This is our second stay at the Radisson at Golden Bay and it didn't disappoint. The hotel has something for everyone and the facilities at the hotel are excellent - Spa treatments, indoor and outdoor pools, exercise equipment, games room and lovely sized rooms with comfy beds - it's all there! The setting of the hotel itself is glorious, with views across the golden sands to the turquoise water of the bay and also close access to walking and horseriding activities around the local conservation area. This is a lovely area to explore with some breathtaking views. Though the hotel is out in the country, it is not difficult to get to by bus, taxi or car and the hotel staff were very helpful in advising us of the best ways to get around the island. The hotel staff are very friendly and efficient, often going out of their way to help. The bars and restaurants are lovely - Agliolio in particular. Our favourite place is the Mokka Terrace. This is the perfect place to sit in the sun, with a drink and watch the sun set! For us, it is an ideal opportunity to get away once a year and completely relax. We will definitely be back in 2013!

I've stayed in nicer beach-front hotels before, and I don't think this is a four-star hotel. (We had a second floor room at the back facing the countryside, and the fittings/television were all dated and a bit worn.) The towels and bed throw was a bit worn and dirty, and that wasn't what I expect from a 5 star hotel. The main issue was that some of the walls were paper thin, so you could hear the people in the next room and could hear their shower and when they went to the toilet. That put me off.

We ended up in a five-hour timeshare presentation, which was a downside as it took up our time. (We were only in Malta at the hotel for three days, so that took up one day, and we didn't get to see everything we wanted to, and we also didn't get to enjoy the hotel pool/beach/area...three days is not enough time, and had I known the timeshare presentation, I would have booked the five-day option instead.) We were shown nice rooms during the presentation, and it seems the hotel is putting all its resources into these rooms and not others.

The timeshare presentation -- it took five hours. They were really nice, but it's not for us, and we're going through a lot financially at the moment, (we just got married in the summer, and this was our first trip abroad since getting married as we both went back to work the day after the wedding) including redundancy that was announced recently. So, even if we felt it was for us, we couldn't commit to anything financially - that would be idiotic. I thought that by explaining the circumstances we are going through at the moment, that they would be more understanding and it wouldn't have taken so long, and we could have spent part of the last day enjoying the hotel. We were told we'd get free breakfast or lunch for attending this, but that did not happen. I did ask them to get me some breakfast as our session was early in the morning, and I hadn't had breakfast, and smelling food made me hungry, so we got a couple of slices of toast.

Flavours food was ok, and we had snacks at Meeko bar. (The food was ok, but the cocktails were not so good and over-priced.) Unfortunately, we didn't get to make it to Swizzles. Staff are friendly, and I have no complaints about the service.

The location of the hotel is out in the middle of nowhere, so a car is good to rent, or you have options of many excursions and events and taxi through the hotel's club. We saw fireworks on our last evening in Mdina, and that was 5 euro each way, so that was fun. The best day we had was the day where we hired a car and drove around.

Malta is a nice place. I will go back at some point, but there's also so much of the world to visit.

Room Tip: Country-view close to ground level floor isn't very good. They also seem to be dated when compar...

This hotel is not five star but it once was, and at least the high level of service remains as well as the deliciously, sumptuous breakfast which even includes Prosecco!. Yes, famous people have stayed here but my guess is that they weren't paying!! The room we had was very spacious: a bedroom, living room, bathroom and balcony (not facing the sea which would have been preferable!). It just did not have any personality and needed an 'update'. Our tea/coffee/sugar was only replenished when we asked and the large fluffy towels we experienced on arrival soon changed to smaller, rougher ones - it all reminded me of one of those large Las Vegas hotels: one size fits all.
So many of the smaller fixtures and fittings around the hotel are almost broken or not working, like in the bathrooms - taps, soap dispensers, that kind of thing.
Depending on how fussy you are or are not, this hotel can and will please because the staff want to make your visit special and please you and that's good enough for me.
They really have people around to make things happen and help you make the most of your holiday!
All in all, the hotel pleased and although it's not at the level of it's former glory, there is plenty to keep you busy there and the standard is high enough to please the majority of tourists.

Room Tip: A room with a view of the sea will also mean that you get the sunshine coming through. Facing the b...

Our 5th Trip to this Hotel since 2007. Each trip is better than the last. Very clean hotel, all the staff are totally exceptional. The evening entertainment in Swizzles Bar is always of a very high qaulity. It was very pleasing to see that the pool table had been removed from swizzles and a dedicated games room has now been set up. Our greeting upon arrival was second to none, all due to Henri's greeting and recognising us as previous guests. The staff really do make you feel welcome and nothing is ever too much for them, the are always there with a happy face ready to deal with any enquiries day oe night. One Hotel I would highly recommend to any traveller.

Room Tip: Rooms on the Country side are quieter, however I don't think it really matters whether you choos...

Wow, the view from Radisson Blu hotel is just stunning. Sea views as far as the eye can see and a short walk up onto the hills gives you a great view of the sea, hotel and the beach below.

The room we had was very large and the kitchen was perfect for us as we part self catered.

Stayed there in March and paid £149 for 5 nights, plus £92 for both of us to have a hotel breakfast each morning and £90 each for flights. The deal was based on us listening to a time share presentation at the end of our holiday. We had a lovely gentleman who talked to us about it but it was not for us and he was very friendly about the whole thing.

The only slight negative about the hotel is the location, however there is a local bus service that runs every half an hour to all parts of the island for only a few euros for all day travel, very cheap indeed!

Overall the hotel is very very nice, the indoor pool, spa, food, room everything was perfect and I will definitely be coming back to Malta due to this wonderful hotel!

My husband and I stayed for a week at this resort and the whole experience was just delightful. The staff are so very helpful, they go out of their way and go the extra mile for you which makes you feel that extra bit special.

Our room was comfortable with a large bathroom. We had a sea view which was beautiful at sunset.

It is quite remote, we hired a car to get around, but there is a bus stop outside. Lovely to take walks in the early evening.

Overall we had a fantastic stay.
