“An ideal and highly commendable holiday accomodation”
Reviewed 16 August 2013

During our last visit to Gozo, we decided to stay at Villa Bronja in Xlendi.

From the informative email they sent to us with all accomodation details prior to our arrival, we anticipated that they offered a very professional service.
And we were right! When we arrived, we immediately noticed that the 2 bedroomed apt we booked was impeccably clean, very airy, crisp white towels, fully equipped kitchen.......in a few words, a home away from home. It is a place where you could immediately relax and enjoy the comfy ambience. We noticed that even our two young kids felt at home straight away :)

It is only a short walking distance from Xlendi bay, which is great, and at the residence, one could also make use of a pool on the roof offering fantastic views of Xlendi.
I must also mention that the owners are really helpful, ready to assist in every need that might arise.
We feel that Villa Bronja is highly commendable and look forward to visit again in the near future.
Thankyou for making our stay a pleasant one!
Lorraine & Robert D'Amato.

My partner and I are just back from a Gozo mini-holiday. Manoel and Pauline where welcoming, helpful and made sure we had a pleasant stay there. The little studio apartment was perfect for our needs, with a balcony where we could sunbathe and have our breakfast.

We had a trip to xlendi with my parents and 2 children- hired 2 apartments. Apartments very comfortable and Manoel and Pauline made us feel very welcome. After only a few hours from arriving - it is safe to say we all felt very ralexed. Apartments close to beach and restuarants and Manoel is great to give tips on where to go around the island. He also helped hire us a car with no hassle and transfers to and from the airport. Hassle free!!! I recommend a car hire to explore the island.
We will be back.
Thank you for a memorable holiday!!!!

Room Tip: One room has no access to WIFI.

We had a fantastic time in gozo and this accomodation was everything we could have wished for. The room was spacious and the kitchenette had was well equipped with everything we needed. The location was perfect and we couldn't believe how peaceful it was. The roof top swimming pool was great when we needed to cool down from the scorching sunshine. Thank you very much we hope to be back in the future: )

We weren't too sure what to expect, having booked our week's stay through internet, and on the basis of photos and the info sent by the owners. But we were areeably surprised to find that the room was impeccably clean, the terrace was just right for breakfast and an evening drink, the kitchen had all we needed in terms of utensils to make a (very)basic meal. You have to go up to the roof for a view of the sea, and it's a pity there aren't a couple of tables up there to enjoy the sunset with a glass of rosé wine, or a cold beer. We apprehended the remark on the contract disclaiming responsibility for any noise from builders and building activities, but there wasn't any, and it was very honest of the owners to mention this feature which is a permanent fixture wherever you go in Malta and Gozo..... In fact, it was lovely and quiet, being set back from the sea-front. It's also a short walk from the sea : make the effort of taking the small bridge over the tiny valley and on to the watch tower to dicover a really quiet and pretty swimming spot where the water is really deep and crystal clear, if you can find the tiny staircase hewn out of the rocks which takes you to the getting-in-and-out-easily platform !! The studio flat was very clean, plainly but prettily decorated, and the owners are charming people. You won't go very wrong if you decide to stay here ! And do the walk up to the cliffs above Xlendi on the other side of the bay : it's one of those walks where the path makes you want to keep going on and on.... Best place to eat in Xlendi ? Ta Karolina, the last restaurant along the sea-front !

Room Tip: Ours was the one in the photos, with that little terrace : great for an evening drink ! It would be...

On the apartment -
I can't find fault, we picked this apartment as it was the cheapest we could find which had what we wanted. It is very basic what the apartment lacked was made up tenfold by Manoel and Pauline's hospitality. From the minute I enquired Manoel was on the end of an email to promptly answer any question I had (however trivial!) and throughout the holiday he was around to offer priceless advice on all things Gozo/Malta from buses and coastal walks to what to do with the strange vegitable we saw...!! And yet we never once felt crowded by him, if only all hosts were as helpful!!!!
There is a van which calls outside the door daily with all of the essentials, we only went to the supermarket once in 10 days which is a 10 minute bus ride away. Buses are every 45 minutes and are air conditioned bliss...!!! (Not so nice in Malta - heed Manoels warning!!)
The pool is up around 6 flights of stairs so something to note for anybody less mobile.

We visited everything worth visiting in Gozo and Xlendi was by far the nicest location. Restaurants were amazing, from cheap pizza (not cheap in quality - possibly the nicest pizza I have ever eaten!!!) to more upmarket places. The further along you go the more upmarket they get.
From Xlendi it is 10 minutes by bus to the centre (Victoria) and from there no more than 20 minutes to anywhere else on the island which makes visiting places quick and enjoyable - no wasting your holiday travelling. Bus tickets are €12 for a 7 day pass or around €2 per two hours.
If you venture to Malta be SURE to visit Mdina and whilst there go to Fontinellas - hilite of my ten day break!!!!

I can 100% recommend Villa Bronja

Xlendi is a great place to stay. It's a small village by the sea based around a small rock formed bay. There are several small hotels and restaurants - some of the restaurants are excellent and great value.

The sea is excellent for diving and swimming and my wife and I had several lovely relaxing days around Xlendi. We both agree we will go back there.

The accomodation was very clean and comfortable. There's plenty if room for 2 with a small kitchen and a balcony which is good for whiling away an hour or two watching the world go by. It is a quiet and laid back place.

The apartment is only 5 minutes from the water front. Manoel and Pauline are very friendly and helpful. This really is great value for money and a lovely place.
