel. All people in the party will get an hour for free. The sweets in all the restaurants were great. Not like most other hotels we have stayed where the sweets all taste the same. Apple pie and Ice cream etc. The carrot cake at all the outside restaurants was superb.. But beware,, the portions are large. My wife and I got starters at Mayo that looked more like a main course. I think that no matter what hotel you stay in, after 10 days.. the buffet food will get a bit monotonous. Maybe I expected a slightly better selection for the price we paid. But having said that. I would return to this hotel, especially if we got a late deal at a better price. If you've booked this hotel, you will enjoy it. We did, even though i may sound like I have just picked out the negatives.. Have Fun !

Room Tip: 2nd floor was good choice..

We stayed at the Seabank for 7 nights at the end of July and had a lovely time. All staff were friendly and helpful, we found that our room was a little too noisy at night as it backed onto the lifts, the reception staff were very helpful and we were moved the next day- upgraded to a pool view room.
Having arrived at the hotel mid- afternoon, we were pleasantly surprised to find plenty of food still being served at the pool side restaurant. There was always a very good selection of food available breakfast lunch and dinner. Drinks plentiful- help yourself to juices, wine, beer etc.
Pool was fantastic - roomy and very clean and we always found sun beds and umbrellas available, whatever time of the day we arrived. The are lots of activities going on throughout the day, we particularly enjoyed the aqua aerobics with Enrique which was lots of fun.The evening entertainment in the entertainment dome were put on by the dedicated Animation team most evenings. These were always a laugh, and we thoroughly enjoyed them, even though it was aimed a little more towards the children. The team were always smiling and you could tell that they really enjoy doing the shows. There are quite a few cocktails to choose from which contrary to other reviews seemed to have sufficient alcohol in!
We would thoroughly recommend the Hera around Malta day cruise which stopped at the Blue Lagoon where we went on a speed boat into the caves for €10 and had a lovely time snorkelling with the fish.
We had a lovely holiday in Malta and would definitely recommend the Seabank and would stay there again in the future
