“Wonderful place”
Reviewed 11 July 2014 via mobile

Juat returned from a 10 day holiday to the seabank hotel. What a wonderful place. Set just across from the beach, it has all you need for a great holiday. The food is really good. Especially the international ones (meat lovers try the brazilian restaurant). The rooms were very clean and spacious, staff across the board were great with a special mention to kyle at the cave pool bar who was very helpful and attentive. The island itself is stunning with all bus routes passing the hotel. No excuse not see the wonderful history of malta. One good thing about the pool area was that there was a lot of sun beds so you will always find one what ever time of day. So good that we will be returning next year.

I can sum up this hotel in one word - excellent. Its a gem of a hotel and we immediately felt at home. We arrived very late due to a delayed flight but we were met by staff on the main desk like we were arriving at midday. The staff are excellent and very informative, always with a smile.
Surprisingly there was buffet food in the main restaurant which was excellent as we had nothing to eat from lunch time. The room was lovely with a sea view on the 3rd floor, really strange damp odor but this was the only complaint. We had aircon and a ceiling fan although I am led to believe that aircon is only available when its very hot, the ceiling fan is effective at any rate. The beds were exceptionally comfortable, possibly the most comfortable I have ever slept in in a hotel.
The pool area is huge and there are an ample amount of beds. There is a main pool area at the front and a sectioned off adult only area with bar at the back. This was welcome relief from flying beach balls and splashing kids. There are serve yourself water, soft drinks, wine and beer on tap and from 11am a bar service. The animations team so a good job of entertaining everyone with various activities. Breakfast is the usual cooked items with cereals and continental choice (proper thick British style bacon!)Lunch is from 12 pm and available either in the Laguna restaurant by the pool (mainly burgers and fast food or salads) or the main Coral restaurant with a huge selection to choose from. Picky eaters will love this place as there is so much to choose from you have to find something you like.
Dinner can be had in any one of six restaurants but these must be booked in advance at the poolside towel collection point. We were approached at lunchtime to try the Mediterranean restaurant (Laguna by the pool becomes a med restaurant after 7.30pm). We loved it and it was really something different. There were grilled meats, pork, ribeye steaks, Maltese Sausages, Chicken and various fish options. We also tried rabbit which was very tasty. One of the staff members (I forgot his name unfortunately) came over to ask how we wee enjoying the meal and suggested items to try with a bit of history of each, this was great fun and informative and made the experience feel special. We enjoyed it so much we booked it for the last night again. Its really worth trying the local food.
We hired a car but there is a bus stop directly opposite the hotel with frequent buses. Do yourself a favour and get a day ticket for 1.50 as this allows you to hop on and off any bus all day. The walk up to Mellieha is not for everyone and it is an effort. The hill is steep and long.
It is worth taking a trip up to see the church overlooking the bay and an air raid shelter below it.
The little restaurants in the main street are nice too. We treated ourselves to a steak in Katrina's near the top of the hill one evening and it was very good.
There are numerous gift shops etc. on the way up the hill with aircon if you need a break ;)
The alcoholic drinks on offer in the hotel were some of the best I have had in an all inclusive.
The wine is ok I enjoyed the red and rose but the white was a bit harsh. The beer is Carlsberg and is nicely chilled and the spirits are more than fine. The scotch and rum were quite good and the cocktails are quite good also, can't really complain.
There are premium brands which you can get with tokens. There is no need really.
we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Seabank and we would both like to say thanks to the superb team there for making our stay so pleasurable. You really deserve praise for the way in which the hotel is kept and run. Cheers!! We will return :)

Room Tip: 3210 is a seaview but it has a weird damp smell. Otherwise good.

We have just got back from our 10 day holiday at the Seabank and we had an amazing time! We went as a group of 4; me, my boyfriend and another couple (all mid twenties).
I was the only one of the group to have visited Malta before, as a child. It is such a beautiful place, rich in culture, history and the most breathtaking scenery!

It was scorching hot the entire 10 days, so the huge pool at the Seabank was very popular! We tended to use the adult only pool and were impressed to discover it has its own bar area and toilet facilities. Whilst we were there they also installed a shower in the area, the seabank has it all covered!

The bars are fantastic, they have a long list of cocktails to choose from and the beer served is Carlsberg (which went down very well with the boys!) Unlike other all inclusive hotels I have stayed in previously, the seabank didn't enforce a 'no more than 2 drinks at a time' rule, which made life easier! The bar staff are lovely, very polite, smartly dressed and always smiling!

We stayed in a pool view room and were very pleased. Our room was spacious, decorated nicely and the air-con was a life saver! Our maid Tessie was fantastic, the room was spotless every day and after 2 nights of my boyfriend removing his sheet from the bed, she started leaving the sheet off his side and only putting mine on. A nice personal touch!
There was a mini fridge in the room which had bottled water in, this was replenished daily and could be topped up from water dispensers if needed. The safe was free to use. The entire hotel has free wi-fi for all guests which is brilliant.

Ok... onto the best bit... the food! Well, what can I say? It's incredible! Only the fussiest of people could find a fault with the food at this hotel. The variety is huge in the Coral restaurant alone, not to mention the option to dine in the themed restaurants as many times as you want throughout your stay. Our favourite was the Italian, La Vista. It's a buffet style restaurant serving the tastiest Italian food. They also served the local beer, Cisk, which the guys loved. I think it is the only bar within the hotel that serves it, the other bars have only Carlsberg. We also ate at the Brazilian, it was a nice experience but you will leave feeling 9 months pregnant, be warned!
We payed an additional 5 euros each to have a BBQ on the Sunday evening in the bar area of the adult pool. It was a nice experience as there are a limited number of guests, wine is served by the bottle and live music is played. We were slightly disappointed by the BBQ, this was only due to the fact that none of us are fish lovers. The only meat they were cooking was steak and other than that it was all seafood. So if you like seafood then it is a must! (Muscles, king prawns, salmon etc). It is a good idea to get booked in to one of the restaurants at the weekend as the locals use the hotel and the main buffet restaurant gets very busy!
At the seabank you can eat anytime from 7:30am to 10pm, and no matter what time of day you choose, the variety and quality of the food is fantastic! For fellow chocoholics out there, you MUST try the chocolate tart!!! The chefs and waitresses in all of the restaurants work incredibly hard and do a brilliant job.

The animation team are great, very lively and talented! They entertain guests during the day as well as in the evening. We took part in volleyball, archery and shooting. The evening shows were great, we didn't catch them every evening but the ones we did see were brilliant (the 'ideal couple' show is hilarious!) The team work really hard and it pays off in their performances! We were especially impressed with the female singer from Malta, she has a beautiful voice.

As a group of four twenty-somethings we managed to find plenty to do around the hotel and used the buses to see more of Malta. They are very reasonable and the bus stop is right outside the hotel. For anybody who hasn't been to Malta before, visiting the capital, Valletta, is a must!

A quick mention also to the staff on reception, always happy to help with anything!

Overall, an outstanding hotel that we will definitely return to in the future and would highly recommend to anyone visiting Malta! We are considering getting married in Malta, and if we do the Seabank will definitely be our reception venue!

Thanks for an amazing holiday Seabank!

Room Tip: Pool view rooms are nice and quiet

My husband and I stayed here for a week in May for our anniversary. while we were staying there, so were the UEFA under 17s football teams. This was a slight downside as some of the teams were a bit rowdy, but this was not the resort's fault and they did do their best to keep the rest of the guests happy. We loved the resort so much we hardly left during that week, we usually go on lots of excursions but there was so much to do in the resort there was no need! The Pool was big with plenty of sun loungers and while I was reading my Husband played table tennis, tried rifle shooting and mini golf. The room was modern, spacious and clean. The housekeeping staff were brilliant and always has a smile and a hello. The food was fantastic. the only downside was the Brazilian restaurant. The meat was dry and overcooked but the buffet more than made up for that. Every night there were fresh salads, soup, bread, pizza and a large range of main courses. There was also help yourself wine, beer and soft drinks in every restaurant and coffee machine in the bar which meant you didn't have to queue at the bar. We had a fantastic time and will defiantly return, taking parents with us!

I really can't believe some of the reviews on here, this hotel is great and the staff cannot do enough for you.

The food is lovely and varied. There are six places to eat (you can't really count the Italian and the Jungle Restaurant as two as there are joined).

If you want a family holiday then it's great, for couples then you just need to ensure you book your evening meals for the later slots and use the 16+ pool if kids offend you (can't imagine why as the entertainers keep them busy and out of trouble anyway).

There is a road outside but we had a seaview (we didn't pay we were upgraded) and we weren't disturbed at all.

The cats some people mentioned are a problem at all and do not bother you.

The cleanliness is great, yes there are water stains on some carpets but the place is clean.

The only downside is you can't get Cisk apart from in the Italian. This is the local beer and really nice.

We would book again.

We travelled as part of a family group and everyone had a fantastic time. This is our second time at the sea banks. Free transfers arranged when booking direct with the hotel which was much better and quicker than the coach stopping at every hotel on the way. Lots of activities for all and the entertainment team was much better this year. The reason for four and not five stars... The food wasn't as good as last year but was still very good on the whole. The staff far to quick to try and take plates, asked every 2 minutes at breakfast one morning if we were done even when it was clear we were still eating. However we will absolutely be back next year and overall an excellent holiday!

Just returned from the 3rd year running at the Seabank. This is the only hotel we have ever returned to.The choice of food is excellent,as are the rooms especially the very comfortable beds and the facilities. Each year we see improvements. The staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly and are open to any suggestions towards improvement. There is an adult pool as well as family pools. The flower beds are really colourful and the shrubs are getting more established. The animation team are very good especially with the children. The Spa has a good choice of treatments from massage to reflexology.

Room Tip: No problems with the seaview rooms, view is excellent
