“Well Done Seabank”
Reviewed 20 June 2013

We stayed for a week at the Seabank in June. Weather and location were excellent. We have stayed in several AI resorts across Europe and Carribean and this was the best so far.

My husband has coeliac disease and has to have a very strict gluten free diet or becomes very ill. I had corresponded via email with the hotel prior to our arrival, and arranged to meet the executive chef Stephen Gatt when we arrived. Stephen was the most amazingly helpful and professional person we have every dealt with, he and his staff, made this condition very manageable and catered for us amazingly. On many occasions even going so far as to provide seperately prepared meals, such as gluten free pizza and an amazing lamb dish. In the oriental restaurant a full seperate meal was prepared to avoid the soy sauce, which is usually a stumbling block for coeliacs to enable us to eat there. At all times we were made to feel welcome and that catering for this diet was not an issue or problem. Simon and Salome in particular were really wonderful. We cannot recommend their team highly enough to anyone requring a specialist diet and will be recommending them to the UK Coeliac society. As a non coeliac the other food was also amazing, especailly in the main buffett restaurant, which can sometimes be the let down in other hotels. Everything was fresh and imaginative and of the highest quality.

The staff throughout were excellent, friendly and knowledgeable and always felt that nothing was too much trouble. The Manager shoud feel very proud of their team whose service at all times was exemplary. Even when we arrived in the ealrly hours were welcomed with smiles and assistance and it constantly felt like a small family run hotel were everyone really wants you to return and have a great time.

Rooms, pool, bars and all facilities were clean, well maintained and stylish. As others have mentioned the animation team work hard and are constantly charming. At weekends local people use the facilities and yes this makes it a bit busier but I thought it was lovely to see a resort that is a valued part of the community and can be enjoyed by locals as well as overseas visitors.
The surrounding area was beautiful, great beach, easy bus routes just across the road and plenty to do. A charming small town at the top of the hill and we found Malta a beautiful, fascinating and very welcoming island.

Our only small gripe was there were a lot of children in the hotel and there was nowhere you could get away from them. If there could be some adult only areas in the dining room and the outside area of the bar we would have really appreciated this and would be more likely to return.

We would not hesitate to highly recommend this hotel and would like to thank them for an excellent holiday. We really hope they continue to be successful as they thoroughly deserve it. Well done Seabank.

Just come back from a week stay there was about 40 in our group over there for a wedding.
Great points are the pool area, the rooms are lovely and modern and there are a great range of cocktails and drinks. Got to give a big shout out to the animation team they work soooo hard and are the best I have seen with both the day time activities aqua gym was packed and a great talking point (when all the men decided to do it) and at night!!!
Some downsides are they need to employ more cleaners as we tried to check in at two and we had to wait and we weren't the only ones in our party. The food at night in the main restaurant seems to suffer from the fact there are four other restaurants u an book in too, as it had limited choice for evening meal!!! One major complaint I would have is they let all the locals in on a Sunday the hotel was heaving with very rude nonresidents!!! I wanted to relax on my last day and ended up escaping to a local bar and the beach was not impressed at all!!!!
The factilities thow are great in particular the gym, and also the bar staff are one some of the best I have encountered especially the beast in the cave!!!!! Haha

Just back from 7 nights at the Seabank and had a brilliant time!

The Seabank is in a good location on the seafront. About a mile up a steep hill (easily reachable via bus) is the small town of Mellieha. In the opposite direction it is around 10 minutes by bus to the ferry terminal in Cirkewwa, to travel to the islands of Gozo or Comino. The hotel has had a recent refurb and looks modern and clean. The room we stayed in was a decent size and very tidy with a nautical look and a comfy bed. We were on the 6th floor with a sea view room overlooking the beautiful bay. The balcony caught the sun all day so it was nice to make use of the two sun loungers provided. The fact that there was a main road below did not cause us any problem. Room cleaning every day was of a very high standard (by the friendly Miriam). Indeed all of the staff at the hotel were friendly and happy to help.

There are a number of themed restaurants in the hotel, of which we tried three. The oriental was particularly good, as was the Brazillian. The Maltese themed one was good, but probably more for those with a more adventurous taste bud as it served rabbit, snails, quail etc. Drinks were very good and no need to queue for long at the bar.

The Animation team were excellent, they worked very hard 12 hours a day and did the evening entertainment shows which we found very good.

There are two swimming pools (inside and outside), we spent a couple of days by the outside pool which was large and very clean. There was no problem with getting a sunbed.

On Sundays, a large number of the locals descend on the hotel with day passes which meant the hotel was very busy. When we went to have lunch in the Coral restaurant, we found there was a queue, but we did not have to wait for long as being All-Inclusive, we had priority over the locals and were shown to a table by a manager.

Getting around Malta (and Gozo) was very easy with buses operated by Arriva, it is €2.60 for a day ticket allowing unlimited travel (note tickets purchased in Malta are not valid in Gozo and vice-versa). The buses are very efficient and drivers friendly. This is a better alternative to car hire as the roads can be quite narrow and drivers erratic at times.

Overall, we had an excellent time at the Seabank and would visit again without hesitation.

We've just returned from a two week stay at the Seabank Hotel and have to say it's one of the best holidays we've had!

The hotel and staff are fantastic, very friendly and helpful. I have a nut allergy and the chef was more than happy to make me my own desert! The entertainment staff were brilliant, always an activity to do and the kids club was a HUGE hit with the kids.

The hotel is modern and clean and in a great location, we will definitely be going back!

Just returned from a week stay in the seabank. The hotel itself is good and has all the attributes of a good hotel and I agree with the other reviewers. The only thing is that whatever trips you book there is always an hour bus trip to get to the destination - mellieha itself has very little in it. If you are looking for a hotel where you can relax by the pool for a week this is ideal - food is good and staff are friendly. If you need to be entertained this hotel may not be for you. The spa is extremely good value for money and the treatments are exceptional.

Arrived back today from the Seabank Hotel Malta. This hotel is simply fabulous. All inclusive here really means all inclusive.Lots of good quality food available all day. Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel is very modern and clean. The location is great as it is just across the road from a pleasant sandy beach with crystal clear water. Just a short bus ride to ferry terminal to Gozo. Only 4.60 euros return to Gozo. 35 min bus ride to beautiful Valletta. Don't hire a car as the buses are frequent and a weeks unlimited pass is only 12 euros. I have no issues with the hotel at all. The only downside was the local rep. who seemed to want to sell you an excursion as was not interested with any questions that you had. Just ignore them and ask the friendly hotel staff. can't wait to go back!
