The hotel is great, very clean and breakfast is very good too.The breakfast is a buffet style with plenty to choose from. Although one night we decided to have the buffet dinner. Not very good. The staff are very helpful. The only downfall is where it is. Mellieha is very small. The street where the hotel is situated is steep, so if you have difficulty in walking, not advisable. Also not much there too. There is a pizza eatery connected to the hotel, very good, although closes at 11.00 am If you wanted to go down to the bay then you would have to get a bus, as quite a long walk, down some steep hills, the buses are all Arriva buses, but not very reliable. I would recommend this hotel, but not where it is. If you want no night life then this is the place to be. I am not one for rowdy places or disco's etc, but I must admit a few bars for a quite drink would have been nice.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view as some rooms have a balcony looking into the the reception

I and my husband were in Malta & Gozo for 12 days. Maritim Antonine Hotel was the second hotel we stayed in for 4 nights, then we stayed in the Grand hotel in Gozo for another 4 nights. Comparing these two 4stars hotel, Grand hotel is much much better!!

Maritim Antonine hotel got 3 swimming pools, all are small. The garden pool is better, relatively larger amongst the 3, but kids are playing around. The rooftop one with good seaview, also small. The fitness room has good facilities.

The breakfast was good with good variety. We had a buffet dinner there for one night. The young staff there are not eager to serve you, their eyes are not looking at you (actually they are wandering around). Those older staff will welcome you with smile and come to you and have the initiative to serve you. Food for the buffet dinner value for money but nothing special about it, quality is fine.

Room is large enough for 2 people, bathroom is also large. But the service is terrible!! Anything you used in the bathroom will not be refilled. The air-conditioner does not work, you will be woken up at middle of the night because it's too hot. We complained about this to the front desk staff who always answer you:" we will get somebody to fix it" and finally by the day we depart, nothing happen!!

On the day we checked in, we also found the refrigerator is not functioning. The drinks inside are at room temperature. Since it was sunday, the front desk staff told us may need to wait till tomorrow to get the maintenance staff to see it. Monday night, the refrigerator still the same. We told the front desk, same answer " we will ask our maintenance staff to look at it". Of course, after 4 nights nothing happen. We don't want to talk to the front desk gals as they are not helpful and willing to help you and one of the gals can be called stupid.

We booked our buffet dinner at front desk and need to get the vouchers there. The reception gal asked me for room no, I told her Rm 650. She wrote on those vouchers the room no. and then write a receipt of 27 euros for me (13.5 euros per person) and asked me room no again. I told her again. Even her colleague by her side replied her room 650. I gave her 30 euros, the change she gave me back was 2 euros. I asked her, should the change be 3 euros, she still not aware..........OMG, a simple maths!!!! I think she is not awake during working hrs.

There is no Wifi service, but the 3 stars Carlton hotel I stayed before Maritim Antonine hotel got it. The car park in Maritim Antonine hotel is another terrible. Only small car can get it, the winding path down to the car park at basement 2 is long and dark and smelly. Since it is where the restaurants dispose the food debris. At the middle of the day, we just park at road side instead of taking the risk to go down again.

Overall, there are many rooms for improvement for this hotel. They got the hardware, though some hardwares are worn down, but the softwares will push you away definitely.

But the location is good, it is up at the mountain with seaview and bus stop outside. You can walk down to Mellieha beach and also restaurants around there. The restaurants before tunny jetty are very good and offer tasty maltese cuisine & wonderful seafood!!

It was a relief to find this hotel after staying in dodgy self-proclaimed 4 stars hotels in La Valleta and other part of Malta.
At the time I stayed in Maritim Antonine it was freshly refurbished, all the interior decoration up to its 4 star rating.
Pool on the top of the main building has sea views, the one indoor is also interesting (not a square boring hole like in so many other places). The pool in the gardens is also unusual and remarkably quiet. The hotel has great bars and restaurants, almost no real need to look outside, although I found it a bit confusing to get my head around what is at what floor. The building is on a steep slope and int has multiple entrances, terraces, halls and lobbies that could all pass as Ground Floor. But this adds to the interesting character of this hotel. My room was not big, but it compensated by being very well furnished (designer furniture and bathroom utilities). It was in the second half of the hotel across the road, accessible through an underground tunnel.
As I said, a very strange layout, so you need to be really sober to know the way back to your room. Certainly NOT boring!!!

Excellent location, minutes away from the beach in Bugibba (not a great beach I must admit). I drove to the beach in Paradise Bay, another half an hour away but worth it).

If you are hiring a car, make sure it's a compact car, otherwise don't attempt to park in the basement: the spiral ramp is extra-narrow and ENDLESS. Loads of car paint smudges on the walls. If you do make sure you follow the green light, cause you literally cannot reverse. Or use the parking concierge, if offered.

Room Tip: Ask for bay view.

We visited in may, the room was very nice, on the whole quite clean, although the iron legs of the dressing table and bedside tables could do with a flick over with a duster, and the seal on the bottom of the shower door had seen better days!
The staff were absolutely lovely.
The main let down in our room was the balcony, it had a wall, not railings, tha wall came almost to my shoulders, I'm only 5' 2", and when i sat on a sunchair, all i could see was wall, and not the lovely garden...
the pools were lovely and clean, but it would have been nice if the jacuzzi was working!
Food was very good, although by midweek i was craving some chips.. lol
Very convenient for the local bus service, The stops were right outside!
On the whole a very nice hotel and i would visit again.

Room Tip: choose a garden view! and ask for a balcony with iron railings rather than a wall!

We stayed here for a week on a bed and breakfast basis in late June. We booked this through Thomas Cook and it was very good value for money. We had a garden view twin room which was quiet, clean and comfortable. This had a small balcony that looked out over the pretty gardens. Plenty of choice at breakfast of both hot and cold food. The roof pool is small but there is a large area for sunbathing with a wonderful view of Mellieha Bay and a refreshing breeze. The garden pool is lovely and a welcome relief from the very hot weather Malta was experiencing. It has a pool bar run by friendly staff and we had lunch and cold drinks there most days. A couple of extra parasols might be good though. There is a bus stop close by and we used the buses to travel to the beach and into Valletta. There is so much to see in Malta - it is full of history. We bought a 7 day ticket at 12 euros each - very reasonable. We did an enjoyable boat trip to the Blue Lagoon in Comino where we swam and snorkelled. We booked an evening guided open top bus trip through our rep, which was brilliant. A good variety of places to eat and drink in the main strip but be warned, Mellieha is a quiet little place. This suited us for just a week (we watched football in the 120 Sports Bar most nights) but there didn't seem to be much going on. Overall an excellent holiday and would recommend both hotel and location.
However, I am not sure about the 4* rating in relation to the hotel bathroom. I have seen better toiletries provided in modest little bed and breakfasts! We got two tiny cakes of soap and there was a dispenser in the bath that reluctantly produced something like fairy liquid. This ran out on the second last day and was not replaced. As the holiday was nearly over we didn't chase it up. There was a bath with a shower over but the strip on the bottom of the plastic shower wall was broken and you had to face the shower nozzle away and ensure the wall was not flush with the bath in order to prevent a flood. I do think they need to give the bathrooms a refurbishment.

Room Tip: Ask for a garden view.

Booked a Garden view Family room with a balcony for a week. Got to hotel late (after midnight) and the good size room was all laid out, with pull out bed already set up. Great choice in restaurant for breakfast: fruit, yoghurts, cereals, breads, bacon sausage, eggs and omelettes made to order. Used all the facilities including restaurants, bars, pools, spa and the gym. All very good, except for one meal, where we ate in the Pizza restaurant and I made a bad choice in ordering a seafood pizza. Huge, but very watery, sent it back and it came back slightly less watery but still not great. Hotel is close to Mellieha beach (hotel has a shuttle bus), plenty of decent restaurants in the village and the bus stop is 20mts from the hotel, which takes you to the rest of the island if you want to see the sites(12 Euro for a 7 day ticket). Best trip we went on was Blue Lagoon boat trip from Melliah beach (English Rose or Oh Yeah boats are best, both charge12 Euro for the trip - excellent value for money). Hotel staff are very attentive, its clean and the facilities especially the pools are great.

Room Tip: Book the Garden view rooms (quiet), as it is a busy street at the front of the hotel and can get noi...
