We stayed 22-29 July '13. We went on the Azure promotion package and despite being a worrier all concerns were eliminated when our free private transfer was ready and waiting at the airport. Hotel transfer took 20-30 minutes and we were checked in quite a few hours early and had an arrival drink whilst the room was being inspected. Hotel reception were fabulous, went beyond level if expectation and super friendly just like all other staff in the hotel. ALL staff deserve much praise for excellent customer service, they really do serve quickly, know their menu's and hotel inside out and staff in Agliolio met our various fussy food requests and knew every ingredient! Great value for money- we ate here 5 times in all! Thank you!!!

Hotel facilities include a massive lagoon style pool, with sunbeds compacted close together due to the lack of pool side space in comparison to tourists, but beds always available, although hurt your neck as are at an akward angle when lying down. There's a separate quieter pool further on in the resort which is still a great size, and in between pools a quieter 'garden' area with sunbeds which are far more comfortable and quiteter again.

We had a self catering room which we didn't have to pay an upgrade for which meant we could buy groceries, there is a mini mart on site which is moderately priced, but of course consider Euro rates as is generally more expensive. I took a multi pack of Kellogs cereals with me! The kitchenette had loads of plates/bowls/glasses/cutlery/serving bowls and so on, a hob, big fridge, washing up sink. The bedroom had his and hers sinks, big shower/bath, bathrobes and toiletries- like an exec room in the UK. Sofa bed and mini bar and dining table also in room and balcony overlooking a quiet car park and fields, glad we didn't upgrade to pool side as noise from pools and bars etc., although was minimal.

Hotel is in the middle of Golden Bay, a very nice sandy beach where all the locals BBQ and gather at night, and bus route is right outside, and the North tour open bus also goes from outside round the corner to the left of the publc bus stop.

Bear in mind you need shuttles/bus/taxi to go anywhere as is a restricted location, but I prefer peace and quiet so was good for me away from touristic areas but with a couple of beach side cafes and stalls next to the beach/hotel you will not be stuck.

We went on the north and south open top bus tours, north was better and goes to Mdina, the silent village/old town, and we also went on a boat/open bus trip to Gozo, Camino and the Blue Lagoon which was mass tourism hoarding. We abandoned the boat trip and got a speedboat back with Oki Kokey company- which was amazing, really made our day, super fast and thrilling ride which lasted an hour for €15 each! They sit next to the boat at the Blue Lagoon if you too want to do this, otherwise if just doing lagoon trip they do mini 15 minute speed boat rides from there.

Finally... The sales meeting with Azure was fine, it takes 4 hours and they do try to make an effort to get to know you and seem very genuine. We did sign up however with all our questions we were there 8 hours in total, and paid €1100 fee, however we then backed out, causing a bit of upset to the team but the compliance team were empathetic and DID refund our fee, though we misunderstood and it turns out the fee was for a Pre-Paid non refundable week at hotel in the future- miscommunication between both parties- they were more than fair and did give us our money back, and we are sorry for the aggro or upset we caused but was settled and I thank Marion/Joce for their help and understanding. They DO NOT pressure you and are so helpful and informative and all above board. Thank you.

Overall Malta is quite a concrete island as is Gozo, but considering how cheap flights are, and the amazing promotion we got with Azure this was an amazing value for money holiday on the beautiful resort of Radisson. We were more than accommodated by Azure with a comp breakfast and dinner vouchers, free lunch and drinks, and can't thank them enough for that.

Well done Radisson & Azure for a seamless and brilliant service and opportunity to visit Malta and the Golden Sands.

My sister and I had a wonderful week at the resort. The staff was incredibly helpful navigating us on tours. Everything from the relaxing pool, to the wonderful spa services, we really enjoyed this hotel. The scenery is magnificent.

Although my husband and I did not stay at the Radisson Blu, we had the amazing experience of holding our wedding there. Right from the get go, we were given an incredible experience. Our Co-Ordinator Abigail was there to meet us 2 days before the ceremony so that we could choose which terrace of the two available we would like to hold the ceremony. When we picked, we were told that it was a public terrace, and we may have members of the public around. This terrace happened to be the cheaper option of the two (completely free, in fact), and so we enquired about getting a floral archway put up. Within 10 minutes Abigail had got 2 quotes for us, and said that it wasn't a problem to do for us at only two days notice!!!!

On the day, she was there to greet us the moment we arrived. Abigail even managed to ensure that the flowers on the arch matched my bridal bouquet perfectly. We had no unexpected passers by, and the view was stunning. Once the ceremony was over and we went to have some pictures on the beach, Abigail took all the flowers from the arch and attached them to the rails by our table for our meal. She also had some massive plant pots put by the table and put us in the corner so that we had a more romantic and private evening.

When our meal arrived, we were treated to an Amouse Bouche, a beautiful 3 course meal, and even a little Bride and Groom sweet lolly treat. Additionally, we were given a plate of chocolates as a congratulations from the staff.

There was no part of our day that Abigail didn't think of, and she made it incredibly special for us. The location was beautiful, the staff were attentive and polite (even taking a photo for us when asked on the spot), and we were treated like royalty.

It was such an amazing experience that we are recommending this hotel as a wedding hotspot for our friends!

Thank you so much Abigail and co.

Out the way from the hussle and bussle but a bus stop right outside the hotel if thats what you like.
Nice walks to the next bay with breath taking views especially as the sun is setting over the sea.

I think our review quite simply mirrors the reviews by most other visitors to this hotel. The staff were very well trained and very very accommodating. Special thanks to Dane in the Agliolio Restaurant and to Michael in the Mocha Bar. Some reviewers have commented on the location of this hotel but for us the Sea View, the beautifully managed public beach and Munchies Cafe/Restaurant more than made up for it. In our 7 days at the hotel, we managed to go touring and sight seeing on 6 of these days and we only used a taxi once. Malta's public transport system is amazing value for money and heck, you're on holiday so who's worried about not rushing around and being dictated to by schedules.
We ate at the hotel on 2 occasions, both at the Italian and the food and service was impeccable. On other occasions we ate at Munchies Restaurant where again the service and food were superb. I heartily recommend the Grilled Lamb Chops, marinated in herbs and wine and cooked perfectly pink (the way I asked for them). While at the Radisson, take a bus ride to Mgarr and eat at Il Barri, probably one of the best eating experiences I have had in the Med. A word of caution however, the portions are HUGE!!
On a fial note, we went on the promotional package and upgraded to a sea view room. The sales presentation wasn't hard core, just take my advice and make it clear that you aren't buying and don't engage in too much small talk at the beginning because this is their means of finding your "weak spot". Another great ploy, is when he says "any questions?" just say NO and that puts them off their stride and they don't know what to say.
Above all, a really fantastic holiday. We will return to Malta but next time probably on Gozo which we fell in love with. Any questions, just email me and I will be glad to respond.

Room Tip: This hotel is on the West coast of the island. Pay for a Sea View, you won't regret it, the suns...

Overall this is a lovely hotel...spacious and clean. The pool area is large so there are more quiet spots for those of you holidaying without children. There is no waiting for sun beds or anything like that as the area is well spread out.
The only negative is the lack of speed in any service and this is consistent across the hotel ( be it housekeeping, reception, room service , pool service or restaurants). Whilst nobody expects it to be fast paced on holiday, I did find myself having to chase room service twice ( took 40 mins just to get a pot of coffee in the morning), chasing drinks and food orders in the restaurants and poolside, waiting 30 mins for a cold sandwich etc- it is badged as a 5 star hotel therefore I do expect service to be 5 star regardless of location/ laid back slow culture.

Room Tip: I don't know if this is the case for everyone but we opted for room only (no breakfast) and as a...
