My family and myself have been going to the Sunday Buffet at the Coral Restaurant in the db Seabank Resort & Spa quite a lot and thought it's about time I reviewed this lovely restaurant. The delicious buffet is very reasonably priced and is all-inclusive with mixed antipasti, soups, pasta, main dishes and sweets plus free-flowing wine, beer, soft drinks, water and coffees/teas. It even includes parking in the resort's underground parking lot!

The ambience is fresh and cool ... with fantastic views of the beautiful Mellieha Bay ... and the displays are simply lovely ... as is the food on offer. I have always found the food really fresh and cooked with care. The staff are very friendly and super efficient including the cashier, waiters & waitresses and the chefs at the cooking stations. Between the starters and main dishes one can always find something different to nibble on ... either Chinese, Indian or other delicacies which change every so often.

Their lasagne is to die for, as is their carrot cake and the coconut & blueberry tart. Some diners may find the absence of beef a bit awkward ... which doesn't make a difference to me as I'm not such a beef lover ... but they can rest assured that the vast array of dishes on offer make up for this ... including lovely pork, lamb, chicken, rabbit and fish. It may be just a coincidence, but I never came across beef as one of the choices on offer.

The image I always get when dining here is that EVERYBODY'S HAVING FUN which is what dining out should be about ... and I have always enjoyed myself thoroughly here. I truly believe this is excellent value for money and I wish the management all the best for giving such a great service altogether. The restaurant is very popular so bookings are a must.

There are already a ton of reviews, so I will not try to review the entire hotel - just some observations:
We stayed two weeks in July with two kids of 3 and 2. We had a room with a double bed and two singles that were separable with a sliding door. To get to the bathroom you had to cross the children's room, but that was OK for us. Cleanliness of the room was very good (no carpet, but tiles in the room). We had a room facing the pool area (beach is on the other side, facing the street) and we had no problem with noise. The bars and music close around 11pm - that was fine for us.
Hotel offers All Inclusive. In general this often leads to a lower quality of drinks and food, but I guess the hotel found a good trade-off. Beer is Heineken, spirits of course not major brands, food of medium quality, I'd say.
Food: I guess you have to consider, that the vast majority are English guests, so the food offer is tailored to their needs. However we always found something for us and our kids. Insiders' tip: We avoided the main "Coral" restaurant and went to the Laguna restaurant: Usually this was less crowded, less noisy, and the food more to our likes. Another recommendation is the Asian restaurant (Sushi, Chinese and Indian food in buffet style). To avoid are the Brazilian, Jungle and Italian La Vista. The latter two are in the basement without windows. Although the kids loved the playground in the Jungle restaurant. Another tip for the main restaurant: ask for a table on the terrace: Less noisy and sea view!
Beach/Pool: To reach the beach you have to cross a highly frequented street (5 minutes walk). But there are traffic lights and the beach is separated from the street, so that was no problem with kids. I usually went to the beach at 9 am and had no problems to find beach beds and umbrella. However you could not rent for the whole stay so you had to ask and pay everyday. Price for 2 beds and 1 umbrella was € 12 a day - compared to Italy that is cheap. Beach was sandy and ideal for little kids - water very shallow and clear. On the beach you find a bar/restaurant and beach supplies. No beach vendors at the beach who sell massages or fake sunglasses and watches - somehow I missed them.
Pool area: In general good - very spacious. But this was high season, so things got a bit crowded. What we did not like, was that the water of the big pool got rather turbid and the water quality of the baby pool seemed not to withstand the amount of kids. Our kids had to fight with stomach problems, since they seemed to have swallowed water when swimming, so we tried to avoid the baby pool.
Service: in general very good to excellent.
All in all I would recommend the hotel for families - if possible go there after high season, like Sep/Oct/Nov.

We stayed in the last week of school holidays so it was busy, but very pleasant. The food is good overall and the hotel is clean and comfortable. It's relatively modern in decor and too new to be looking tired yet. There's a nice spa and a kids club too. There is a sandy beach with good amenities across the road, ferry port to Comino and Gozo and the Popeye village are near by. For anything else on the island you'll need a car.

On our return visit to the seabank I was not sure if second time around is would be as good..as we have returned to many hotels only to be disappointed, but it is with confidence I can say this was not the case at the Seabank. In fact it was not only as good...but better.
We saw many improvements around the hotel, showing us that the seabank is not standing still but going forward. This time we booked the Brazilian and Asian restaurants, they didn't disappoint. If we have to find a small fault, as hard as they try the entertainment was not great!!!
Just have to mention the Seabank staff as they are the best we've come across for many a holiday. Special thankyou to Marion on reception...who put us in great rooms and set up the perfect holiday for us THANKYOU

Room Tip: Pool room gets late sun

Overall a good holiday.

Adults only pool
Very good Italian restaurant La Vista
Good Orient restaurant and Brazilian restaurant
Brilliant breakfasts in Coral restaurant
Excellent range of free drinks including reasonable wines and easily available cold drinking water water
Very friendly staff
Very good range of day time activities

Food became boring in Coral (main) restaurant after a few days
Desserts much the same over the two weeks
People freely smoking in non-smoking areas
Too few sun umbrellas
Nothing done about people reserving sunbeds from early morning despite hotel regulations
Evening entertainment poor quality and aimed mostly at occupying children

Room Tip: Get a sea view room if possible

We've just returned from a lovely stay at the Seabank Hotel. Our first holiday away in August with our 2 daughters. Although the hotel was extremely busy with it being the school holidays, we never struggled for sunbeds and never queued up for food.

The buffet restaurant was extremely good, also the pool buffet was really good too. We sampled 3 out of the 4 restaurants and enjoyed the Oriental the best.

I booked a twin room (I should of really booked a family room) which was cleaned daily and was always stocked up clean towels, the bedding was changed also a number of times.

The girls aged 5 and 8 enjoyed the pool area immensely and made lots of friends, the kids pool was too small for them but they still played there a number of times.

The entertainment team works extremely hard day and night, although my kids didn't use the kids club the kids that did seemed to be having fun. The kids loved the mini disco and also the show the entertainment team put on after the disco.

Mellieha Bay is fairly quiet but you can go visiting other bays cheaply on the local buses which run all the time.

All in all was had a fantastic holiday and will most definitely be returning to the Seabank Hotel.

Room Tip: If you are travelling with children definitely book a family room, I booked a twin room where we wer...
